1. Preliminary notes
Thank you for deciding to purchase a sonoro elements W.
This instruction manual will provide you with all the information needed for the awless and
safe operation of the device.
Read this instruction manual in its entirety before using the device.•
Store the instructions in a safe place.•
If you give the device to third parties, also include the instruction manual.•
Non-compliance with these instructions may result in serious injuries and damages to•
the device.
We do not assume any liability for damages resulting from the non-compliance with this•
instruction manual.
Please pay particular attention to the chapter “Safety information” starting on page 6.•
The illustrations in this instruction manual serve to depict operations and always precede the
descriptions that they refer to.

2. Safety information
2.1 Symbols used in these instructions
Important information regarding your safety is specially marked. Please be sure to pay attention
to this information in order to avoid accidents and damages to the device:
DANGER
This warns you about dangers to your health
and indicates possible risks of injury.
CAUTION
This indicates possible dangers to the device
or other objects.
NOTE
This provides you with tips and information.
2.2 Appropriate use
The device may only be used for private use. It is not suitable for commercial use. The device
is intended exclusively for the following functions:
Playback of radio stations•
Audio playback from an iPod, loading function for an iPod (connecting adapter optionally•
available)
Audio playback for external devices that are connected through AUX•
Any other use is considered to be inappropriate and prohibited. We do not assume any liability
for damages resulting from inappropriate use.
2.3 Persons with limited perception
Do not leave the device unattended and do not use it if children or persons who are unable•
to assess the dangers are nearby.
Persons (including children) who are not able to use the device safely due to their physical,•
sensory or mental capacities or their inexperience or unfamiliarity may not use this device
without the supervision or instruction by a responsible person. Store it in an inaccessible
location.
The packaging materials may not be used to play with. There is a danger of suffocation.•

2.4 Power supply
The device is operated with electrical power, which means that there is the fundamental danger
of receiving an electric shock. Therefore pay particular attention to the following:
Never touch the power plug with wet hands.•
If you want to pull the power plug out of the power socket, always pull directly on the power•
plug. Never pull on the cable since it might tear.
Make sure that unrestricted access to the used power socket is guaranteed at any time so•
that the power plug may be pulled out immediately in an emergency situation.
Make sure that the power cable doesn’t get bent, pinched or run over. Place the power cab-•
le in such a way that it will not result in stumbling or be reachable by children.
Only use extension cables that are designed for the device’s power consumption.•
Keep the device away from rain and moisture as well as heat sources.•
Only operate the device if the electrical voltage specied on the identication plate of the •
device and power plug corresponds to the voltage of your power socket. Incorrect voltage
can destroy the device.
In order to avoid the risk of re, completely disconnect the device from the power supply if •
you are not using the device for a longer time period. To do this, pull the power plug from
the power socket.
2.5 Batteries
Remove the batteries from the battery compartment as soon as they are spent or if the•
device will presumably not be used for a longer time period.
Do not throw the batteries into re and never expose them to high temperatures.•
Do not try to recharge non-rechargeable batteries. Do not try to open the batteries or short-•
circuit them. There is a danger of explosion.
Liquid that is released if the batteries are used improperly can lead to skin irritations. If you•
come in contact with this liquid, rinse it with a lot of water. If the liquid gets into the eyes,
do not rub the eyes but immediately rinse them for ten minutes with water and consult a
physician at once.
2.6 eDock (optionally available)
Only connect the eDock if the cable and plug as well as the adapter itself are undamaged. You
should therefore pay attention to the following:
Do not try to disassemble the adapter. It does not contain any serviceable parts. If the adap-•
ter or the cable shows a defect, contact an authorized specialized dealer.
Make sure that the adapter is subject to the same environmental conditions as described•
below under 2.8.

2.7 Transportation
When driving in a car, store the device in such a way that the passengers are not endange-•
red.
If you ship the device, store it in its original package. Save the package for this purpose.•
2.8 Environmental conditions
The safe operation of the device presumes that the environmental conditions are appropriate
for the device. You should therefore pay attention to the following:
Protect the device from any weather inuences. Never use it outside and never position it in •
places with a large amount of sunshine.
Never place the device on or directly near sources of re and heat, such as burning candles, •
stovetops, ovens, etc.
Position the device in such a way that a sufcient air supply is ensured. This way you will •
avoid heat accumulation in the interior of the device. Always keep a minimum distance of 10
cm to other objects or walls.
Protect the device from strong mechanical vibrations and place it on stable surfaces.•
Protect the remote control from any weather inuences, moisture and high temperatures •
(e.g. through direct sunlight).
Protect the device from sprayed and dripping water. Never place liquid-lled containers next •
to or on top of the device.
Never install/remove the provided battery pack in an environment that poses a risk of explo-•
sions (e.g. tank areas, fuel transfer points, fuel storage areas, areas where the air contains
chemicals or explosive particles/dust (e.g. our dust or metal powder) as well as areas in
which you are instructed to turn off your vehicle engine). There is a danger of explosion.
2.9 Operation
Do not insert any objects into the device. When you plug in or remove the cables, make•
sure this is done in a horizontal position.
Avoid a lateral pull of the cables. This might result in damage to the connecting jacks and•
lead to a defect in the device.
Do not place any types of iPods on the iPod docking station other than those that are appro-•
ved.
2.10 Using headphones
Always reduce the volume of the device before you put on your headphones. Only increase•
the volume to the desired level once the headphones are properly positioned.
When you listen with headphones, do not turn the volume too high. If you feel a continuous•

noise or background sound in your ears (ringing), reduce the volume or discontinue using
the headphones.
Even if your headphones are designed in such a way that you can continue to perceive ex-•
ternal sounds, you should never set the volume so high that you are unable to still perceive
your environment.
2.11 Defects
If the device should ever have any defects, do not attempt to repair it by yourself.
If the power plug, the adapter or the power cable of this device are damaged, they have•
to be replaced by the manufacturer or his customer service to avoid dangers resulting in
electric shock.
If any liquid has entered the device or if it was dropped or otherwise damaged, the device•
has to be checked by an authorized specialized dealer. Unplug the device from the power
grid and contact an authorized specialized dealer.
2.12 Cleaning
Always turn off the device before cleaning it.•
Only clean the device on the outside with the provided cloth or another dry, soft cloth. Never•
use any harsh or solvent-containing cleaning materials, since these damage the surface of
the device.
If the device is extremely dirty, it may also be wiped off with a slightly moist cloth and dried•
off with a dry, soft cloth.
Clean the eDock in the same way as the device.•
During the cleaning, make sure that there is no lateral pull on the cables. This might dama-•
ge the connecting jacks.
2.13 Disposal
Devices that are marked with the symbol shown here may not be disposed of in household
trash but have to be brought to a reception point for the recycling of electrical and electrotech-
nical devices.
Batteries may contain toxic heavy metals and are subject to hazardous waste
treatment. Bring the batteries to a municipal collection point or have a specialized
company dispose of them.
