Preparing for the installation

SMART includes a “mounting template” with each of its 600i interactive whiteboard

systems. This mounting template can NOT be used since the SMART board will hang

from the rail.

The first procedure is to plan where to position/mount the Unifi projector, make

sure it’s at a safe height, while maintaining enough space for airflow above the

unit.(see SMART’s instruction).

Be sure to position the projector bracket/KOH mounting spacers no less than 5"

(12.7 cm) from the ceiling to provide adequate airflow around the projector.

Locate a stud (if FRAMED WALL) near the location where you plan to mount the

projector, and mark it. You should attach one (1) of the two (2) spacers near the

center of the assembly to this stud.

Contrary to the regular 600i installation, you should install the SMART board on

the KOH rail system before you mount the projector. Because the distance

between the top of the smart board (top of the frame) to the bottom of

f

SMART’s “mounting plate” should be 3“ inches.

Preparing for the installation

Proceed to Installation

You should install the Smart board on the KOH rail system before you install the KOH

mounting spacers and projector.

1. Install KOH rail per instructions. (Above the whiteboard/blackboard if that is the

application).

2. Attach brackets to SMART board, and hang it on the rail.

NOTE: The KOH brackets allow for 8 different height settings of the SMART board.

You should use the top holes. Keep in mind you need 3” from the top of

3. Measure 3” from the top of the SMART board’s frame and mark it. This marks the

bottom where the KOH mounting block will be positioned/installed.

4. Attach SMARTs’ “mounting plate” using appropriate long screws or bolts (not

included in KOH kit).

5. Drill holes in the wall for the 2 holes on the side.

6. Mount the assembly on the wall with the bottom of the Smarts’ “mounting plate”

at the 3” mark. If you are mounting on a framed wall, mount one (1) of the

two (2) spacers in the center to a stud.

7. Proceed using SMART’s regular instructions for the 600i system.
