LEDs
Each 1/10GBase-T port on the LSWM2XGT2PM interface card has
an LED to indicate its operating status.
Table 2 describes LEDs for the QSFP+ ports.
Table 2 1/10GBase-T port LED descriptions
LED status Description
Steady green The port is operating at 10 Gbps, and a link is
present on the port.
Flashing green The port is sending or receiving data at 10
Gbps.
Steady yellow The port is operating at 1 Gbps, and a link is
present on the port.

LED status Description
Flashing yellow The port is sending or receiving data at 1 Gbps.
Off No link is present on the port.
NOTE:
The 1/10GBase-T port LEDs are not affected by the port mode
switching button on your switch. For more information about the
port mode switching button, see the installation guide of the

▌Installing and removing an interface card
CAUTION:
•Before you install or remove an interface card, wear an ESD
wrist strap and make sure the wrist strap makes good skin
contact and is reliably grounded.
•To avoid device damage, do not use excessive force when you
install or remove an interface card.
This example describes how to install and remove LSWM2XGT2PM
interface card on an HPE 5510 24G 4SFP+ HI 1-slot Switch
(JH145A).
Prepare the following tools before you install or remove an interface
card:
•Phillips screwdriver.
•Flat blade screwdriver.
•ESD wrist strap.
The installation tools are not provided with HPE devices. Prepare
them yourself.
Installing an interface card
Removing a filler panel
1. Use the Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw on the filler
panel in the target interface card slot, as shown by callout 1
in Figure 2.

4
2. Insert the flat blade screwdriver through the handle on the filler
panel to pull out the filler panel, as shown by callout 2 in Figure 2.

NOTE:
Keep the removed screw and filler panel secure for future use.
Installing an LSWM2XGT2PM interface card
1. Unpack the interface card.
2. Insert the interface card slowly into the slot along the guide rails,
as shown by callout 1 in Figure 3.
3. Rotate inward the ejector lever as shown by callout 2 in Figure 3
until the interface card is in close contact with the switch.
4. Use the Phillips screwdriver to tighten the captive screw on the
interface card, as shown by callout 3 in Figure 3.

Removing an interface card
CAUTION:
•Before you remove an interface card, remove the cable from it.
•After removing an interface card, if no new interface card is to
be installed, install the filler panel as soon as possible to
prevent dust and ensure good ventilation in the device.
Removing an LSWM2XGT2PM interface card
1. Prepare an anti-static bag.
2. Use the Phillips screwdriver to loosen the captive screw on the
interface card, as shown by callout 1 in Figure 4,
3. Rotate outward the ejector lever as shown by callout 2 in Figure 4.
4. Pull out the interface card slowly out the interface card slot as
shown by callout 3 in Figure 4.
5. Place the removed interface card in the anti-static bag.

Verifying the installation
After the installation is complete, identify whether the interface card is
operating correctly according to the status of the 1/10GBase-T port
LEDs.
If the interface card fails to operate correctly, perform the following
steps:
1. Reinstall it following the installation procedures described in this
document.
