DR-5010C
Beca se Things Aren’t Always
Black and White
Employing advanced Three- ine Sensor Technology, the
DR-5010C is a high-speed device capable of scanning
color as rapidly as it does black and white—up to 50
pages or 100 images per minute.*
Speed alone doesn’t satisfy the demands of paper-
intensive business environments. The Three-Dimensional
Color Correction function recreates color that’s strikingly
close to the original. For distinct OCR results, the
DR-5010C scanner incorporates a unique Custom Color
Dropout feature that can remove color elements, such as
lines and shaded boxes, from a document. The built-in
shading board automatically adjusts prior to every scan
job to ensure consistent, accurate imaging day after day.
Productivity comes standard with the Canon imageFORMU A DR-5010C.
This departmental scanner is packed with power, yet built for effortless scanning.
It has exceptional value, offering high-quality, high-volume scanning to meet a
wide range of business needs.
*Examples based on typical settings, rated in pages/images per minute with portrait-oriented,
letter-sized documents at 200 dpi unless specified. Actual processing speeds may vary based
on PC performance and application software.
Efficiency from Front to Back
Today’s document imaging requirements are more varied
than ever. With this understanding, Canon designed the
DR-5010C scanner to be a versatile image processing
device. Robust and small enough to sit on the desktop,
the DR-5010C scanner is ready to capture hard-to-handle
source materials, offering immediate improvements
in work efficiency.
To accommodate high-volume scan jobs, the U-turn
Paper Path feeding option incorporates an exclusive
motor mechanism that neatly ejects scanned papers.
Whether scanning thick documents or plastic ID cards,
the DR-5010C scanner ensures smooth feeding with its
innovative Straight Paper Path design. With the eject tray
open, simply insert documents through the auto-feeder;
documents travel a straight path through the device and
are automatically ejected out the back.
Fast, Acc rate Scans. Immediate Prod ctivity.

Int itive Image Handling
In the event scanning is interrupted, the DR-5010C
scanner is armed with Canon’s Rapid Recovery System.
The device will automatically pause operation and yield
an alert message. Once the error is resolved, the Rapid
Recovery System allows for seamless, continual scanning,
right where it left off, sending only completed image data
to the PC.
For additional convenience, the DR-5010C scanner can
reliably handle batches of mixed documents, including
those that are landscape orientated . This is made possible
by the ability to automatically straighten skewed documents
and rotate upside down images for enhanced, unattended
batch scanning.
Simply Brilliant
An intelligent image capture device, the DR-5010C scanner
is equipped with a Punch Hole Removal function that auto-
matically detects and removes the black dots that appear
when scanning pages from booklets or binders. Built-in
MultiStream™technology allows for the generation of a
variety of different images, simultaneously, from a single
scan to create a color image for archiving and a black-and-
white image for OCR.
Canon built this scanner to be as accurate as it is fast. The
High-Speed Text Enhancement function boosts faint text
or pencil writing on dark or graphic backgrounds, producing
clear, legible images while maintaining top scanning
speeds. The DR-5010C scanner will generate crisp, clean
black-and-white scans with a Contrast Adjustment feature
that sharpens low-contrast images and enhances text.
This user-friendly scanner is loaded with diverse automatic
and customizable functions that will change the image cap-
ture process. Exceeding value expectations, the DR-5010C
scanner comes bundled with Canon CapturePerfect®, Adobe®
Acrobat®, and Kofax VirtualReScan software in addition to a
full-featured ISIS®/TWAIN driver.
From a World Leader
The Canon imageFORMU A DR-5010C scanner is well-
equipped for use in a wide range of business applications,
especially in high-speed, volume-oriented environments. It’s
ultra-fast, scanning color at the same rapid rate it processes
black and white. It’s versatile, capable of handling documents
up to 11" x 17" and offering a straight path for plastic cards,
drivers’ licenses, and other thick stocks. Moreover, it’s
from Canon, the brand the world relies on for high-quality
imaging solutions.
