particular needs. After that, you can adjust your sonar
to match changing conditions and fisheries.
PART C: UNPACKING AND IN-
SPECTION
The HD800 sonar should be carefully unpacked and
examined for any damage that may have resulted
from shipping. Report any damage to the carrier im-
mediately and save the sonar packing materials until
you are sure you won't be returning the sonar. If a
system does have to be returned to WESMAR, use the
packing material it arrived in.

INSTALLATION AND OPERATION
PARTA: INTRODUCTION
Scanning sonar has many applications in commercial
fishing, pleasure boating, sport fishing, navigation,
diving and salvage, underwater security, and a host
of other uses only now being developed. The HD800
series is designed for easy operation, and you will be
able to learn how to use your sonar quickly.
PART B: YOUR NEW SONAR
WESMAR’s new HD800 series sonars have the most
advanced technology of any marine electronic equip-
ment on the market today, technology specifically
designed to help you make more money.
With anewlydesignedscreendisplay, specialfeatures,
and four options menus, the HD800 sonars provide
moreinformationabout thetargets you’reafter soyou
can make the kind of catches you want—profitable
ones. The high-definition sonar screen offers four
times the picture resolution of older models, which
means you get a truly accurate presentation of what
is in the water before and around you.
New features boost the effectiveness of the HD800
series and make your job easier. Front panel gain
controls are digitally displayed on the screen for
easy reference. Scanning speed can be increased
or decreased instantly from the front panel enabling
you to track fast moving fish. Adjustable thresholds
and pulsewidth give added bottom discrimination.
The four options menus were designed for the setup
of your new sonar. After installation, on your first
time out with the HD800, you can make many small
