CAUTION: THIS FURNACEIS APPROVED FOR FUEL OIL NOT HEAVIER THAN NO. 2
DO NOT USE GASOLINE, CRANKCASE OIL, OR ANY OIL CONTAINING GASOLINE
NEVER BURN GARBAGE, REFUSE OR PAPER IN THE HEATING UNIT.
NEVER LEAVE COMBUSTIBLE OR OTHER MATERIALS AROUND OR NEAR THE FURNACE.
IDENTIFY THE LOCATION OF YOUR BURNER / FURNACE POWER SWITCH
OIL BURNER OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
• UseNo2furnaceoilONLY
• Donotusegasoline,crankcaseoil,oranyoilcontaininggasoline.
• Donotattempttostarttheburnerifexcessoilhasaccumulated,whenthefurnaceisfullofvapor,
orifthecombustionchamberishot.
• PresstheburnerrelayresetbuttonONLYONCE;iftheburnerfailstostart,callan
OilBurnerTechnician.
• Iftheoilburneristobeshutoffforanyperiodoftime,shuttheoilvalveOFFattheoiltank.
• Donotadjustortamperwiththefurnaceoranyofthecontrols
• Donotburngarbageorpaperinthisunit.
• Neverleavepaper,rags,orothercombustiblesaroundthefurnace.
• Onlyqualied,orwhererequiredbylaw,alicensedtechnicianshallset–upthisunitand
adjustcontrols.
• DONOTSTARTTHEOILBURNERUNLESSTHEBLOWERDOORISSECUREDINPLACE.
TO TURN THE BURNER OFF
• Turnthemainoilburnerswitchto“OFF“
• Setthethermostatasfarbelowroomtemperatureaspossible.
IF BURNER IS TO BE SHUT OFF FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD.
• Turnmainoilburnerswitchto“OFF”.
• Closealloilsupplyvalves.
• Theheatingsystemshouldbecheckedandcleanedifnecessary.
Note: Always keep oil supply valve shut off if burner is shut down for an extended period of time.
BURNER FAILS TO OPERATE
Alwayscallaqualiedtechnician.
Thetroublemaybe:
• Raiseyourthermostatto5ºC(10ºF)abovepresentroomtemperature
• Makesureyour“OilBurner”powerswitchisinthe“ON”position
• Ifyouhearahumfromtheoilburner,andthemotorhasnotstarted,presstheresetbuttononthe
burnermotoronceonly.
• Blownfuse/“tripped”breakerinelectricalpanel
• Thermostatmaybesetbelowroomtemperature.
• Burnerrelay(combustioncontrol)mayhavetobe“reset”(pressresetonceonly)
• Oilvalvemaybeclosed.
• Oilsupplymaybetoolow.
• Blockeduesensor“tripped”
• Iftheoilburnerfailstostartorrunsforonlyafewseconds,callaqualiedservicetechnician.
