Tankisempty.DamagecouldoccurwithinoneminuteandthetwoHotTank
OverloadDevices(HighSafetyLimit)requiremanualresetifheateristurnedon
withanemptyHotTank.
CAUTION!DRIPTRAYDRAIN.
Ifyouintendtoprovideadriptraydrainforyourcustomer,beawarethatyou
willbecalledmultipletimespermonthtoserviceandunclogthetubingleading
awayfromthedriptraytodrain.Userswillclogthedrainwithpaperclips,
erasers,napkins,teabags,gum,andvariousotherintendeditems.Waterlogic
recommendsyouestablishaminimumofweeklyvisitstothemachinefor
cleaningofthedriptraydrain.

WaterPitcherorContainertocollectwaterfromthefaucet
5‐galloncontainerordrainbasin
Sanitizer‐HouseholdBleach(5.25%SodiumHypochlorite)orCitricAcidBasedCleaner
¼”PlasticTubing,atleast4feetinlength,andassorted¼”quickconnectfittings
TDSMeterandTestStripsformeasuringchlorine–Optional
SanitizingCartridge
1. UnpacktheWaterlogicWL400andcheckexteriorfordamage.
SanitizeusingaHouseholdBleach(5.25%SodiumHypochloritesolution)orotherapproved
cleanerthroughoutthecoldandsparklingwatercircuits.Followallinstructionsonthesanitizer
andflushwithfreshwaterthroughthefaucetuntilodorandtasteisacceptable.
WARNING!USEPROPERPERSONALPROTECTIVEEQUIPMENT
Alwaysensureproperventilationanduseproperpersonalprotectiveequipmentsuchasgloves
andeyeprotectionwhenusingchemicals.RefertoMaterialSafetyDataSheetforspecific
requirementsofeachchemicalproduct.Takeallnecessaryprecautionstopreventsanitizerfrom
contactingeyes,clothing,andanyothersurfacesincoulddamage(carpets).

2. Put1teaspoonofsanitizerperdirectionsoruseBleachSolution(1teaspoon=1/6oz.=5ml=½
capfull)ofhouseholdbleach(SodiumHypochlorite5‐10%Concentration)intheSanitizing
Cartridge.Alwaysensuresanitizeriscompatiblewithstainlesssteelandacetylplastic.
3. Connectsanitizingcartridgetoinletwatersupplyandconnecttoinletbulkheadfittingonbackof
unit.Turnonwatersupply.
4. ConnectpowertoWL400WaterTreatmentSystem.TurnonRedPowerSwitch.DONOTTURN
ONGREENHEATER/COMPRESSORSWITCHATTHISTIME.
CAUTION!NEVERTURNONHEATERBEFOREFILLINGHOTTANK.
GreenHeater/CompressorSwitchmustbeintheO=OFFposition
whilethehottankisempty.Damagecouldoccurwithinone
minuteandtheoverloads(highlimit)willrequiremanualresetif
heateristurnedonwithanemptyhottank.
FilltheColdCircuitwithSanitizer
5. DepresstheMainDispensingButtonontheFrontControlPaneluntilcoldwater/sanitizing
solutioncomesoutthefaucet.NOTE:Containeranddrainbasinwillberequiredtocatchthe
waterfromthefaucet.
WARNING!UsePersonalProtectiveEquipment.GlovesandEyeProtectionRequired.Thefirst
2or3gallonsofwaterwillcontainconcentratedsanitizer.Useextremecare!
6. TurnoffwatersupplyandremoveSanitizingCartridgefrominletwatersupply.Reconnectwater
supplytoInletBulkheadFitting.
FlushingtheSanitizerfromtheMachine
7. Flushthoroughlyperfiltermanufacturers’recommendationwithfreshwatertodrain.
8. Onceflushed,installtheFilters.Followingtheflowdirectiononthefilter.
NOTE:
Filtersshouldnotbeflushedpriorto24hoursbeforeinstallationtolimitMicrobial
Growth.

FlushFilters
CAUTION!FILTERFLUSHREQUIRED.
Inorderforourfilterstoperformasrepresentedandtoprovidethebestqualitywaterpossible,it
isessentialthatfiltersbereplacedperiodically.Thefrequencyoffilterchangesdependsuponyour
waterqualityandyourwaterusage.Forexample,ifthereisalotofsedimentand/orparticlesin
yourwater,thenyouwillhavetochangeyourfiltersmorefrequentlythanalocationwithlittleto
nosediment.Besuretoreplaceyourfilterswheneveryounoticeadeclineintheperformance,
whetheritisadropinflowrateand/orpressureoranunusualtasteinthewater.
10. CAUTION!NEVERTURNONHEATERBEFOREFILLINGHOTTANK.

whilethehottankisempty.Damagecouldoccurwithinone
minuteandtheoverloads(highlimit)willrequiremanualresetif
heateristurnedonwithanemptyhottank.
11. RemoveFrontPanelfromBaseCabinetopeningTopofPaneland
RemovingSlideBar.
12. AttachWL400WaterTreatmentSystemtoBaseCabinetwithLockingBoltprovided.
13. Connectwires(quickconnectclips)onbackofunitfromBaseCabinettoWL400Water
TreatmentSystem.
14. RemovePre‐CarbonandPostCarbonfiltersandflush5gallonsofwaterthrougheachfilter
separately.
15. ReinstallPreandPostCarbonFilters.
16. CloseRObypassandbladdertank.

