CAUTION:
XBMremotestartcanONLYbeinstalledonvehiclesthathavethefollowingfactoryoptions:AutomaticTrans
mission,RemoteKeylessEntryandImmobilizer.
WinFobikbasedvehicles,thesalescodemustbeaddedtothedatabasepriortoinstallingthenewWCMmodule.
FailuretodosowillrendertheWCMmodule’sremotestartfunctioninoperative.
Thetechnicianshouldwait1/2hourbetweenaddingXBMsalescodeinDealerConnectbeforeinstallingthe
WCMmodule.Intheinterim,thetechniciancaninstallallothercomponentsexcepttheWCMmodule.
NOTE:Priortoinstallation,obtainthefourdigitPINfromthedealership'spartsdepartment.
NOTE:ThewiTECHsoftwarelevelmustbeatthelatestreleasetoperformthisprocedure.
NOTE:Priortoinstallation,thetechnicianshouldcuttheKEYFOBIKBlanksusingtheoriginalvehicle'sKey
FOBIKasatemplate.
1.VINmustbeupdatedwiththesalescodeoftheaddedaccessoryinordertoenablesystemfunctionality.Usingthe
DealerCONNECTwebsiteandthewiTECHdiagnosticapplication,completethevehicleconfiguration.
2.Logontohttps://dealerconnect.chrysler.com.
3.OntheHomepage,selectthe"Service"tab.
4.OntheServicepage, look for the Warranty Administration box and select "Vehicle Options Updates".
5.OntheVehicleOptionpage,enterthelasteightdigitsoftheVIN,thenselect"View".
6.Onthe"AvailableVehicleOption'"list,scrolldownthelistandselect"XBMRemoteStartSystem".
7.Clickthe"Add"buttonandmakesure"XBMRemoteStartSystem"appearsinthe"SelectedVehicleOption"liston
theright.
8.Clickthe"Save"buttontocompleteaddingthesalescodetothevehicledatabase.

1.Priortoinstallation,locatethehoodswitchconnec
tor/harness(1)locatedundertheupperradiatorcross
member(2)neartheinsideleftfrontfenderwherethe
hoodlatchcable(3)isrouted.Iftheconnector/har
nessispresentitwillbeattachedtotheelectriccooling
fanshroud.Ifthehoodswitchconnector/harness
isnotpresent,usethesuppliedwiringharnessin
thekitandrefertothenextsectiontitledHOOD
SWITCHANDHARNESSINSTALLATION(IFFAC
TORYHOODSWITCHCONNECTOR/HARNESSIS
NOTPRESENT).

2.Disconnectandisolatethebatterynegativecable.
Waittwominutesforthesystemcapacitortodischarge
beforefurtherservice.
3.Usingagreasepencilorequivalent,marktheposition
ofthehoodlatch(1)ontheupperradiatorcrossmem
ber.
4.Disconnectthehoodlatchcable(2)fromthehood
latch(2).
5.Removethetwobolts(3)thatsecurethehoodlatch
(1)totheupperradiatorcrossmemberandremovethe
hoodlatch(1).
6.Detachthehoodswitchconnector/harnessfromthe
electriccoolingfanshroudandrouteittothehood
latcharea.
7.Connectthehoodlatchcable(3)tothehoodlatchas
sembly(2).
8.Connectthehoodswitchharness(1)tothehoodlatch
assembly(2).
9.Positionthehoodlatchassembly(2)totheupperra
diatorcrossmemberandlooselyinstallthetwobolts
(4)thatsecurethelatchtothecrossmember.
10.Alignthehoodlatchassembly(2)totheupperradiator
crossmemberusingthereferencemarksmadeduring
theremovalprocedureandtightenthebolts(4)to11
N∙m(8ft.lbs.).
11.Usingthesuppliedtiewrapsinthekit,securethehood
switchtakeoffharnesstotheexistingvehicleharness
locatedundertheupperradiatorcrossmember.

1.Disconnectandisolatethebatterynegativecable.
Waittwominutesforthesystemcapacitortodischarge
beforefurtherservice.
2.Usingagreasepencilorequivalent,marktheposition
ofthehoodlatch(1)ontheupperradiatorcrossmem
ber.
3.Disconnectthehoodlatchcable(2)fromthehood
latch(1).
4.Removethetwobolts(3)thatsecurethehoodlatch
(1)totheupperradiatorcrossmemberandremovethe
hoodlatch(1).
5.RemovethecoverfromtheTotallyIntegratedPower
Module(TIPM)(1).
6.Usingasuitableflatbladetool,disengagetheTIPM's
upperretainingtabs(2)andliftuptoremovetheTIPM
(1)fromit'sbracket.
7.GrasptheTIPMandrotatetheassemblyuptofreeit
fromitsmountingbracket.Positiontheassemblyup
righttoaccesstheelectricalconnectorslocatedonthe
bottomoftheunit.
8.Removethegrayconnectormarked"B"(1).

