1 Device Appearance

The appearances shown in this document may differ from the actual appearances of the products. The

actual products prevail.

Port/Butto

Description

Power

supply

Connects to the power adapter.

GE port

10/100/1000 Mbits/s ports are used to connect to the wired Ethernet.

Optical port

Supports GPON upstream access. The optical port also supports power over

fiber (POF) input.

Reset

button

Indicates the reset button. Press the button for a short time to restart the

device. Press and hold the button for more than 10s to restore the factory

2 Networking Scenario

Issue 04 (2023-10-30)

2 Networking Scenario

The main FTTR and a sub FTTR are connected using an FTTR ADU and PoF cable.

Automatic networking between the main FTTR and sub FTTR, and plug-and-play

In the FTTR for SME scenario, sub FTTRs must be used together with a main FTTR and FTTR ADUs.

3 Determining the Installation Position

Issue 04 (2023-10-30)

3 Determining the Installation Position

Installation personnel need to manually record the MAC addresses and deployment positions of devices

for commissioning engineers to configure. For example, the location information can be recorded on the

package as a reference for changing the alias by scanning a bar code using WeFTTR app.

You can scan the QR code on the back of the device to obtain the quick start guide.

Generally, the device is installed on a wall or ceiling by using a mounting bracket. The

installation position is determined by the site survey. At least 200 mm clearance must be

reserved between the cable outlet of the device and the wall. Figure 3-1 shows the installation

clearance requirements.

Figure 3-1 Installation reference diagram

When determining the installation position, comply with the following rules:

Minimize the number of obstacles (such as walls) between the device and STAs.

3 Determining the Installation Position

Issue 04 (2023-10-30)

The device can be installed on the ceiling (recommended, the ceiling height does not

exceed 5 m) or on a wall (about 3 m above the floor).

Keep the device away from electronic devices that may cause radio interference, such as

microwave ovens, APs, and antennas. For details, see Table 3-1.

The installation position should be as concealed as possible to avoid disturbing daily

work and life.

Install the device in a site that is free from leaking or dripping water, heavy dew, and

humidity, and take protective measures to prevent water from flowing into the device

along the cable.

Do not install the device in an environment with high temperature, dust, poisonous gases,

flammable or explosive objects, electromagnetic interference (from a radar station, radio

station, or substation), unstable voltage, violent shakes, or strong noise.

Table 3-1 General requirements for antenna anti-interference deployment distance

Scenario

Deployment Distance Requirement

Indoor

installation

scenario

Distance between antennas: > 7 m

Distance from 4G antennas of an operator: > 5 m

Far away from other electronic devices (such as microwave ovens)

that may cause antenna interference

For a device with a built-in antenna, the distance requirement for the antenna is the distance requirement

for the device.

4 Installing the Device

Issue 04 (2023-10-30)

4 Installing the Device

4.1 Ceiling-mounted/Wall-mounted Installation (7mm Thick)

4.2 Indoor T-Rail Installation (7mm Thick)

4.3 Ceiling-mounted/Wall-mounted Installation (15mm Thick)

4.4 Indoor T-Rail Installation (15mm Thick)

4.1 Ceiling-mounted/Wall-mounted Installation (7mm

Thick)

The methods for ceiling-mounted and wall-mounted installations are the same.

Ceiling-mounted installation is recommended.

Select an installation mode based on the mounting bracket.

A wall for installing the device needs to meet the following requirements:

The wall can bear the weight of four times the total weight of the device and mounting bracket

without damage. When the total weight of the device and mounting brackets is less than 1.25 kg, the

load-bearing capability of the wall must be greater than or equal to 50 N.

When the tightening torque of a screw reaches 3.5 N·m, the screw still properly works, without

crack or damage on the wall.

Mounting brackets and expansion screws are required to install the device in ceiling-mounted

mode. The procedures are as follows:

When fixing the mounting bracket, ensure that the arrows of point upwards.

1. Attach the mounting bracket against the wall and adjust its position properly. Mark

positions of the mounting holes with a marker, as shown in the following figure.
