CHAPTER 1 | INTRODUCTION
The ENV-250S Switch is offered as an alternative to the ENV-250A. The ENV-250A is a complete
lickometer unit that will also switch a direct aversive stimulation output to the sipper tube
spout. The ENV-250S Switch does not include the lickometer amplifier and must be used with
one of the standard contact lickometer controllers, ENV-250, ENV-250B or ENV-250C. It will
switch each of the nine leads of the grid harness between the lickometer amplifier and the nine
outputs of the ENV-412 Scrambler. This permits the delivery of scrambled foot aversive
stimulation with any of the three lickometer controllers listed. Lick data collection is
momentarily interrupted during aversive stimulation delivery. For continuous data collection
during aversive stimulation delivery it would be necessary to use one of the photobeam
lickometers (ENV-251L or ENV-251M).
Front Panel Connections
1. Using the included SG-216A Male-to-Female 3-pin Molex cable, connect the 28V OPERATE
connector on the ENV-250S to any available OUTPUT on a Standard MED Connection Panel.
2. Connect the red wire from the lickometer to the red wire on the SG-219G2-MINIMOL-ADP
cable.
3. Using the SG-203-18-BLK-L Male-to-Male .080 Pin cable, connect the LICKOMETER
COMMON connector to the black wire on the SG-219G2-MINIMOL-ADP cable.
