abnormally. When in doubt, have the
thermometer serviced/checked by an
approved service engineer.
4. Do not operate the thermometer around
explosive gas, vapour, or dust.
5. Do not use the thermometer and probes
on or near live apparatus.
6. Reflective objects result in lower than actual
temperature measurements. These objects
pose a burn hazard.
7. Replace the batteries as soon as the battery
indicator appears. The possibility of false
readings can lead to personal injury.
8. Never attempt to open the unit and perform
any repairs this will automatically void

Maintenance
Maintenance Information.
• The unit may be cleaned using a dry soft cloth,
do not use a wet or abrasive cloth, solvents
or detergents.
• For extra protection always store the instrument
in the case provided when not in use.
Important Information.
• The thermometer has built in cold end
compensation. This will allow the thermometer
to automatically compensate between ambient
temperature within the thermometer and the
cold end temperature of the thermocouple/
probe.
• If there is a sudden change in the environmental
temperature, the instrument should be
acclimatised for a minimum of 30 minutes. This
will ensure the ambient temperature is the same,
both inside and outside of the thermometer.
• Do not place the thermometer near to hot
objects.

4
Maintenance
Calibration.
To maintain the integrity of measurements,
Wolseley recommends that the thermometer
is calibrated annually at an approved
Calibration Laboratory.
Wolseley can offer this service,
please contact calibration@raptortool.co.uk
or call 0344 292 7060 to arrange.

Measurement
Method
Connect Thermocouple/Probe.
Press the power button to turn on the
thermometer and insert K Type into T1 or T2
port, or both for dual readings.
Always ensure + and - pins of the K Type plug
are inserted into the correct thermometer ports.
Failure to do this will result in an inaccurate
reading.
Select Unit of Temperature.
Press C/F/K button to select the unit of
measurement °C, °F, K (Kelvin).
Display Temperature Using T1 or T2 Only.
Place the thermocouple/probe in position
to record a measurement. The measurement
results will be displayed on the display screen
in the selected unit (Fig.1). If using only 1 port
T1 or T2, one position on screen will show
the temperature and other will show ----. By
pressing T1/T2 button this can be alternated.
Differential temperatures can not be shown
when using only 1 port.

Differential Temperature.
On initial set up T1 will always be on main
screen (Fig.3). Press T1/T2 button once to
switch to T2 (Fig.4) on main screen. By pressing
T1/T2 again this will show the differential
temperature between T1 & T2 (Fig.5). T1 actual
temperature will show top right of screen and
the differential temperature will show main
screen. Press T1/T2 again, and temperature
differential will still show on main screen and
the T2 actual temperature will now show in top
right of the screen. Press T1/T2 again to return
to temperature measurements.

If no thermocouples/probes is inserted or the
thermocouples/probes are faulty the LCD will
read “----” (Fig.2).

• Press T1/T2 button once and this will change
to T2 readings with actual temperature main
screen and Min, Max, Avg top right (Fig.7).
View MAX, MIN and AVG Readings.
Press REC button to view MAX, MIN or AVG
temperature. On pressing the REC button, the
timer will automatically start at 00.00. When
using only one port, use the T1/T2 button to
get the the port required on main screen and
press the record button to scroll through Max,
Min, Avg, this will show top right of screen.
• When using the dual ports T1 will initially
