Panomera® Maintenance
Important Information for Inspection and Maintenance of Panomera® S4 and S8 Systems

1. General Information
Like any other item of daily use, the components of a video security system are subject to natural wear and tear due to environmental
influences. Regular inspection and maintenance of Panomera® systems is therefore required to ensure error-free operation and avoid
consequential damage. We recommend that inspection and maintenance be carried out as prescribed at least once a year during the
entire operating period.
The operator or owner of a video security system has a legally anchored duty to maintain the safety of the equipment.
This obligation includes in particular the inspection and maintenance and Panomera® systems.
If damage results from neglect of this obligation, the system operator or owner is liable.
The maintenance interval always depends on the prevailing environmental conditions and the current
conditions (storm, hail, etc.). The maintenance interval has to be determined individually on the basis of a risk analysis.
The standards and guidelines to be observed by the operator or owner of a video security system must
always be defined individually.
2. Strength Test
First, the Panomera® System system and all attached parts must be checked for mechanical strength. This serves to prevent personal injury
and damage to property caused by falling parts.
• The test must be carried out by skilled personnel.
• The test is to be performed at least on an annual basis.
• The test shall include at least visible damage and wear, functionality, safe operating condition and legibility of markings.
• The test has to be documented suiciently and comprehensibly.
Please note that the operator of a video system is liable for personal injury and property damage caused by falling parts.

This simplified example shows the wall mounting of a Panomera®. Check alternative mounting methods (ceiling or pole mounting) accordingly.
If necessary, observe other attached parts and check in particular:
❶the mounting of the Panomera® on the bracket.
❷the mounting of the bracket on the wall.
❸bonding / sealing of the front glass. Observe chapter 4 "Front Glass Check".
❹the fastening of the earthing cable.
❺the attachment of the safety cable to the Panomera® and to the anchor point.
❻the correct positioning of the connectors for power supply and network connection.
Defective parts must be replaced immediately.

3. Cleaning the Housing
Regular cleaning of the Panomera® housing is necessary for error-free operation. Contamination of the front glass, for example, could lead
to poor image quality. On the other hand, heavy soiling of the cooling fins could endanger heat exchange and thus fault-free long-term
operation.
Please note that regular cleaning of the housing is not only necessary for optical reasons.

First remove all foreign objects (cobwebs, leaves, etc.) from the housing, especially:
❶from the front glass and under the sunshield.
❷between the cooling fins on the back.
❸between the sunshield and the housing.
❹ Clean the surface of the housing and the sunshield with a soft, dry and antistatic cloth.
Do not use cleaning agents to avoid damaging the surface.
❺ Clean the coated front glass of the Panomera® with a silicone-free cotton cloth.
Do not use a household glass cleaner, but a special cleaner recommended by Dallmeier.
Avoid strong rubbing and do not let residues of the cleaning agent dry on the front glass.

4. Front Glass Check
After cleaning the housing, the front glass of the Panomera® should first be checked. In addition to observing any scratches, the seal of the
front glass in particular should be checked thoroughly. Depending on the prevailing environmental conditions, the seal may be damaged by
cracks or shrinkage. As a result, penetrating moisture can lead to fogging of the window from the inside and in extreme cases to damage to
the optics and electronics.
Note that a front glass with a damaged seal must be replaced immediately to avoid consequential damage.

❶Check the complete seal of the front glass.
❷An undamaged seal is deep black and slightly glossy.
❸A seal damaged by detachment is rather greyish and dull.
❹ Be aware of damage caused by cracked areas or blistering.
❺ Pay attention to damage caused by shrinkage.
A front glass with a damaged seal must be replaced immediately to avoid consequential damage.
When mounting the front glass, the screws should always be tightened crosswise.
Observe chapter 6 "Mounting the Front Glass".

5. Cleaning Inside of Front Glass
In some cases it may be necessary to clean the inside of the front glass. Slight soiling of the inside can occur over time due to residues of
evaporated condensation water, but also due to unavoidable evaporation of electronic or plastic parts.
Please note that light and flat soiling (veiling) on the inside of the front glass may be visually diicult to detect, but can often become
visible as shadows in the video material. Therefore, the video material should be checked before maintenance.

❶Loosen the four screws of the front glass.
❷Clean the inside of the coated front glass of the Panomera® with a silicone-free cotton cloth.
Do not use a household glass cleaner, but a special cleaner recommended by Dallmeier.
Avoid strong rubbing and do not let residues of the cleaning agent dry on the front glass.
❸Check the sealing ring of the housing for damage.
When mounting the front glass, the screws should always be tightened crosswise.
Observe chapter 6 "Mounting the front glass".
After cleaning the inside, the front glass may fog up due to evaporating cleaning agent residues.
In this case, activate the integrated heater (via the WebConfig user interface of the Panomera® master module) until
the pane is free of fogging.

6. Mounting the Front Glass
If it is necessary to replace or clean the front glass from the inside, the screws should always be tightened crosswise during assembly. This
ensures that the front glass is centered and prevents distortion.
Please also note that the various models of the Panomera® S4 and S8 series will be delivered with four additional plastic sleeves on the front
as of September 2018. These are used to prevent contact corrosion of the stainless steel screws and the aluminum frame and also support
the front glass.
Older models of the Panomera® S4 and S8 series (Baseline, Nightline, Topline, Ultraline) should be equipped with these plastic sleeves during
maintenance to ensure optimum long-term operation.
Please note that these plastic sleeves are provided free of charge as a package of 20 pieces (article number 007165).

❶Loosen one of the four screws of the front glass.
Insert the plastic sleeve into the housing frame and retighten the screw.
❷Proceed accordingly for the diagonally opposite screw ❸and for the remaining two screws ❹.
When mounting the front glass, the screws should always be tightened crosswise.
