1. Introduction
Intended Use of SmartDrive MX2+ App
e SmartDrive MX2+ software application (app) is intended to be used on the Push-
Tracker E2 (TicWatch E2) to operate the SmartDrive Wheelchair Power Assist device.
Refer to the labeling and documentation of other components or product for their
intended use, instruction, wireless, EMI and all other specication / information.
Warnings and Safety Precautions
All warnings and safety precautions issued by one’s wheelchair manufacturer
must be heeded in addition to those stated in this and any other provided
manuals / instructions / guides, to include that provided within the
SmartDrive MX2+ app.Failure to do so could result in serious injury or death.
Use of the SmartDrive MX2+ app or the SmartDrive by anyone who has not received
proper instruction from this manual, the SmartDrive User’s Manual and any other
provided manuals / instructions / guides may result in serious injury or death.
Use of the SmartDrive MX2+ app is to be ONLY on the PushTracker E2 (TicWatch
E2) through its release in the applicable app Store(s) as made available by Permobil
[SmartDrive] / Max Mobility.
Always inspect your PushTracker E2 for missing parts / damage prior to each use.
Make sure your PushTracker E2 is charged before use.
When crossing major roads, intersection, railway crossings or highways as well as when
you drive steep,long slopes you should always consider having somebody accompany
you in the interest of your safety.
e PushTracker E2 should ONLY be worn by the user sitting in the wheelchair with
the SmartDrive attached.
Always turn OFF the power assist [via SmartDrive MX2+ app] when parked to
prevent accidental activation.

e Serial Number of your PushTracker E2 can be found in the Settings app.
It is recommended that you save this User’s Manual and record the Serial
Number below for reference.

Tapping force does not need to be excessive or "hard". Gentle, sti wrist taps at a
reasonable speed [i.e. one half (0.5) second between taps] is sucient.Refer to the
SmartDrive User's Manual for complete instruction.
Always use caution when transferring in or out of the wheelchair.Every precaution
should be taken to reduce the transfer distance and be certain the wheel locks are
engaged to prevent the wheels from moving. Also always make sure the power assist
is OFF [via the SmartDrive MX2+ app] when transferring to and from your chair.
e PushTracker E2 has passed industry climate testing, and is considered swim-
ready [up to 50 m]. Refer to the other provided manuals / instructions / guides for
complete detail regarding its water restance performance.

AttachingYour PushTracker E2
e PushTracker E2 is designed to comfortably and securely attach to the top part of
wrists of all sizes. It has an embedded accelerometer to recognize when you push, when
you want to activate the power assist and also when you tap your hand against the handrim
to deactivate the power assist. Additionally, it is equipped with an AMOLED screen and
vibration motor to indicate dierent information, states and activations / deactivations that
occur during everyday use.
e band on the PushTracker E2 is designed for most users; but if you have diculty
securing the buckle / clasp, it doesn’t t right, or you wish to have one of a dierent color /
material, the band can be easily replaced with essentially any 0.87 in (22 mm) wide o-the-
shelf watch band of your choosing.
It is recommended that your PushTracker be worn snug on your wrist to get the
most reliable recognition of your hand movement for SmartDrive operation,
propulsion activity tracking, etc. Ability to operate / maneuverer the wheelchair
can be aected if the PushTracker,watches, jewellery, etc. are worn loosely or
positioned such that they can become loose and interfere with handrim operation.
Electromagnetic Interference (EMI)
Refer to the SmartDrive User’s Manual for EMI specications.
Bluetooth Wireless Communication
Bluetooth wireless communication [2.4 GHz frequency band] is used by the PushTracker
E2 to communicate to the SmartDrive when to activate/deactivate the power assist, send
and receive signals from a smartphone, etc. e PushTracker E2 must be within 25 ft (8
meters) of the SmartDrive / smartphone to connect and communicate. e maximum
output power of this technology is 10 mW, and the operation of this device in close
proximity to other wireless devices [i.e. electromagnetic security systems, Bluetooth
headsets, etc.] could cause the device to lose connection. Power assist is always deactivated
whenever the motor is driving and there is a loss of connection; the SmartDrive will beep
and PushTracker E2 will also give indication when this happens. Worst case coexistence
testing was performed on the device to ensure its safety and eectiveness. Please contact
Permobil [SmartDrive] / Max Mobility immediately for troubleshooting if continuous
connection issues are experienced with the device.

