Safety Tips

DO NOT place hands near sharpening channels when in use.
DO NOT sharpen scissors or any blade that does not fit freely in the
sharpening channels.
DO NOT place wet blades in the sharpening slots.
DO NOT immerse the appliance in water.
DO NOT attempt to sharpen blades thicker than 3mm.
Suitable for indoor use only.
Always switch off and disconnect the power supply to the appliance when
not in use.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience or
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the
appliance
Keep all packaging away from children. Dispose of the packaging in
accordance to the regulations of local authorities.
If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a VOGUE agent or a
recommended qualified technician in order to avoid a hazard.

Operation
Note: The VOGUE Knife Sharpener automatically adjusts to accommodate varying
thicknesses of blade
Sharpening Tips
Apply light pressure to the blade when sharpening for best results.
Pull the blade in a single, smooth motion.
To sharpen the tip of the blade, pull the handle up at the end of the pulling motion.
Always alternate between the left and right slots of any sharpening stage.
Note: Ensure that knife blades are clean and dry before sharpening

Sharpening Stage 1
Use for blades with a very blunt edge.
1. Connect the sharpener to a mains power supply.
2. Turn the power switch to ‘I’.
3. Hold the handle of the knife firmly and place the blade hilt in the left
sharpening slot of Stage 1.
4. Apply enough pressure for the knife to make contact with the sharpening
wheel.
5. Pull the blade back to the tip in a smooth motion. Do not twist or rock the
blade.
6. Repeat this process for the right sharpening slot of Stage 1.
Note: As a guide, each pull for a 6 inch blade should take 2-3 seconds. An 8 inch
blade should take 4 seconds and longer blades 6+ seconds
Sharpening Stage 2
Use for honing a blade or to achieve a razor sharp edge after stage 1.
1. Repeat steps 3-6, using Sharpening Stage 2.
Note: 1-2 pulls on each side of stage 2 is normally sufficient, though more pulls will
achieve a finer edge

Cleaning, Care & Maintenance
Always turn off and disconnect the appliance from the power supply before cleaning.
Use soapy water and a damp cloth to clean the exterior of the appliance.
Remove the sharpening head by turning clockwise. The covers of the sharpening
wheels (1 & 2) can be removed by pushing the cover in at one end and lifting.
Filings can then be emptied.

Veiligheidstips
Plaats het apparaat op een vlakke en stabiele ondergrond.
De installatie en eventuele reparaties dienen door een

componenten van dit product.

Bij gebruik, NIET met de handen in de buurt van de slijpkanalen komen.
GÉÉN scharen of messen slijpen die niet vrij in de slijpkanalen passen.
Plaats GÉÉN natte messen in de slijpgleuven.
Dit apparaat NIET in water dompelen.
Messen dikker dan 3mm NIET proberen te slijpen.
Uitsluitend geschikt voor gebruik binnenshuis.
Schakel het apparaat altijd uit en haal de stekker uit het stopcontact wanneer
u het apparaat niet gebruikt.
Dit apparaat is niet bedoeld voor gebruik door personen met lichamelijke,
zintuiglijke of mentale beperkingen (inclusief kinderen) of met gebrek aan
ervaring of kennis, tenzij zij hierin worden begeleid of zijn opgeleid in het

Tips voor het slijpen
Voor de beste resultaten oefent u bij het slijpen een lichte druk op het mes uit.
Trek het mes in één soepele beweging.
Om de punt van het mes te slijpen, trekt u het handvat omhoog aan het einde van de
trekkende beweging.
Bij elke slijpfase dient u zowel de linker als de rechter gleuf te gebruiken.
Opmerking: controleer vóór het slijpen of de messen schoon en droog zijn

Slijpfase 1
Te gebruiken voor messen met zeer botte snijkant.
1. Sluit de messenslijper aan op de stroomvoorziening.
2. Zet de stroomschakelaar op ‘"I" (AAN).
3. Houd het handvat van het mes goed vast en plaats het mes in de linker
slijpgleuf van fase 1.
4. Oefen voldoende druk op het mes uit zodat deze contact maakt met het
slijpwiel.
5. Trek het mes in een soepele beweging naar achter tot aan de punt. Het mes
niet draaien of schudden.
6. Herhaal deze procedure voor de rechter slijpgleuf van fase 1.
Opmerking: als richtlijn, dient elke beweging voor een 6 inch mes 2-3 seconden te
duren. Een snijblad van 8 inch duurt 4 seconden en langere messen 6+ seconden
Slijpfase 2
Voor een fijne afwerking of een vlijmscherp snijblad na fase 1.
1. Herhaal stappen 3-6 en gebruik slijpfase 2.
Opmerking: over het algemeen zijn 1-2 bewegingen in slijpfase 2 aan beide zijden
genoeg, maar meer bewegingen zorgen voor een fijnere snijrand
Reiniging, zorg & onderhoud
Alvorens het apparaat te reinigen dient men altijd de stroomvoorziening uit te
schakelen.
Gebruik zeepwater en een vochtige doek om de buitenkant van het apparaat te
reinigen.
Verwijder de slijpkop door deze naar rechts te draaien. Verwijder de afdekkingen van
de slijpwielen (1 en 2) door de afdekking aan een kant in te drukken en omhoog te
brengen. De slijpdeeltjes kunnen nu worden verwijderd