10.Locatecavity11(11)inthe"B"connector.
11.Inserttheviolet/whitewirepin(1)fromthehoodswitch
harnessintocavity11(11)ofthe"B"connector.Make
surethatthepinisthoroughlyengagedintothecavity.

12.Installthesecondarylock(1)intothe"B"connector
(2).
13.Reconnectthe"B"connectorintotheTIPM.
14.InstalltheTIPM(1)ontoit'sbracket.Makesurethe
TIPM'supperretainingtabs(2)fullyengage.
15.InstallthecoverbackontoTIPM(1).

locatedontheupperradiatorcrossmember(4)andin
stallthehoodswitchharnessground(2).
17.Installtheretainingnut(3)tothegroundstud(1).
18.Routethehoodswitchharnesstothehoodlatcharea.
19.Connectthehoodlatchcable(3)tothehoodlatchas
sembly(2).
20.Connectthehoodswitchharness(1)tothehoodlatch
assembly(2).
21.Positionthehoodlatchassembly(2)totheupperra
diatorcrossmemberandlooselyinstallthetwobolts
(4)thatsecurethelatchtothecrossmember.
22.Alignthehoodlatchassembly(2)totheupperradiator
crossmemberusingthereferencemarksmadeduring
theremovalprocedureandtightenthebolts(4)to11
N∙m(8ft.lbs.).
23.Usingthesuppliedtiewrapsinthekit,securethehood
switchtakeoffharnesstotheexistingvehicleharness
locatedundertheupperradiatorcrossmember.
WIRELESSCONTROLMODULE(WCM)ANDREMOTESTARTANTENNAINSTALLATION
WARNING:Toavoidseriousorfatalinjuryonvehiclesequippedwithairbags,disabletheSupplementalRestraint
System(SRS)beforeattemptinganysteeringwheel,steeringcolumn,airbag,seatbelttensioner,impactsensor
orinstrumentpanelcomponentdiagnosisorservice.Disconnectandisolatethebatterynegative(ground)ca
ble,thenwaittwominutesforthesystemcapacitortodischargebeforeperformingfurtherdiagnosisorservice.
ThisistheonlysurewaytodisabletheSRS.Failuretotaketheproperprecautionscouldresultinaccidental
airbagdeployment.

1.Removethescrews(2)fromthebottomofthesteering
columnopeningcover(1).
2.UsingtrimstickC4755orequivalent,separatethe
steeringcolumnopeningcover(1)andremove.
NOTE:Steeringwheelremovedforclarity.
3.Positionthecolumntiltatthefulldownwardposition.
4.Removethetwoscrews(4)attachingtheupper
shroud(1)tothelowershroud(2).Afterremoving
thescrews,uncliptheshroudsfromeachotherby
applyinghandpressurealongtheseamswherethe
shroudsconnectonthesides,thenremovetheupper
shroud.
5.Removethescrew(3)attachingthelowershroud(2)
tothesteeringcolumn(6).Removethelowershroud.
6.CarefullyremovetheUclip(1)fromtheremotestart
antennaharness.

CAUTION:Usecautionwhenpullingoutthecenter
bezel,damagemayoccurtotheplasticclipsorgear
posts.
7.UsingtrimstickC4755orequivalent,carefullyprythe
centerbezel(2)awayfromtheinstrumentpanel.
8.Disconnecttheelectricalandmechanicalconnections
fromtheHVACcontrols.
9.Removethecenterbezelfromthevehicle.
10.Removeanddisconnecttheradio.

11.Removetheadhesivebackingononesideofthetwo
sidedtape(1)suppliedinthekitandapplytothebot
tomsideoftheremotestartantennamodule(1).
12.Pressthetape(2)firmlyfor30secondstoinsure
properadhesion.
13.Usingafishtapeorequivalent,routetheantennahar
nessfrominsidethecenterstackarea,totheopening
(1)neartheleftsideoftheradiobracket,justbehind
theI/Psupportbracket.Routetheharnesstowards
thesteeringwheel/lowerkneebolstercoverarea.
14.CleanandpreptheflatsurfaceoftheI/Psupport
bracket(1)withisopropylalcohol.
15.Removetheremainingadhesivebackingfromthe
twosidedtapeandplacetheremotestartantenna(2)
ontheflatsurfaceoftheI/Psupportbracket(1).The
remotestartantennamodulemustbeplaceon
theflatsurfaceonly,makesurethatthemodule
isclearofanymetalparts.
16.Pressdownfirmlyonthetopoftheantennamodule
(2)for30secondstoinsureproperadhesion.
