1. General information
The DCD-230 core drilling machine referred to in these operating instructions
has been manufactured using state-of-the-art technology. All components are
subjected to rigorous quality assurance criteria during the manufacturing
process. Our management systems are certified in accordance with ISO 9001.
These operating instructions contain important information about handling the
DCD-230. Safe operation of the device requires adherence to all safety
instructions and operating guidelines.
The local accident prevention regulations applicable to the area in which the
DCD-230 is being used should also be adhered to, along with general safety
guidelines.
The operating instructions are part of the product and must be stored in close
proximity to the DCD-230 where they should be readily accessible to
qualified personnel at all times.
The qualified personnel must have carefully read and understood the
operating instructions prior to operating the device.
The manufacturer shall not be liable for any damage whatsoever arising
through improper use, failure to comply with these operating instructions,
assignment of inadequately qualified personnel, or unauthorised modification
of the DCD-230.
The General Terms and Conditions as set out in the sales documentation
shall apply.

2. Safety
WARNING!
Before setup and operation of the device, ensure that it is not
damaged in any way. Failure to comply could result in serious
physical injury and/or material damage.

2.1. Intended use
This device is to be used for wet or dry drilling in reinforced concrete and
brickwork.
The DCD-230 has been designed and manufactured exclusively for the
intended purpose outlined in this document, and must therefore only be used
accordingly.
The technical specifications outlined in these operating instructions must be
observed. Improper handling or operation of the DCD-230 not in accordance
with the technical specifications requires immediate shutdown of the device and
inspection by an authorised REFCO service engineer.
The electronic components must be treated with the requisite caution (avoid
exposure to moisture, sudden impacts, strong magnetic fields and extreme
temperatures, and do not insert any items into the device and /or openings).
Protect the plug from contamination.
Any claims whatsoever arising from improper use of the device shall be
excluded.

2.2. Personnel qualifications
WARNING!

Improper handling of the device can lead to serious personal and
material damage.
The activities described in these operating instructions should
only be carried out by skilled personnel in possession of the
qualifications outlined below.
Keep unqualified personnel away from hazardous areas.
Skilled personnel
Skilled personnel are workers who, through their specialist training and
operational knowledge of the core drilling machine, are capable of carrying out
the described work and independently identifying potential hazards.
2.3. Special hazards
Protect the machine from wet and damp conditions when in use!

Cease operation of the device immediately if the wire cable is
damaged in any way!

It is compulsory to wear safety goggles, a dust protection mask
and ear protection

4. Structure and function
4.1. Description
The DCD-230 is a sturdy, light and very powerful core drilling machine. The
practical, adjustable shoulder rest makes it easy to work with sufficient pressure.
When wet drilling into concrete, a PRCD safety switch and a built-in safety
clutch ensure safe operation. The case made of tough plastic provides sufficient
space for storing the required tool and the diamond core drill bit.

5. Transportation, packaging and storage
5.1. Transportation
Inspect the machine for any potential transportation damage. Any obvious
damage should be reported to the vendor immediately.
5.2. Packaging
Retain the original packaging as it provides optimum protection for
transportation of the device (e.g. onward dispatch of the device, sending it for
repair etc.).
5.3. Storage
Permitted storage conditions:
Storage temperature: -5 to +45 °C
Humidity: 0 to 90 % relative humidity (no condensation)
Avoid exposure to the following conditions:
Proximity to hot objects
Mechanical shock (setting device down too firmly, or dropping it)
Soot, steam, moisture, dust and corrosive gases
