1. Loo en one (1) 10mm bolt and di connect
negative battery cable
2. Open hood. Carefully pry off ix (6) panel clip from
the radiator cover panel. Remove the panel.
NOTE: IT IS RECO ENDED TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS THOROUGHLY BEFORE INSTALLING THIS ACCESSORY.
CAUTION: XB remote start can ONLY be installed on vehicles that have the following factory options: Automatic
Transmission, Remote Keyless Entry and Immobilizer. The XB sales code must be added to the database
and the Restore Vehicle Configuration (using a diagnostic scan tool) must be performed prior to installing the
new RFH module. Failure to do so will render the RFH module'92s remote start function inoperative. The
technician should wait 1/2 hour between adding XB sales code in DealerConnect before installing the RFH
module and restoring vehicle configuration. In the interim, the technician can install all other components except
the RFH module.
ADD SALES CODE TO VEHICLE IN DealerCONNECT. Obtain 4-digit PIN number from authorized dealer hip per onnel.
NOTE: The wiTECH software level must be at the latest release to perform this procedure.
NOTE: Vehicle VIN must be updated with the sales code of the added accessory in order to enable system
functionality. Using the DealerCONNECT web site and the scan tool, complete the procedure below:
1. Log on to http ://dealerconnect.chry ler.com.
2. In the "Service tab"-"Warranty Admini tration" box -"Vehicle Option Update " creen, enter the vehicle VIN and add
the ale code XBM (Remote tart) a a "Dealer In talled Option".
3. Confirm that the new ale code ha been ucce fully added to the VIN.
PROCEDURE STEPS:
WARNING: To avoid serious or fatal injury on vehicles equipped with airbags, disable the Supplemental Restraint
System (SRS) before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, airbag, seat belt tensioner, impact sensor
or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative (ground) cable,
then wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service.
This is the only sure way to disable the SRS. Failure to take the proper precautions could result in accidental
airbag deployment.

3. U e a grea e pencil to mark the po ition of the
hood latch on the radiator cro member.
Remove two (2) 10mm hex bolt from the hood latch
a embly.
4. Di connect and remove the hood latch relea e cable.
Remove the hood latch a embly.
5. Reconnect the hood latch relea e cable to the back of
new hood latch a embly. Po ition the new hood
latch (A) with the alignment mark and ecure with
two (2) hex bolt . Tighten bolt to 11 Nm (8 ft. lb .)

NOTE: A factory installed switch harness may be
present located behind the radiator just below the
upper radiator crossmember. If so, detach the
connector, route it under the crossmember and
plug it in to the hood latch assembly. If the harness
is not present, follow steps 6 through 12.
6. Connect hood witch harne (B) to the hood
latch a embly.
7. Route the witch harne (B) under the upper radiator
cro member and over toward the driver ide along
the exi ting vehicle harne . Secure with cable tie (E).
NOTE: Cable ties should be installed no farther
than 100mm apart.
8. Route the witch harne (B) under the driver ide
radiator mounting bracket. Carefully feed the harne
back toward the rear of the engine compartment by
routing it behind and under the fu e box and the
battery. Secure with cable ties every 100mm as
necessary (E).

10. Locate the rubber grommet at the back of the engine
compartment. Cut away the end of the acce nipple
and feed the end of harne (B) through to the in ide
driver footwell. Apply RTV ealant to the hood witch
wiring convolute and pull the wiring into the nipple
to eal the wiring at the nipple.
11. Remove two fa tener at the bottom of the trim panel
under the teering wheel and carefully pry off the hood
relea e latch. Di connect the data link connector and
pry off the trim panel. Pull the Switch Harne (B)
through to the in ide footwell.
9. At the fender edge next to the battery, remove the
exi ting ground wire hex nut. Po ition the ground
ring terminal from the main harne (B) and reattach
the nut to ecure.

13. Loo en the two (2) 7mm amplifier bracket
mounting crew .
14. Loo en the one (1) 7mm amplifier bracket mounting
crew located at the top of the bracket. Remove the
amplifier and bracket a embly from the vehicle.

12. Di connect two (2) wire harne plug from the
bottom of the amplifier.

13. Pre in on the relea e tab at the back of
the connector and lide the plug out from the
outer ca ing.

12. Locate the BCM up behind the left ide of the da h.
Locate and remove the top left connector from the
BCM a indicated.

14. Locate Pin 11 on the connector.
NOTE: If Pin 11 has a factory harness wire present,
remove the factory wire and tape it back on
the harness.
18. Bundle and tow any exce harne under the da h
with cable tie . Reconnect the data link connector
and hood relea e latch and rein tall the trim panel
under the teering wheel. Rein tall two (2) fa tener
under the bottom edge of the panel.
15. In ert the tab wire connector from witch harne (B)
into Pin 11 on the connector.
16. Rein tall the outer ca ing and plug the connector
back into the BCM.
17. If necessary, rever e tep 12 - 14 to rein tall the
audio amplifier.

19. Move eat forward.
20. Fold rear eatback forward.
21. Skip forward to tep 28, Rear Storage Bin removal.
22. If Standard Cab and no Rear Storage Bin, kip forward to tep 29, A/B Pillar Removal Steps.
23. If ega Cab and no Rear Storage Bin, kip forward to tep 30, B/C Pillar Removal Steps.
CREW CAB AND QUAD CAB
NOTE: If 60/40 split bench seats, only remove driver side rear seat. If full bench seat, remove entire seat assembly.
NOTE: 60/40 bench seat shown, solid bench seat similar.
24. Di connect one (1) electrical connector, if equipped.

25. Remove one (1) bolt attaching the center houlder
belt to the retractor. Po ition the houlder belt
out of the way.
26. Remove the rear outer bolt , rear inner bolt and
buckle a nece ary.
27. Remove the front fa tener . Lift the eat a emblie up and eparate three (3) cab hook from the rear loop .
Remove the eat a embly from the vehicle.
