Quick Reference Guide for PAR Sensor
1Introduction
The purpose of this Quick Start Guide is to briefly explain what a PAR sensor is and
how it can be set up and used.
1.1 Introduction to PAR Sensor
The Ridder PAR Sensor is a sensor that measures Photosynthetically Active Radiation
(PAR) in the spectral range from 389 to 692 nm ± 5nm. The sensor is suitable for
natural light and artificial light, including SON-T and LED (including red).
1.2 Use
The PAR Sensor can be connected to the following Ridder process computers: CX500,
MultiMa and HortiMaX-Go!. Only operate the equipment if you are familiar with how these
process computers work. The data that the sensor collects is combined with data from other
sensors. This gives you an accurate picture of the current conditions in your greenhouse,
and allows you to adjust your climate and irrigation controls accordingly. You can do this
using the historical and cumulative data that the PAR Sensor has measured.
1.3 Additional documentation
You can read more about the installation and use of PAR sensor in the following documents:
−HortiMaX-Go! Installation Manual
−HortiMaX-Go! User Manual
−CX500 Dealer Manual
−PAR Sensor Insert
−OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) documentation provided.
