1 About this manual
1.1 Preface
Dear customer, thank you very much for using the industrial and
commercial energy storage products developed and produced by
Shanghai Sermatec Energy Technology Co., Ltd. We sincerely hope this
product can meet your needs, and hope you can put forward more
opinions on the performance and function of the product . We will
continue to improve the product quality.
1.2 Model definition
The definitions of the product models involved in this manual are
shown in Figure 1-1:
SMT-100kWh
Nominal maximum system capacity: 100kWh
Power level: 50kW / 100kWh
SMT-100kWh: The maximum output power is 50kW, compatible with
30kW. The nominal capacity of the battery system is 100kWh.
1.3 Applicable personnel
This manual is intended for personnel who operate, maintain, and
perform other tasks on energy storage products. The reader needs
some electrical knowledge and is familiar with the electrical
schematics and the characteristics of electronic components.
1.4 Manual Use
Please read this manual carefully before using this product. Replace
this manual and other materials in the product components and store
them together, and ensure that relevant personnel can easily access
them.

1.5 Symbol usage
In order to ensure the safety of users and property when using this
product, or to use this product efficiently and optimally, the manual
provides relevant information and highlights it with appropriate
symbols.
The following lists some symbols which may be used in this manual.
Please read them carefully to make better use of this manual.
Danger
"Dangerous" indicates a highly potentially dangerous situation that, if
not avoided, could result in death or serious injury.
Warning
"Warning" indicates a moderate potential hazard, if not avoided, could
lead to death or serious injury.
Caution
"Caution" indicates a low-level potential hazard, if not avoided, could
lead to a situation that could result in moderate or minor injury.
Notes
"Caution" indicates a potentially hazardous situation that, if not
avoided, could result in equipment that may not function properly or
cause property damage.
Please pay attention to the danger warning signs on the body. The
signs include:

Mark
Definition
This mark indicates that there is high voltage inside the
body, and contact may cause danger to the motor.
This mark indicates that the temperature is higher than
the human acceptable range. Do not touch it arbitrarily
to avoid personal injury.
This symbol indicates that this is the protective earth
(PE) terminal, which needs to be firmly grounded to
ensure the safety of the operator.

2 Safety instructions
2.1 Safety instructions
This section describes general safety precautions that need to be
taken into account when operating industrial and commercial energy
storage systems. For the safety instructions in the specific use and
maintenance procedures, please refer to the corresponding chapter
warning instructions.
Danger
Touching contacts or terminals which connected to the power grid or
inside the equipment may cause electric shock to death!
·Do not touch the terminals or conductors connected to the grid
circuit.
·Pay attention to all instructions or safety instructions regarding
connection to the power grid.
Danger
Fatal high voltage inside the product!
·Heed and observe the warning signs on the product.
·Observe the safety precautions listed in this manual and other
related documents of this equipment.
Danger
Damage to the equipment or system may cause electric shock or fire!
·Preliminarily check the equipment for damage or other dangers
before operation.
·Check if other external equipment or circuit connections are safe.
·Confirm that this equipment is in a safe state before operation.

Warning
After maintenance and repair work is completed, the equipment
should be powered in strict accordance with the steps in this manual.
2.2 Precautions during operation
2.2.1 Manual storage
This manual contains important information on the operation of
industrial and commercial energy storage. Please read this manual
carefully before operating industrial and commercial energy storage.
Please operate industrial and commercial energy storage products
strictly in accordance with the description in this manual; otherwise, it
may cause equipment damage, personal injury and property damage.
This manual should be properly kept to ensure that maintenance,
inspection and other operators can obtain it at any time.
2.2.2 Staff requirements
Only professional electricians or qualified personnel can perform
various operations on this product.
The operator should be fully familiar with the composition and
working principle of the entire energy storage system.
The operator should be fully familiar with the relevant standards of
the country / region where the project is located.
2.2.3 Body identification protection
The warning signs on the body of the energy storage product and
inside the cabinet contain important information for safe operation of
the energy storage system. No artificial tearing or damage!
A nameplate is installed inside the front door of the energy storage
product. The nameplate contains important information related to the
product. No artificial tearing or damage!

2.2.4 Security warning sign settings
When carrying out operations such as installation, daily maintenance,
and overhaul of industrial and commercial energy storage, in order to
prevent irrelevant personnel from approaching and mishandling or
accidents. Please observe the following:
·Set up warning signs or set up safety warning tapes near the
operation area.
·After maintenance or overhaul operations are completed, be sure
to pull out the cabinet door key and keep it properly.
2.2.5 Requirements for escape routes
To ensure that staff can be evacuated quickly in the event of an
accident, please observe the following:
·In the entire process of maintenance, repair and other operations
of the energy storage system, it is necessary to ensure that the escape
channel is completely unblocked.
·It is strictly forbidden to pile up debris in the escape channel or
occupy the escape channel in any form.
2.2.6 Energy storage battery protection
For energy storage power stations, the voltage between the positive
and negative poles of the energy storage battery pack is very high. If
accidentally touched, there is a risk of electric shock or even death.
Notes
·Make sure the body logo is legible at all times.
·If the body logo is damaged or blurred, it must be replaced
immediately.

Danger
Fatal high voltage exists between the positive and negative poles of
the energy storage battery pack!
•When maintaining the equipment, ensure that the connection
between the energy storage converter and the energy storage battery
pack is completely disconnected.
•Set up warning signs at the disconnection to ensure that they will
not reconnect accidentally.
2.2.7 live measurement
Danger
There is high voltage in the device. Accidental contact may cause fatal
electric shock. Therefore, when carrying out live measurement, you
should:
•Do protective work (such as wearing insulated gloves, etc.).
•Must be accompanied to ensure personal safety.
2.2.8 Precautions during maintenance or repair
Warning
After both the AC and DC sides of the energy storage system are
disconnected, be sure to wait 15 minutes before opening the rear
door to perform maintenance or repairs on the power distribution
part.
By performing a shutdown operation, the energy storage system has
been smoothly taken out of operation.
Also note the following:
•Ensure that the energy storage system cannot be accidentally
re-powered on.
•Use a multi-meter to ensure that the AC side of the energy storage
system is completely de-energized.
•Perform necessary grounding and short-circuit connections.
