Foreword
RF Energy Exposure and Product Safety Guide for
Portable Two-Way Radios
Attention!
Before using this product, read the RF Energy Exposure and
Product Safety Guide that ships with the radio which contains
instructions for safe usage and RF energy awareness and control
for compliance with applicable standards and regulation.
Acoustic Safety
Exposure to loud noises from any source for extended periods of
time may temporarily or permanently affect your hearing. The
louder the volume of the radio, the less time is required before
your hearing can be affected. Hearing damage from loud noises
is sometimes undetectable at first and can have a cumulative
effect. To protect your hearing:
• Use the lowest volume necessary to do your job.
• Increase the volume only if you are in noisy surroundings.
• Reduce the volume before connecting headset or earpiece.
• Limit the amount of time you use headsets or earpieces at high
volume.
• When using the radio without a headset or earpiece, do not
place the radio speaker directly against your ear.

Description
The PMLN6833 Heavy Duty Temple Transducer with Boom
Microphone uses a bone vibration speaker for receiving and a
boom microphone for transmitting. Unlike traditional headsets,
the Heavy Duty Temple Transducer headset allows the ears of
the user to be uncovered and completely free to hear surrounding
environmental sounds, while using the two-way portable radio.
This Heavy Duty Temple Transducer is designed for all-day
comfort and the frame can be adjusted to an exact fit. In
environments with excessive background noise, users can simply
use foam earplugs as necessary while the headband remains in
place.
The PMLN6833 Heavy Duty Temple Transducer with Boom
Microphone includes an adjustable, over-the-head band that fits
securely on top of the head, decreasing the likelihood that the
headset could be knocked off during unexpected or sudden
movements. The Heavy Duty Temple Transducer also enables
the user to wear a helmet, hat or other head gear comfortably
over the headset.

6. Press and hold down the Push-to-Talk (PTT) button or if
applicable, select Voice Activation (VOX) and begin speaking
in order to transmit.
Note: Your microphone will return to the receiving mode when you
release the PTT button after you finish speaking.
You may actually feel the Heavy Duty Temple Transducer shake
or vibrate when the receive volume is too high. For more
comfortable use, set the receive volume to an appropriate level
on your portable radio. If the receive audio is not loud enough
(such as in a very noisy environment), use foam or rubber
earplugs. When you use foam or rubber earplugs, you may or
may not have to increase the receive volume to achieve a higher
receiving audio from the Heavy Duty Temple Transducer.

Préface
Radios bidirectionnelles portatives : exposition aux
radiofréquences et sécurité du produit
Attention!
