Understanding Web Management
Overview
Web management manages wireless network devices through browsers like IEs.
Working Principle
Web management involves a Web server and Web clients. The Web server is deployed on an AC to receive and
process requests from Web clients (reading Web files or executing request commands), and returns processing
results to the clients. A Web client usually refers to a Web browser, such as an IE.

Requirements for Clients
Administrators usually log in to the AC Web management interface through a client Web browser to manage
the AC. Clients are often PCs or other mobile terminal devices, such as a laptop or an iPad.
Browsers include Google Chrome, Firefox, and IEs, including IE6.0, IE7.0, IE8.0, and IE core-based
browsers like Maxthon
The recommended resolutions are 1024x768, 1280x1024, and 1440x960. Other resolutions may make
characters and formats on pages unaligned and unpleasant.
Requirements for Server
The Web service needs to be configured and enabled on the AC.
Web login authentication information needs to be configured on the AC.
A management IP address needs to be configured on the AC.
Default Configuration
The following table describes the default Web management configuration.

To enable the Web service, see section "Typical Configuration Example of Web Management" in the
following context.
When entering values of configuration items (such as port description and VLAN description) via CLI,
please try not to use spaces. Otherwise an error may occurred in Web Management.
Configuring Web Management
Enter the management IP address of the AC (such as http://192.168.110.1) into the browser address bar and
press Enter to display the following page.

Please enter your user name and password and click Login. If you pass the authentication, the system home
page is displayed. When logging in to the system at the first time, you enter the Configuration Wizard interface.
When logging in again, you enter the monitoring home page.

Click the System Home Page menu to enter the following page.

Configuration description: System Home Page helps users learn about AC status and general network
information as follows:AC resource status
System status tendency
Interface traffic tendency
Top 10 APs by health status
Current user status
AC resource status: Display the CPU utilization of the current AC, sizes of the available memory and flash
memory, as well as general system information (including the number of online STAs, numbers of online/offline
APs, and authentication server status).System status tendency: Display the tendency of saturations of online APs
and online STAs in the last 10 hours (Saturation of online APs = Number of Online APs/Maximum number of APs;
Saturation of online STAs = Number of Online STAs/Maximum number of STAs). You can go to the Monitor > AC
Info page by clicking More.Interface traffic tendency: Display the real-time tendency of received and sent traffic
on the port specified in the drop-down box. You can go to the Monitor > AC Info page by clicking More.AP health
top table: Display APs arranged in descending order based on one of four options. The table contains the options
of AP Name, CPU, Free Memory, Bandwidth Rate and Sta Rate (Saturation of online STAs = Number of Online
STAs/Maximum number of STAs). You can set a fixed color value for the horizontal bar by clicking Settings, and
go to the Monitor > AP Info page by clicking More.Current user status: Display the proportion of STAs with
strong RSSI, middle RSSI, and low RSSI. The numbers of online STAs and roaming STAs are displayed below
the pie chart. You can go to the Monitor > User Info page by clicking the number after Online STAs, and the

Advanced > Roaming Management page by clicking the number after Roaming STAs. You can also go to the
Monitor > User Info page by clicking More.
Configuration Wizard
Click the Configuration Wizard menu to enter the configuration wizard home page, which includes the sub-pages
of Configuration Wizard Home Page, Wired Network Communications, AC-AP Communications, WLAN
Configuration, AP Upgrade Configuration, and Other Configuration. Configuration Wizard is used to establish a
simple network, which is a basis for establishing a complete network.