Intial Set-Up
After powering on, follow the prompts closely on the PushTracker E2 to initially set up
with your smartphone / device. If any serious diculties are experienced during set-up, go
to the Permobil [SmartDrive] / Max Mobility website for more information and support.
A Wi-Fi connection on the PushTracker E2 may be required to access the
Google Play Store. If you do not have access to a Wi-Fi network in your
location, set up and connect to a Personal Hotspot from your smartphone /
device. Carrier or device restrictions and data rates may apply.
[Skip if you do not have a SmartDrive] Upon successful completion of set-up, go to the
Google Play Store app on the PushTracker E2, search for [i.e. "smart drive", "smartdrive",
etc.] and get the SmartDrive MX2+ app.
SmartDrive MX2+
To start monitoring your wheelchair propulsion activity even if you do not have a
SmartDrive,go to the Google Play Store app on the PushTracker E2, search for [i.e.
"push tracker", "pushtracker", etc.] and get the PushTracker app [see the "Companion
App" section for more details].
SmartDrive Pairing
Initial pairing of the PushTracker E2 to a SmartDrive is required, and this is done in the
SmartDrive MX2+ app. If the SmartDrive MX2+ app has not been previously paired to a
SmartDrive, turning power assist ON will initiate the pairing. If the SmartDrive MX2+
app has been previously paired to a SmartDrive, pairing can be done in the Settings menu
on the app.
Power Assist Activated
After successful pairing, power assist is turned ON and the SmartDrive MX2+ app
is connected to the SmartDrive, the Indication will ash blue.When the SmartDrive
motor is driving, the Indication will be solid blue. e Indication will ash red when

the SmartDrive MX2+ App is trying to connect or has lost wireless connection to
the SmartDrive.Whenever there is a change of state to the SmartDrive, you will feel
vibration as additional indication from your PushTracker E2.
When power assist is ON and the SmartDrive motor is driving, the SmartDrive MX2+
app will display your current speed.e Indication will light up with various colors to
notify you of the SmartDrive’s current state.
Additional detail / information that is helpful in explaining dierent features of the app
and the SmartDrive is provided throughout the SmartDrive MX2+ app [by clicking (i)].
Refer to the SmartDrive User's Manual for its operation information and instruction.
3. Companion App
PushTracker Apps
For the best experience with your SmartDrive and PushTracker E2, download the
PushTracker app on both your PushTracker E2 and your smartphone. is will allow you
to track your propulsion activity progress, set goals and more.
PushTrackerWear OS App
Within the SmartDrive MX2+ app there is an option to connect to the
PushTracker mobile (smartphone) app.e rst time this is selected you will be
taken to the Google Play Store to get the PushTracker app on your
PushTracker E2 [if this has not already been installed].is app is required on
the PushTracker E2 in order to use the PushTracker mobile app.

PushTracker Mobile App
Download the PushTracker mobile (smartphone) app on your phone / device to get
an enhanced view of your propulsion activity. In this app you will also have the
added fucntionality of setting your activity goals, track your progress and more.
4. Maintenance
Inspection
Always inspect the PushTracker E2 for missing parts / damage prior to each use. Cease
use and contact Permobil [SmartDrive] / Max Mobility or your mobility equipment
dealer if you notice any of the following:
• Broken or cracked plastic
• Broken buckle or ripped bands
• Damaged display
Updates and Other Maintenance
Check regularly to ensure your device is running the latest versions, as features are added
and improvements are made.
Troubleshooting
Contact Permobil {SmartDrive] / Max Mobility or your mobility equipment dealer for
any other issues that you experience with the device or app. It is strongly recommended
to update the versions on your device to the latest version prior to any troubleshooting as
your issue may have been resolved in later releases.
Do not throw away the PushTracker E2. Please properly dispose of the
battery by recycling at the end of its life or send it back to Permobil
[SmartDrive] / Max Mobility.

5. Warranty
Permobil [SmartDrive] / Max Mobility oers a 1 year warranty against manufacturing de-
fects. Permobil [SmartDrive] / Max Mobility’s obligation under this warranty shall be limited
to repairing or providing replacement of part(s), which are found to be defective. Any part(s)
of the system replaced by us at our discretion shall be with a functionally operative part.
is warranty may be voided if: 1) the product is not used according to instructions given
in this instruction manual, 2) defects were caused by improper use as determined by the
company personnel, 3) modication or alteration of any nature is made in the electrical
circuitry or physical construction, or 4) defects are due to cause beyond control like
lightning, abnormal voltage or while in transit at the purchaser’s place of business.
