Intended use

This product is intended

• to be used in a household setting,

• to be installed as a built-in unit and

• for heating and cooking various foodstuff.

This product is not intended

• to be used in locations where special conditions prevail, such as the presence of a corrosive or explosive atmosphere

(dust, vapour or gas),

• for outdoor use or

• for room heating or similar purposes.

Safety for children and people with disabilities

WARNING!

• This product can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical,

sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or

instruction concerning safe use of the product and understand the hazards involved. Children must not

play with the product. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children without

supervision.

WARNING!

Keep the product and its cord out of reach of children aged 8 and below.

WARNING!

• Accessible parts may become hot during use. Care should be taken to avoid touching heating elements.

Children under 8 years old must be kept away from the product unless under constant supervision.

General safety

WARNING!

• This product is intended to be used in households and settings such as staff kitchen areas (for example in

shops and offices), by clients in hotels and motels, and in other types of residential environments (for

example farmhouses and bed and breakfast establishments).

• The product is intended to be used built-in or built-under.

• If smoke is emitted, switch off or unplug the product and keep the door closed in order to stifle any flames.

• Care should be taken not to displace the turntable when removing containers from the product.

• Surfaces of storage drawers can get hot.

• The product becomes hot during use. Care should be taken to avoid touching heating elements inside the

oven.

• Cooling with the door of the product open: Only leave the cooking compartment to cool with the door

closed. Do not trap anything in the door. Even if the door is only slightly ajar, the fronts of adjacent units

may be damaged over time.

• Do not stand on or place anything on the open door of the product. Do not place ovenware or accessories

on the door of the product.

• Transporting the product: Do not carry or hold the product by the door handle. The door handle cannot

support the weight of the product and could break.

WARNING!

• Never pour water into the hot cooking compartment. This will cause steam. The temperature change can

cause damage.

• Do not store moist food in the closed cooking compartment for long periods.

CAUTION!

Do not use the product to store food. This can lead to corrosion.

Microwave safety

WARNING!

• Do not attempt to operate this oven with the door open as this can result in harmful exposure to

microwave energy. It is important not to break or tamper with the safety interlocks.

• If the door or door seals are damaged, the oven must not be used until it has been repaired by a qualified

person.

• It is hazardous for anyone other than a qualified person to carry out any service or repair operation that

involves the removal of a cover which provides protection against exposure to microwave energy.

WARNING!

• Do not place objects between the oven’s front face and the door or allow soil or cleaner residue to

accumulate on sealing surfaces.

• Only use utensils that are suitable for use in microwave ovens.

• Metallic containers for food and beverages are not permitted during microwave cooking.

• The microwave oven is intended for heating food and beverages. Drying of food or clothing and heating of

warming pads, slippers, sponges, damp cloth and similar may lead to risk of injury, ignition or fire.

WARNING!

• Microwave heating of beverages can result in delayed eruptive boiling, care must therefore be taken

when handling the container.

• Eggs in their shells and whole hardboiled eggs should not be heated in microwave ovens as they may

explode, even after microwave heating has ended.

CAUTION!

Microwave popcorn: Never set the microwave power too high. Use a power setting no higher than 600 watts.

Always place the popcorn bag on a glass plate. The disc may jump if overloaded.

Acrylamide in foodstuffs

Tips for keeping acrylamide to a minimum when preparing food.

Acrylamide is mainly produced in grain and potato products that are heated to high temperatures, such as potato crisps,

chips, toast, bread rolls, bread, fine baked goods (biscuits, gingerbread, cookies).

Food Tips for keeping acrylamide to a minimum

General Keep cooking times to a minimum. Cook meals until they

are golden brown, but not too dark. Large, thick pieces of

food contain less acrylamide.

Biscuits Max. 180 °C for the 3D hot air function.

Oven chips Max. 170 °C for 3D hot air function or hot air function. Egg

white and egg yolk reduce the formation of acrylamide.

Distribute thinly and evenly over the baking tray. Cook at

least 400 g at a time on a baking tray so that the chips do

not dry out.

Safety during installation

WARNING!

• Do not kink the power cord.

• The power cord of the oven must be connected to an earthed socket. Local laws and regulations for

electrical installations must be followed.

• Only a qualified electrician who takes the relevant regulations into account may replace the power cord.

Only use cords and plugs that have an earth wire. Do not use multiple plugs, power strips or extensions.

Overloading causes a risk of fire.

• The gap between the worktop and the oven must not be closed by additional battens.

• The product must not be installed behind a decorative door in order to avoid overheating.

CAUTION!

Do not hold or carry the oven by the door handle. The door handle cannot hold the weight of the oven and

may break off.

Safety during operation

WARNING!

• Do not cover the ventilation slots. Otherwise, the oven will overheat.

• Make sure all packaging remnants have been removed from the cooking compartment.

• Liquids and other foods must not be heated in sealed containers as they are liable to explode.

• When heating food in plastic or paper containers, regularly check the oven as there is a possibility of

ignition.

• The contents of feeding bottles and baby food jars shall be stirred or shaken and the temperature checked

before consumption, in order to avoid burns.

• Liquid that has boiled over must not be allowed to run through the turntable drive into the interior of the

product. Monitor the cooking process. Choose a shorter cooking time initially, and increase the cooking

time as required.

• Operating the microwave without food: Operating the product without food in the cooking compartment

may lead to overloading. Never switch on the product unless there is food in the cooking compartment. An

exception to this rule is a short cookery test.

CAUTION!

• Creation of sparks: Metal, for example a spoon in a glass, must be kept at least 2 cm from the oven walls

and the inside of the door. Sparks could irreparably damage the glass on the inside of the door.

• Never use the microwave without the turntable.

• The turntable can withstand maximum 5 kg.

• Make sure the turntable is never hindered from rotating.

• Usually you must never switch on microwave heating unless there is food inside. A cookware test is the

only exception to this rule.

Safety during maintenance

WARNING!

• Risk of electric shock! Penetrating moisture may cause an electric shock. Do not use any high-pressure

cleaners or steam cleaners.

• Risk of burns! Never clean the microwave oven immediately after switching off. Let the oven cool down.

• Risk of serious damage to health! Microwave energy may escape if the cooking compartment door or the

door seal is damaged. Never use the microwave oven if the cooking compartment door or the door seal is

damaged. Contact the after-sales service.

• Risk of scalding! There is a possibility of delayed boiling when a liquid is heated. This means that the liquid

reaches boiling temperature without the usual steam bubbles rising to the surface. Even if the container

only moves a little, the hot liquid can suddenly boil over and spatter. When heating liquids, always place a

spoon in the container. This will prevent delayed boiling.

• If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, the manufacturer’s service agent

or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

• Before replacing the bulb make sure that the product is switched off to avoid the possibility of electric

shock.

• Always use an oven cloth or oven gloves when taking accessories or ovenware out of the cooking

compartment.

WARNING!

Risk of scalding when popping popcorn!

• Open the popcorn bag carefully as hot steam may be released.

• Never set the microwave to full power.
