Instrument panel overview
The instrument panel consists of the following
components:
1. Digital and analogue speedometer.
2. Battery state of charge percentage and
battery range estimate in miles/km.
3. Power demand or regeneration of the HV
battery. Red area shows high discharge,
green area shows battery regeneration
under braking.
4. Message centre.
5. Odometer information.

Instrument panel warning lights
Red warning lamps are primary warnings
and must be investigated immediately by
the driver or by a qualified person, before
continuing.
Amber and yellow warning lamps are
secondary warnings. Some indicate that a
system is operating; some indicate that an action
must be taken.
Green warning lamps indicate a system's
status.
Blue warning lamps normally indicate a
system's status.

Locking and unlocking
NOTE: The vehicle is not equipped with a
central door locking facility so each door
must be locked or unlocked individually.
NOTE: To help maintain low voltage battery
health; if the vehicle is not in use, make
sure both cab doors are properly closed.
Failure to do so will prevent the battery
isolator from engaging and may result in
accelerated lead acid battery depletion
The vehicle cab is equipped with two access
doors, these have symmetrical exterior and
interior mechanisms for locking and unlocking.
The external handle has a lock and key for
locking and unlocking it from outside the vehicle:
•To unlock the door, turn the key in an
anticlockwise direction.
•To lock the door, turn the key in a
clockwise direction.
The internal locking and unlocking facility is a
manually operated control button:
•To lock the door, push the button in a
downward direction.
•To unlock the door, pull the the button in
a upward direction.

Access to the cab
Unlock the vehicle doors. See Locking and
unlocking, page 1.04.
Use the external opening handle to open the
door.
Enter the vehicle using the handholds and the
step.
WARNING: Failure to obey the following
warnings can result in serious injury.
To reduce the risk of injury from slips and falls
obey the following precautions:
•Keep the access step and grab handles
clean to prevent slips.
•Always face towards the cab when you
enter or exit the cab. Never try to enter or
exit the cab backwards.
•Never jump out of the cab.

Warning and information lights
Red
Illuminates when cab tilting is engaged.
Illuminates when a seat is occupied
without the seatbelt fastened.
Illuminates when a cabin door is open.
Illuminates to indicate a fault with the
low voltage battery charging system. The
light illuminates when the power system
is switched on as part of a self test and
extinguishes when the system is
switched to ready. If the battery power
is low the lamp illuminates and a
message appears in the information
centre.
Illuminates when the parking brake is
applied.
Illuminates to indicate a fault with the
VCU (Vehicle Control Unit) or fault
within the system.
Illuminates to indicate a fault with the
motors or inverter units within the
electric drive system.
Illuminates to indicate a fault with the
power supply system or a high voltage
battery failure.
Illuminates to warn of abnormal electric
drive motor temperature.
Illuminates to warn of abnormally high
battery temperature.
Illuminates to show the vehicle is not
ready to drive. If the lamp illuminates
whilst driving, the driver must stop
immediately.
Amber and Yellow
Illuminates to notify that the rear fog
lights are on.
Illuminates and flashes if the Lane
Departure Warning System (LDWS)
detects the vehicle unintentionally
leaving lane position. A fault has
occurred if the lamp illuminates
continually.
Illuminates if the differential lock is
engaged.
Illuminates and flashes if the ASR (Anti
Skid Regulator) is engaged. A fault has
occured if the lamp illuminates
continually.
Illuminates and flashes if the ASR (Anti
Skid Regulator) has been deactivated.
Illuminates when the hill hold system is
engaged.

Illuminates when the Automatic
Emergency Braking System (AEBS)
activates a front collision warning. A fault
has occured if the lamp illuminates
continually.
Illuminates to indicate a fault with the
ABS (Anti lock Braking System). If a fault
occurs during driving the ABS is
disabled but normal braking is still
available.
Illuminates to indicate a fault with the
EBS (Electronic Braking System). If a
fault occurs during driving the EBS is
disabled but normal braking is still
available.
Illuminates to indicate a fault with the
power steering system.
Illuminates to indicate a fault with the
braking system.
Illuminates to indicate a fault with the
accelerator pedal or associated system.
Green and Blue
Illuminates to notify that the sidelights
are on.
Illuminates and flashes to notify that the
left direction indicator is on.
Illuminates and flashes to notify that the
right direction indicator is on.
Illuminates to show the cruise control is
active. Flashes if there is a system fault.
Illuminates to show the vehicle is ready
to drive.
Both direction indicators illuminate and
flash to show the hazard lights are
operating. If both arrows remain
illuminated this shows a fault with the
indicators.
Illuminates to notify that the main beam
headlights are on.
Illuminates to warn of abnormally low
battery temperature.
