Overview
This manual covers the six configurations offered by Phantom Window Works.
1. Phantom Shadow RODI-40 Manual
2. Phantom Shadow RODI-40 Powered
3. Phantom Shadow RODI-40 Auto
4. Phantom Shadow RODI-80 Manual
5. Phantom Shadow RODI-80 Powered
6. Phantom Shadow RODI-80 Auto
The Shadow is our only pure water system that is mounted over the top of the tank. It
can be installed on Softwash Systems cradle skids or used as a free standing unit for
companies that only do window cleaning. The Shadow RODI systems come in three
basic configurations: manual, powered and auto. Manual systems are 100% water
source powered meaning that whatever pressure comes from the tap dictates the
flow of the system. Powered systems are pump assisted systems but do not include
the computer controller. Auto systems are much like the powered systems except
that they include the automatic controller. In addition, choices can be made in either
a single reverse osmosis cartridge system which is designated as an RODI-40 or a
dual reverse osmosis cartridge system RODI-80. Both the 40 or the 80 designate
the overall length of reverse osmosis cartridge on the system, which is indicated in
inches.
DO NOT DRINK PURE WATER. NOT FOR HUMAN
OR ANIMAL CONSUMPTION.
Benefits of Pure Water
Water spots left behind on windows or glass from dried mineral build-up are a neg-
ative of soft washing. The pure water system filters out the minerals, dirt and other
chemicals in tap water, resulting in water that is 99.8% pure. When this pure water
comes in contact with the window it absorbs the minerals off the window with agita-
tion as well as other surfaces allowing the surface to dry spot free.
Main Components
• (1) Carbon Filter 40”
• (2) RO Filter 40”
• (1) DI Filter 40”
• (4) Filter Housing 40”
• Hoses
• Power Switch (Powered Model Only)
• Digital Controller (Auto Model Only)
• Electrical Float Valve
• TDS Meter (Auto Model Only)
• Motor Dimmer (Auto Model Only;
optional for Powered Model)
• RO filters include bypass valve for
discharging backwash and mineral
water
PURIFIED WATER SHOULD BE WIPED OR BLOWN OFF OF YOUR SYSTEM WITH REG-
ULAR WATER AND SHOULD NOT BE LEFT STANDING ON YOUR EQUIPMENT AS IT
WILL DAMAGE AND EAT AWAY AT THE SURFACES.

General Description and Operation
Manual System Description
The manual version has a water-in port and a water-out port. It fills the tank
underneath it with water. The user supplies their own pump to draw the water
from the unit.
Powered System Description
The powered version has two 12 volt pumps. At 25 amp each, the first pump is
used to push water through the membranes of all the cartridges to fill the pure
water tank. The second pump is used to supply a water fed pole and brush, or
for trigger rinsing. This unit consists of one 40” Carbon filter, one or two 40” RO
filter(s), one 40” DI filter. This unit has a power switch, a pressure gauge before
the filters and another pressure gauge for monitoring spray pressure.
General operation of Powered Pure Water Module:
1. Connect the raw water supply. Turn on water.
2. Fill the raw water tank (Powered and auto systems require buffer tank).
3. Turn power switch to number 1 in order to produce pure water to fill the pure
water storage tank.
4. Once the tank is filled to the desired level, turn the power switch to 2 to spray.
— You can make pure water WHILE ALSO spraying by turning the power
switch to 1 AND 2.
5. Use trigger sprayer to apply to desired surface, or supplu a water fed pole.es
Auto System Description
The auto version has two 12 volt pumps with a digital controller. This unit is fully
automatic with bluetooth remote capabilities. The controller is custom designed to
make using this model as simple and easy as possible. This unit can be controlled
from as far away as 500 feet (300 feed through building and obtacles). The first
pump is used to push water through the membranes of all the cartridges to fill the
pure water tank. The second pump is uused to supply a water fed pole and brush, or
for trigger rinsing. This unit consists of one 40” carbon filter, two 40” RO filter(s), one
40” DI filter. This unit is specially designed for making pure water while spraying. It
can be configured to fill on demand or manually fill each time pure water is needed
(see picture #1 and #2).
General Operation of Automatic Pure water Module:
1. Connect the water supply. Turn on water.
2. Fill the raw water tank (Powered and auto systems require buffer tank).

7
3. To start filling the pure water storage tank simply press and hold the up and
down buttons briefly.
4. This will activate the pump allowing water to fill the pure water storage tank
until the float switch detects that the tank is full and it will automatically turn
off. Pure water can be made even while spraying (see pump controler detail).
5. While the pure water storage tank is filling, the display will flash the message
FIL [fill].
“Pump Controller - Quick Start Basics” Information
How to use the Pump Controller
Operating Warnings
Adjust your flow settings carefully. Repeated false dead-end detection indicates that
the Cal value should be increased (less sensitive).
For absolute safety always wire through the pump pressure switch. (The pressure
switch can be bypassed if absolutely necessary - the unit will protect itself under
normal conditions.)
This is a WATER PUMP controller: it will not work with air in the system. Always
prime your system before starting work. If air in the system causes false dead-end
detection, increase Cal value (less sensitive).
Do not set the Cal value too high. Setting it higher than necessary places extra strain
on both the pump and the controller in a dead end situation. This can result in dam-
age to both the pump and your controller.
