READING THIS USER MANUAL YOU MUST KNOW THE FOLLOWING:
• It’s forbidden to use the transmitter beyond the frequency band 526.5-
1606.5KHz
• It is forbidden to use the transmitter without the legal license for broadcasting
a radio station or any other license officially granted by the state of each country
of the European Union.
• The antenna should have the appropriate wave length depending on the
emission frequency and 50 ohm impedance
• A special license for installing the antenna is required.

SIGNIFICANT NOTES AND CORRECT INSTALLATION
CONDITIONS
Important
Carefully read and save this manual, before you turn on the NB.Z2000
transmitter.
This manual includes important safety instructions and operation for the
transmitter.
Precautions
WARNING HIGH VOLTAGE
Don’t touch ever the antenna or the inside connection of the antenna
during the broadcast and the operation of the transmitter. This may cause
electrocution or burning of skin because of the high voltage drift.
Never let any object touch the inside parts or the connections at the
back of the transmitter. This may cause electrocution and major injury.
Never expose the NB.Z2000 to the rain or to any fluid, nor operate the
transmitter in an excessively dusty or very wet environment.
Never let children or unauthorized people operate the transmitter.
Avoid placing and using the transmitter in areas with temperatures below -15°C
or above 50°C
Avoid placing the transmitter with its back directly against a wall. This may block
the right circulation of the air and it may cause the transmitter to overheat. Don’t
cover the air inlets and exits on the right and left side and also at the back of the
transmitter.
If the transmitter placed in a RACK, you must take care to have the vacuum that
it needs on the right and left side, so that not to obstruct the air flow to the
transmitter.
Be careful when you connect the transmitter to a linear amplifier. Take into
consideration the limits of applications and functions of the amplifier. Control the
level RF-output of the NB.Z2000 less than the linear’s amplifier high level of input
for loss prevention of the amplifier.
Be careful with the protection limits of the transmitter. If you change the settings
to the protections surpassing the limits that have been set by the manufacturer,
there is a big danger of destroying the transmitter.

NOTES ABOUT THE PLACING
When selecting the place of NB.Z2000 operation, we have in mind the general
limitation about the environmental conditions as they describe to the
specifications and precautions.
Choose the place of the installation, so that all the connections of NB.Z2000 can
be accessible at any time.
Choose a socket that is able to withstand the requirement of the power. Connect
the NB.Z2000 with a suitable system at the ground –is very important for the
high operation of any AM transmitter, especially when you use a high voltage
external amplifier. In the past the grounding in a copper water pipe is used for
this purpose very often. The recent reviews to the National Electric Code have
shown that this practice is a violation of the code. We must be reminded of the
fact that the modern water supply and facilities use plastic pipe that can’t be use
as grounding.
Never use in connection a gas or an electrical conductor. It may cause explosion
or electrocution. A good grounding system not only prevents electrocution, but it
helps to ensure seamless operation and reduces interference to the TV and to
TVI/BCI.
ANTENNA TUNER
The standing wave ratio (SWR) can be increased significantly when we use an
antenna outside the frequencies range, for which it is coordinated. The final
power of the amplifier will operate to its maximum performance only when its
dummy load is resistor, viz the swr are nearly to the 10 reflections.
The right ohmic resistance in cooperation with the properly at wavelength
constructed antenna, but also the adequate grounding, will allow the NB.Z2000 to
attach correctly with maximum power and without energizing any of the
protections.
Attention: all the above also applies for any amplifier that may potentially be set
in operation after the NB.Z2000 and to strengthen the signal. The wrong ohmic
input resistance of the amplifier will set in danger the NB.Z2000 and probably will
change its characteristics.
In case that you have any of the two above problems, it would be good to ask
help from an expert.

INSTALLATION AND CONNECTION
The NB.Z2000 at the back side of the unit has a female plug like cannon, with
which connects the sound from the output of the console, or of one sound editor.
The connection of the cannon’s pin becomes balance Pin2+ Pin 1- Pin3
grounding.
At the front side of the transmitter there is the Mod Gain potentiometer,
with which fixed the modulation rate of the transmitter.
At the back side of the transmitter it is located a connector type N
for the transmitter’s output and for the connection with the antenna.
Never try to connect the antenna with the open transmitter.
To the front side of the transmitter is located the potentiometer to
increase the level of the transmitter’s power.
Welcoming AC LINE input of alternating current for the main
provisioning of the transmitter and kit with security 6 amp for its protection.
Never try to replace the security with the transmitter to be connected to
the power supply.

Connection PTT and connection of a distant standby. To the back side of the
transmitter you can find the female 9pin plug to connect a button with which you
could set the transmitter in standby condition and conversely if you connect an
external button to pin 9-5.
To pin 1-2 when the transmitter is in standby condition, you have 12Volt 50ma
Pin 1+12 volt pin6 grounding. With this voltage you can drive a second relay and
to manage it depending of your requirements. ( Normal close-Normal Open)
At the front side of the transmitter there is a line with indicatively LED
which are always lit up when the transmitter is working correctly. Every LED
shows one Volt. If one of the LEDs is off, that means that one of the fuses of the
small power supply is burned and it must be replaced.
The little power supply with the many volts, is in the
bottom of the transmitter and all the fuses of the machine is there, unless of the
central fuse AC which is in the back side of the transmitter at the top of the
female plug 220V.
Never try to replace a fuse with the transmitter open and connected with
the central supply.

FUNCTION DESCRIPTION OF THE TRANSMITTER
The NB.Z2000 is a DDS EXCITER with modulation AM, high power 100Watt carrier
(400watt P.E.P.) and programmed to send out from 500KHz-2000Khz.
It is equipped with all the protections that it needs, so that the unit never be risk
from a wrong manipulation or from an unpredictable problem like the antenna,
excessive temperature e.t.c
The NB.Z2000 features high current returnable SWR (reflection) protection,
protection for excessive output power and protection for excessive temperature of
the amplifier.
All the protections are accessible and their rates can be defined by the user.
At the front side of the transmitter there is the screen, which
portray the power of the transmitter and the reflections, the rate of the
modulation and the amplifier’s temperature. The measurement of the watt meter
is exact and the measurement shown to P.E.P.
The NB.Z2000 dispose acoustic filter NRSC-1 10KHz and optionally 6KHz
4KHz.
1OKHz Test On Air
At the right side you can see the depiction of the headset range 10KHz to
a receiver SDR.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE MENU OF THE TRANSMITTER

First screen during startup of the transmitter:
When the transmitter activated from the power button that there is at the right
side of the front of the transmitter and before it starts to stopwatch conversely
for 7 seconds, at this point the mechanicals of the transmitter gives the ability to
the user of the transmitter in that period of the 7 seconds and before the
transmitter starts to send out, to freeze actually the start of the machine with a
touch to the button ST.BY and he sets it in emergency stand by condition.
This operation added to the menu of the transmitter for many significant reasons
and it is very useful to avoid some mistakes or problems at the start.
