Only connect measuring cells to the measuring instrument that do not return

any unallowed voltages or currents (> SELV and > current circuit with current

limiting).

Almost all measuring cells - in particular WTW measuring cells - fulfill these

conditions.

Overview of the measuring modes:

Special functions:

AutoRead

(drift control)

The AutoRead function checks the stability of the measurement signal. Acti-

vate AutoRead with <AR>. The current measured value is frozen. Thus, the

<AR> key can also be used as a "hold function" to freeze measured values.

Press <RUN/ENTER> to start the AutoRead measurement. During the Auto-

Read measurement, AR flashes on the display until a stable measured value

is reached. This can be terminated at any time taking over the current mea-

sured value with <RUN/ENTER>.

AutoRange

measuring range

There are several measuring ranges available for conductivity measure-

ments. If a measuring range is exceeded, AutoRange causes the measuring

instrument to change automatically to the next measuring range. The AutoR-

ange function is permanently switched on (display shows ARng).

Temperature

measurement

The measuring instrument automatically measures the temperature of the

sample with the integrated temperature probe of the conductivity measuring

cell (display shows TP). The measuring instrument automatically recognizes

the type of the temperature probe used. This enables the measuring cells to

be connected with NTC30 or Pt1000.

Reference

temperature, Tref

The reference temperature can be switched between 20 °C and 25 °C. It ap-

pears on the display as Tref20 or Tref25. To switchover the reference tem-

perature, see CONFIGURING.

zPress the <>key.

Display test appears briefly on the display.

Subsequently, the selected cell constants and the temperature compen-

sation that was set up appear for approx. one second one after the other.

The measuring instrument then switches to the measuring mode that

was last selected.

Determining/Selecting the cell constant C

The cell constant of the conductivity measuring cell can be set to one of the

following values:

z0.475 cm-1

z0.100 cm-1

z0.875 cm-1

Note

The cell constant that should be selected must either be taken from the op-

erating manual of the measuring cell or is printed on the measuring cell.

Procedure for setting up the cell constant:

zPress the <CAL> key repeatedly until the CELL display appears.

zThen press the <RUN/ENTER> key.

zPress the <CAL> key repeatedly until the required cell constant appears

in the lower line of the display.

Selection: 0.475 cm-1; 0.100 cm-1 ; 0.875 cm-1

zSwitch to the measuring mode with <M>.

The basis for calculating the temperature compensation is the selected refer-

ence temperature, Tref 25 or Tref 20. For details of how to select the refer-

ence temperature, see CONFIGURATION.

You can select from the following settings:

You can leave the configuration menu at any time with <M> . The parameters

that have already been changed are stored.

The following settings are reset to the delivery status when a reset is per-

formed (initialized):

Reset procedure:

zSwitch off the measuring instrument.

zWhile pressing the <M> key, press <>.

zSwitch over the reference temperature of the conductivity with <CAL>.

Selection: 25 °C (Tref25) and 20 °C (Tref20).

zThen press the <RUN/ENTER> key.

zSwitch over the measurement value display with <CAL>.

Selection: Conductivity (S/cm) or specific resistance (MΩ⋅cm).

zPress the <RUN/ENTER> key. The instrument changes to the measur-

ing mode.
