GENERAL INFORMATION

DESCRIPTION

These mach nes are heat ng un ts to be used for a r heat ng. They are essent ally thermal un ts of exchange

between the combust on products of an atmospher c burner and the a r flow generated by a vent lat on un t

not ncluded n the scope of supply. The a r to be heated s sucked by the vent lat on un t and, when t laps

the hot surface of the heat exchanger, t s heated - ncreas ng ts temperature; then t can be d str buted

both d rectly and through proper channels. Trough th s heat ng system, the plant costs can be remarkably

reduced and a rel able operat ng economy can be reached.

WARNING

The heat ng sect ons type 1-2-3-4-5-6 are des gned to be nstalled ndoors, and protected from atmospher c

agents.

Heat ng un ts type 7-8-9-10-11-12 have been conce ved to be nstalled outdoors.

the Manufacturer.

STOP

Do not stop the machine by disconnecting it from the power supply, since the thermal

energy stored in the heat exchanger could dangerously overheat it, damaging the warm air

heater. Moreover the LIMIT thermostat could be triggered and it might be necessary to

manually unblock it.

26.0

LOCATION

The nstallat on place must be chosen by the plant des gner or by a person competent n th s matter; th s

place must meet the requ rements spec f ed by the Standards and Regulat ons n force; generally, spec al

author sat ons are to be obta ned (e.g. town-plann ng, arch tectural, f re-f ght ng, env ronmental regulat ons

etc.)

Therefore, before nstall ng the appl ance, t s adv sable to request and obta n the necessary author sat ons.

We suggest not to install the machine:

•n places w th aggress ve atmosphere;

•n narrow places where the heater no se level can be magn f ed by reverberat on and resonance;

•n corners where leaves can depos t or any other mater als m ght obstruct the a r open ng, thus

decreas ng the heater eff c ency;

• n pressur sed areas;

•n depressur sed areas;

•outdoors, f not prov ded w th a protect on aga nst bad weather cond t ons ( f they are not mach nes

adequately conce ved for such use).

27.0

RESPECT AREA

The machine shall be easily and safely reached without needing special equipment (ladders -

movable platforms -etc.). Around the mach ne, m n mum d stances shall be compl ed w th so that the

control and/or ma ntenance operat ons can be performed and that no obstacles block the a r flow.

Any law or spec f c regulat ons (e.g. f re prevent on) shall be compl ed w th. Consult the plant

des gner.

CONDENSATION CHECK

The appl ance s des gned to be operated w th the heat ng capac ty and the a r flow rate spec f ed n the

Data Sheet chapter. If the heat ng capac ty s too low and/or the a r flow rate s too h gh, combust on

products may condensate, result ng n the rreparable corros on of the heat exchanger. If the heat ng

capac ty s too h gh and/or the a r flow rate s too low, an anomalous overheat ng of the heat exchanger

may occur, result ng n the act vat on of the safety dev ces and caus ng damage to the exchanger.

It has to be checked if condensation is forming inside the heat exchanger during its

functioning. This check should be performed by turning off the burner after half an hour

of continuous functioning, checking if there is any trace of humidity in the exhaust

manifold.

TRANSFORMATION GAS / FORCED GAS BURNER

Burners are factory-conf gured for operat on w th natural gas G20. The transformat on, f requ red, to

another type of fuel gas s nstaller’s respons b l ty and charge. Such transformat on may be carr ed out only

by qual f ed and sk lled workers str ctly observ ng the spec f cat ons set forth n the nstruct on manuals of

the burner and of the power ramp, f any, prov ded together w th them.

ELECTRIC CONNECTION

Electr cal connect ons should be made by qual f ed personnel and n compl ance w th the relevant

Regulat ons, us ng the

ad hoc

term nals. For any electr cal operat on to be performed, refer to the w r ng

d agram ncluded n th s manual and prov ded together w th the appl ance.

•Install a c rcu t breaker of the s ze requ red by the relevant regulat ons before the mach ne.

•Always connect the earth connect on of the mach ne, leav ng the earth w re sl ghtly longer than the

l ne w res, so that, should they be acc dentally torn off, t w ll be the last to be detached.

•Have author zed personnel check that the w re sect ons and the electr c plant are adequate for the

max. absorbed power spec f ed n the plate data.

•Take nto account the polar ty n the power supply connect on (phase - neutral).

