STEP 1: INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE
Installing the software on Windows 98 SE, Me, 2000 and XP
Follow the instructions below to install the software for the Parrot DONGLE:
IMPORTANT: Do not put the Parrot DONGLE in the USB port before you install the
software.
1. Insert the software installation CD in the CD-ROM drive of the computer.
2. The installation process will start automatically.
3. Click on the «Bluetooth Software» button to start the Parrot DONGLE installation
program.
4. The «Software InstallShield Wizard» window will appear. Click on «Next» to start
the installation.
5. You must accept the terms of the licence agreement in order to continue with the
installation. After you have done this, click on «Next».
6. Enter the location on the hard disk where you want to install the software. We
recommend installing the software in the default folder «C:\Program Files\WID-
COMM\Bluetooth Software\». Click on «Next» to continue.

7. Confirm that you want to install the Parrot DONGLE software now and then click
on «Install».
8. The InstallShield Wizard will start the installation. This may take a little time.
Note: If the «Driver signature note» window appears during the installation process, click
on «OK» to continue with the installation.
9. During the installation process you may be asked to connect the Parrot DONGLE.
If the dongle is not yet plugged into the computer, you must connect it to a USB
1.1-compatible port on your PC or laptop. Then click on «OK» to continue. If you
want to continue the installation without connecting the Bluetooth peripheral,
click on «Cancel».
10. The «Software InstallShield Wizard» will then install the various functions
available with the Parrot DONGLE.
11. Confirm the end of the installation process by clicking on «Finish» and restart
your computer, if you are prompted to do so.

STEP 2: INSTALLING THE PARROT DONGLE
Installing the Parrot DONGLE for Windows 98 SE, Me, 2000 and XP
Follow the instructions below to install the USB adapter on your computer:
IMPORTANT: The USB adapter is sensitive to static electricity. The highly sensitive elec-
trical adapter components can be damaged by static. To protect the peripheral, always
touch the metal case of the computer before handling the USB adapter. This ensures
that you discharge any static electricity. You should avoid any contact with the metal
connector when handling the USB adapter. Very dry weather or simply walking across
the floor can cause a static charge to build up on your body.
1. Connect the USB adapter directly to a free, type-A USB port on your PC or laptop.
Your system will identify a new USB peripheral.
2. In the window that appears, choose the «Install from a list or specific location»
option and click on «Next».
3. Select the folder where the driver for the peripheral has been installed –
«C:\Program Files\WIDCOMM\Bluetooth Software\bin» – and click on «Next».
4. You will then see a message confirming that the driver has been installed. Click on
«Finish» to end the installation process.

UNINSTALLING THE SOFTWARE
Uninstalling the software from Windows 98 SE, Me, 2000 and XP
1. Click on the «Start» button and choose «Settings/Control Panel».
2. Double-click on the «Add or Remove Programs» icon and select the «WIDCOMM
Bluetooth Software» program.
3. The software will then be uninstalled. You may be asked to restart your computer.
