Unpacking & Setting Up
ExtrusionBot.

Out of the Box
When unboxing ExtrusionBot, you will notice that we have made a few minor
adjustments in the presentation of the machine for convenience and safety in
shipping. The bot is still ready to be used, you will just need to adjust a few
things to make it operational.
As you remove ExtrusionBot from the box there will be some pieces of tape
guarding the spool motor and maintaining the rubber spool holder in place.
Also, there will be a bag attached to the machine, just above the spool motor,
with your keys to operate ExtrusionBot as well as the nozzles you ordered.
You will need to rotate the spool motor 90° counterclockwise to ensure that the
spool motor is in the correct operating position.

The rubber spool holder should be on with the metal-ringed side facing out and
should rotate toward the machine freely (spinning counterclockwise).
If you attempt to rotate it away from the machine (clockwise) there should be
some tension to prevent you from doing so; this feature helps ensure that the
spool does not unravel your filament during the extruding process.
The fan will also need to be rotated down about 45° or to your own preferred
angle.
**For best results during the extruding process please do not install the nozzle
after reading the “Operating ExtrusionBot” section of this manual. **
Out of the Box (continued)
Metal Ringed Side
Facing out.
90°

The Spool (sold separately)
When installing the spool, the side that has the ½” depression is the side that
needs to be facing away from the spool motor. With the rubber spool holder in
place the spool should hang level.
The Pellet Hopper
The stock pellet hopper that comes installed on ExtrusionBot can easily be
interchanged with the Jumbo Pellet hopper.
To remove the pellet hopper, grip the top of the pellet hopper and gently twist
clockwise and counter-clockwise while also pulling upward from the top of the
machine.
To install the pellet hopper, place the bottom of the pellet hopper over the mouth
of the pellet tube and gently but firmly push the pellet hopper onto the pellet
tube. The pellet hopper should fit snugly around the mouth of the pellet tube.
