How to get started
GETTING STARTED
1. Install the MUONIO Application (App) or use the weblink
2. Create an account
3. Connect your account to the specic gateway
4. Add devices to the network
5. Set up the network
1. INSTALL THE APP
Before starting you should install the app. Open the app using your phone
and the link below (or scan QR code) and you will nd install links icons on
the bottom of the page.
https://www.muonio.me
Both the web version and app version are capable of fully controlling the
system through the server (Online) and also through the local network (LAN)
in cases where the internet goes down for some reason or when the system
is connected to the app for the rst time. Due to the G1 Gateway limitations
& to get the most out of the full system functionality, it is recommended to
use the app through the server whenever possible.
2. CREATE AN ACCOUNT
To create an account, click on SIGN UP when you open the APP (Figure 2). You will be prompted to enter your
email and password (Figure 3). You will receive a conrmation email if done correctly. The MUONIO system does
not ask you for any personal data.
FIGURE 1. INSTALLATION LINK
FIGURE 2. SIGN UP MENU FIGURE 3. CREATE ACCOUNT SCREEN

How to get started
3. CONNECT YOUR ACCOUNT TO A SPECIFIC GATEWAY
To set up a new system and to connect it to your account you will rst need to connect the Gateway (G1) to your local
network.
Connect one side of the ethernet cable (supplied with the device) to the gateway (Figure 4), connect the other side of the
ethernet cable to any available port on your router, connect the external antenna to the gateway (gure 4), connect
the power supply (supplied with the device) to the Gateway (Figure 4) and power up the device. If everything is OK, the
Gateway will automatically connect to the router.
Tip: If DHCP is not assigned, the internal LED in the gateway will keep blinking. You can also check if the router has granted
an IP address to the Gateway (to do this you will need to access the router interface - the process to do this will depend on
the type of router). If connected the Gateway should appear on the router list of devices with assigned IP addresses.
Once the GATEWAY is connected successfully to the router, it can communicate locally and/or to the server if an internet
connection exists. In the APP click the LAN button and the search for a local gateway will begin. If you are doing it through
the WEB link you will need to enable `load unsafe content` before searching for LAN. On the login page (Figure 2) press
the LAN button. The system will then start to search for locally connected Gateways (Figure 5). Before this make sure that
your phone or computer is connected to the same WIFI network as the Gateway so they can communicate locally.
FIGURE 4. GATEWAY
FIGURE 5. LOCAL SEARCH SCREEN
FIGURE 6. LIST OF GATEWAYS ON LAN
You should now be able to see the Gateway connected to the router or list of Gateways if more than 1 Gateway is
connected to the same router (FIG.6). There can be more than one Gateway connected locally (in the same LAN). Press
the JOIN button for the Gateway you wish to select and wait for the app to open the home page. If the Gateway is being
connected for the rst time there should be no devices/zones set up in the network. From this point, you can go to the
USERS menu (see FIG.7).
The antenna attached to the Gateway is an external type.
Depending on the Gateway the antenna may be as shown
in gure 4 or with an additional cable.

How to get started
At this point, it is possible to add/remove users from the account. All users added here will have the same level of
access/control of the system.
Go to the USERS page to see the existing system users.
To add another user insert the new user’s email address in the tab marked ‘Invite’ and press SEND (see FIG.8). Make
sure that the new user you invite already has created an account. If the internet is available, data will be sent to the
server and you will be able to login to that Gateway from anywhere.
FIGURE 7. MENU AFTER LOGIN
FIGURE 8. USERS INVITE
YOU CAN ALWAYS LOGIN LOCALLY AND DELETE/ADD USERS AS REQUIRED.
Log in to your account and you will be able to see the particular GATEWAY connected to your account (make sure
you have an internet connection). Go to the SETTINGS page to see the MAC address of the GATEWAY. It should be
the same as one that you are connected to locally.

How to get started
4. Adding devices to the network
Once you have created an account and connected it to the Gateway you can start to add devices to the
network. The MUONIO system is capable of integrating/organizing various devices, all of which work
together through a mesh network. To make it easier for the end-user to create a mesh network the
MUONIO system uses an ID KEY device for creating/adding other devices to the network and resetting
the network if required. In a mesh network, instead of all the system devices communicating with the
Gateway as in a traditional system, the system devices communicate with the devices closest to them.
The signal then jumps from device to device before reaching the Gateway, this means that the system
can have a greater range without the need for large antennas or signal ampliers.
FIGURE 8. ID KEY
PROGRAMMING THE ID KEY
1) With the power to the gateway switched o, insert the ID
KEY into the Gateway (See Figure 4 for the exact position).
2) Power up the Gateway
3) The ID KEY should now be programmed (wait for at least
30 seconds to make sure it is successfully programmed).
USING THE ID KEY TO ADD DEVICES TO THE NETWORK
1) Make sure the G1 Gateway is properly connected to the local network and powered up.
2) Make sure the device you want to join the network is in the proximity of the G1 Gateway.
3) With the power to the device switched o, Insert the ID KEY into the device you want to add to the
network.
4) Power up the device (SEE FIG 9 FOR EXAMPLE)
FIGURE 9. SENSOR WITH ID KEY INSERTED
Insert the ID KEY into the air quality sensor
as shown in Figure 9. Power up the Sensor by
inserting the batteries
If done correctly the sensor should be added to
the network and will appear within the app in a
maximum of a couple of minutes.

How to get started
When a device is properly added to the network it will appear on the app within a few moments. In this example,
the sensor added is shown on the HOME page but it will also appear on the SETTINGS page.
TIPS: Make sure the ID KEY is properly programmed before you try to join a device to the network.
There is a maximum number of devices/zones that can be added to the network. If you exceed this limit,
you will be unable to add more devices to the network, you can add additional Gateways to the network
to increase the maximum number of devices/zones.
FIGURE 10. SENSORS ADDED TO THE NETWORK WILL AUTOMATICALLY SHOWN UP IN THE APP
