3. Tap safety
The safety lock feature is provided to
prevent boiling water flowing if the red
BOILING control is inadvertently activated.
This function can be activated and
deactivated from either the tap or from
the touch screen display (located on the
Command-CentreTM).
To activate the safety lock
(from the tap) Classic and Elite.
(Ensure ‘Allow safety settings change’ is
selected, see page 21).
First place a finger over the safety lock,
then depress the blue CHILLED lever
(Classic) or touch the CHILLED button
(Elite), keep both fingers in position for a
period of approximately ten seconds. The
safety lock indicator light will illuminate
(Classic) flash momentarily (Elite).
To deactivate the safety lock
(from the tap) Classic and Elite.
First place a finger over the safety lock,
then depress the blue CHILLED lever,
(Classic) or touch the CHILLED button
(Elite) while keeping both fingers in
position for a period of approximately ten
seconds. The safety lock indicator light
will extinguish (Classic) flash momentarily
(Elite).

To dispense boiling water (with the safety lock off)
Classic
Depressing the red BOILING lever allows the
dispensing of boiling water.
Pulling forward the red BOILING lever allows the
tap to operate in a “no-touch” mode.
Water will flow from between 5 and 15 seconds
(this is user adjustable, see page 22).
To reset, return the lever to the “off” position and
repeat the step. (The lever has to be manually
returned to the “off” position).
Elite
Touching the red BOILING button allows the
dispensing of boiling water.
Arc / Cube
Touch the SELECT button until the indicator and
select lights illuminate red. Rotating the control
when the indicator lights are illuminated red allows
the dispensing of boiling water.
To dispense boiling water (with the
safety lock on)
Classic
Depress the red BOILING lever, while
simultaneously covering the safety lock button with
a second finger. These two actions need to occur
within 2 seconds for the successful dispensing of
boiling water.
Elite
Place a finger on the safety lock, then touch the
boiling button, while keeping both fingers in position.
Arc / Cube
Touch the select button until the indicator, select and safety buttons illuminate
red, then touch the safety button twice until the three red lights flash, the lights
will flash for approx. 2 seconds if the tap control is not rotated, then the select,
safety and indicator lights will return to continually illuminated red (and after a
short period the select and indicator lights will return to continually illuminated
blue as a safety precaution).
Boiling water may be dispensed by rotating the control while the three red
illuminated lights are flashing.
While dispensing boiling water, all three red illuminated lights will continue to
flash.

The Elite tap uses
touch sensitive
controls to dispense
boiling and chilled
water.
When operating the
tap ensure the touch
surface is dry as
moisture may
interfere with the
sensor touch
control.
The safety lock can
be controlled from
either the tap or from
the touch screen
display in a similar
manner to the
Classic tap (See
page 21).
To dispense chilled water
Classic

The rotary control
is spring loaded
in the forward
direction and
when released,
will return to the
OFF position.
When rotated in the
reverse direction the
tap operates in a POT FILL mode. Water will flow from
between 5 and 15 seconds (This is user adjustable, see page 22). To reset,
return the control to the OFF position and repeat the step. The control has to
be manually returned to the OFF position.
To dispense boiling water see page 3.
To dispense chilled water see page 4.
When unattended, the control light will automatically default to the chilled
(blue illuminated)) mode after a short period.

Lifting the lever up will
increase the flow rate

Moving the lever away from the tap will increase the flow rate and moving
the lever towards the tap will decrease the flow rate. Move the lever to the
vertical position the lever will close the tap.
When the lever is moved in the direction of the blue dot, the temperature is
decreased and when moved in the direction of the red dot, the temperature is
increased. The final temperature will be dependant on the temperature of the
incoming cold water.

All-in-One tap
(for functionality other then the mixer tap operation, see Classic
models)
The top of the All-in-One tap is
operated in the same manner as
a Classic HydroTap®G4. The two
levers are used for dispensing
boiling and chilled water. The
safety lock operating in the
same manner as the Classic
HydroTap®G4.
The mixer tap lever is operated
as a conventional ‘flick mixer’.
The hot direction is marked with a
red dot and the cold direction with
a blue dot, for dispensing cold to
warm water.
Lifting the lever up will decrease
the flow rate and lowering the
lever will increase the flow rate.
Lift the lever all the way up to close the tap.
When the lever is moved in the direction of the blue dot, the temperature is
decreased and when moved in the direction of the red dot, the temperature
is increased. The final temperature will be dependant on the temperature
of the incoming cold water. The spout may be swivelled, left or right, for
convenience.

Procedure
• Shield the HydroTap®G4 from any
direct sunlight.
• With the Command-CentreTM in
normal operating mode and safety
enabled, turn the power off.
• Pull both tap levers to the forward
position.
• Turn the power on.
• The Command-CentreTM will calibrate
the safety switch.
• Return the levers to the neutral
position.
Light intensity varies from site to site, therefore it is recommended that a
recalibration be performed at the time of the installation.
All direct sunlight must be shaded from the HydroTap®G4, during the
calibration. This can be achieved by closing any nearby curtains, blinds, etc.

Blue CHILLED water lights (not

This indicates that the temperature of the
chilled water is within the set temperature
range.
Flashing slowly
This indicates that the chilled water is not within
the set temperature range. When the chilled
water is at the set temperature, the light will
stop flashing. This could take several minutes.
During heavy usage, the temperature can rise
out of this range.
Red BOILING water lights
all models
Continually illuminated
This indicates that the boiling water is ready.
Flashing slowly
This indicates that the boiling water is below
the set dispense temperature.
Wait for the light to stop flashing before
dispensing water. The light will typically flash
after switching on, or coming out of sleep
mode.

When the indicator light flashes fast and
continuous, a system fault has occurred.
Check for details on the faults screen. If
unable to rectify, call a qualified service
agent.

This indicates the filter is operating within its
normal specified lifespan.

The light will flash slowly when the filter is
due for replacement and the LCD will show
‘Filter Change. See ‘To change the filter’
page 22