•The mach ne should compulsor ly be connected to an effect ve earth ng system. The Producer shall

not be held l able for damage occurred because the mach ne s not equ pped w th an earth

connect on.

•Electr cal w res should be placed so as not to come nto contact w th hot and/or cold surfaces or

w th cutt ng edges.

•In compl ance w th the electr c Regulat ons concern ng the nstallat on, nstall a dev ce ensur ng that

the mach ne s d sconnected from the network, w th a contact open ng d stance adequate to ensure

the complete d sconnect on n overvoltage cond t ons III (Standard EN 60335-1)

•Water or gas p pes should not be used as earth connect on of the mach ne.

•Use the ded cated cable glands to nsert the supply and control w res n the mach ne.

•

If you have any doubt, do not operate on the mach ne. Contact the manufacturer to rece ve further

clar f cat ons and/or add t onal nformat on.

FAN MOTOR CONTROL

In the electr c panel there s an outlet for fan motor (MV) control.

If the appl ed electr c load s lower than that shown n the table set forth hereunder, such outlet can be

used d rectly; otherw se t can be used to operate a relay and/or contactor.

and we recommend keep ng t carefully.

CHECKS

In order to ensure that the mach ne works properly, some bas c parameters should be checked. Act vate the

mach ne and:

•Check that the vent lat on un t starts after max. 30 s from the burner act vat on.

Wh le the warm a r heater s normally work ng (after approx. 20 m nutes of un nterrupted work ng), perform

the follow ng operat ons:

•Measure the a r flow, as t s cruc al to get an opt mal room heat ng and furthermore s necessary n

order to adequately cool the heat exchanger. The absence of any k nd of res stance on the a r flow

generated by the fan s essent al. Therefore, avo d any obstacles h nder ng a r supply and return.

•Check that there s no fuel leakage.

•Check that the fuel flow s correct by read ng the meter.

•Check the combust on parameters.

•Check that the nstalled safety dev ces do not operate anomalously.

•On the remote control panel, lower the set-po nt to a value lower than the room temperature and

check that only the burner turns off and that the fan un t does not s multaneously stop.

•Check that the fan works for 3 m nutes after the burner has stopped, before stopp ng as well.

•Check that the thermal grad ent s equal to the one spec f ed n the TECHNICAL DATA paragraph.

The thermal grad ent s the d fference between the a r outlet and a r nlet temperature. S nce the a r

outlet temperature s not constant through ts outlet sect on, n order to get th s value, several

temperature measurements have to be carr ed out (throughout ts outlet sect ons) and then the

ar thmet cal mean has to be calculated.

•Check that the a r pressure gauge of the burner s correctly cal brated, so that t stops f the

comburent a r s not enough - s nce th s m ght cause a non hyg en c combust on

All the checks above mentioned should be performed in all the arranged working

conditions (max and min).

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE INSTRUCTIONS

MAINTENANCE

Per od c clean ng and ma ntenance operat ons are to be performed to preserve the equ pment and ensure

ts correct funct on ng. These operat ons are to be performed by sk lled and tra ned personnel, who have to

start work ng when the equ pment has cooled down and after d sconnect ng the electr c and fuel supply.

Per od cally check the screws, used n the equ pment assembly, to make sure they are t ght and correctly

f xed.

For machines installed close to the sea or in difficult conditions, the maintenance

intervals shall be halved.

46.0

CLEANING OF EXTERNAL PANELS

To clean the external panels of the mach ne use a wet cloth w th water and soap. For d ff cult sta ns, use a

m x of water (50%) and denatur sed alcohol or spec f c products. On complet on of the clean ng, w pe

carefully the surface.

Do not use sponges with abrasive products or washing powder

During the installation, the transparent film protecting the pre-painted metal sheet shall

be removed.

EANING

Fan clean ng cons sts n the mechan cal removal of the dust or of the poss ble fore gn matters that may

have been depos ted on wheel, motor and cas ng.

CLEANING OF SMOKE EXHAUST AND COMBURENT AIR SUCTION DUCTS

To clean the smoke exhaust and comburent a r suct on ducts, mechan cally remove dust of any fore gn

matter depos ted ns de them.

FUNCTIONING OF SAFETY DEVICES

to ensure the equ pment safety stop.

ATMOSPHERIC BURNER CLEANING

To clean the burner, pull t out of ts hous ng and remove the poss ble scales that could have depos ted on

the tubular. Act only by means of compressed a r or brass brush. If there are defect ve tubular or jo nts,

they must be replaced.