WaterOutlineandruntoexternaldrain.
18. ConnectpowercordtoWL400WaterTreatmentSystemandturnonRedPowerSwitch.
19. ConnectpowertoWL400WaterTreatmentSystem.TurnonRedPower
SwitchI=ON.DONOTTURNONTHEGREENHEATER/COMPRESSOR
SWITCH

20. ConnectsupplywatertoWaterInFittingonbackofcabinet.TurnonwatersupplyandflushRO
systemtodrainfor4hours.WatershouldbedrainingfrombothWaterOutlineandtheDrain
Line.
21. After4hoursofflushing,turnOffIncomingWater.ConnectwaterlinefromtheBaseCabinetto
WaterInfittingonWL400WaterTreatmentSystem.
22. OpenBladderTankandturnonsupplywater.
23. AllowBladderTanktofillfor1hour.
24. FillHotTankforapproximately1minute.Depressboththe“Hot”and“ExtraHot”buttonsto
dispense.Redlightshouldilluminateabovethedispensingareaaftera2seconddelay.
25. Fillcoldtankforapproximately2minutes.TheBlueLightshould
illuminateabovedispensingarea.
26. TurnonGreenHeater/CompressorSwitch.
FilltheHotTank
27. PresstheHotWaterSelectButton,followedbythemaindispensingbuttontofillthehottank.
Waterwilldispensefromthefaucetoncethehottankisfull.Flushuntilwaterisclear.

Waterinthehotcircuitisnotsanitaryuntilthetemperatureexceeds171°F(77°C)foratleast5
minutes.
UVSystemFunctionalTest

NeverlookdirectlyatanoperatingUVlight.Disconnectwiringbeforeremoving.
28. RemoveUVFirewall™LampfromFirewall™housing.RemoveTopCoverfromFirewall™housing.
CarefullyremoveQuartzSleeveSpiralfromFirewall™Housingandinspectforcracksorother
damage.ReinsertQuartzSleeveSpiral,replacetopcoverofhousing.InspectUVlampand
reinsertintoHousing.
29. PressDispensingButtonandcheckforblueglowfromtopofFirewall™HousingandatFaucet
dispensingareatoensureUVlampisoperational.
30. DisconnectUVlamptotestUVlampsensoroperation.Unit
shouldalarmandUVIconondisplaywilllight.
31. DisconnectpowertoWL400WaterTreatmentSystem.
32. ReconnectUVlamp.
33. ConnectpowertoWL400WaterTreatmentSystem.
CompressorTest
34. SwitchGreenHeater/CompressortoonI=ONposition.Alwaysensuretanksare
fullofwaterbeforeturningontheheaterortheoverloads(highlimit)willopen
andrequiremanualreset.Ifthewirecondenseratbackoftheunitiswarm,the
refrigerationsystemisworking.
35. OncetheWL400WaterTreatmentSystemreachesitstargettemperature,thecompressorwill
shutoff.Drawaglassofcoldwaterandverifyitishasbeenchilledtopropertemperature.

36. AlwaysensuretanksarefullofwaterbeforeturningontheHeaterortheOverload(HighLimit)
willopenandrequiremanualreset.Itwilltaketheheaterapproximately10minutestoheatthe
waterfromambient75°F(24°C)tothefactorysetpointof185°F(85°C).Dispenseacupofhot
watertoensurethetemperature/odor/tasteisacceptable.
WARNING!VERYHOTWATERCANBURNORSCALD.
Hotwatershouldbedispensedcarefullyintoinsulatedcontainertoavoid

DrainingNotes
DraintheWL400WaterTreatmentSystemfortransportation.
WARNING!STOREUNITEMPTY.ALWAYSSANITIZEBEFOREREUSE.
Theunitmustbecompletelydrainedandsealedbeforestoringtoavoidstagnationandreduce
microbialgrowth).
PriortodrainingtheHotTank,turnOfftheGreenCompressor/Heater
switch(O=OFF),anddispense2litersofhotwaterfromthemachine.As
hotwaterisdispensedfromthefaucetoftheunit,colderwaterwillbe
introducedintothehottank.SinceGreenCompressor/Heaterswitchis
turnedoff,theheaterwillnotenergizeandheattheincomingtapwater.
Followingthisprecautionpreventsexposingpersonnelandequipment
(drains,catchbasin,etc.)toscaldinghotwater.
DisableColdandHotTanks
1. TurnofftheGreenHeater/Compressorswitchtodisabletheheaterand
compressor.
2. Dispense1literofwaterthroughthehottanktocoolthewater
temperatureinthehottankandavoidburns.
WARNING!WL400WaterTreatmentSystemproducesVERYHOTWATERupto203°F(95°C).
Waterabove125°F(52°C)cancausesevereburnsorscalding.Hotwatershouldbe
dispensedcarefullyintoinsulatedcontainertoavoidinjury.
TurnOffWaterSupplyandBleedWaterPressure
3. Isolatetheunitfromfeedwaterbyturningoffthesupply.
4. TurnoffBladderTank.
5. Dispensecoldstillwatertorelieveanypressurebuiltupinthesystem.
6. RemovescrewsfromSlideLockslocatedneardispenser.
7. PushSlideLocksinwardtowarddispensingarea.
8. PullcoverforwardandliftfromthefronttoopenTopCover.

9. DisconnectColdLinefromtopofColdTank.
10. RemoveDrainCapsandPlugfromColdWaterTankDrainonthebackof
theWL400WaterTreatmentSystem.
11. OpenBladderTank.
12. Afterunithasfinisheddraining,replacePlugandDrainCaps.
13. ReconnecttubingtoColdTank.
14. Closelid,closelocksandreplacescrewsinTopCover.
