Leg Extension Adjustment

The leg extension is secured with a spring-loaded catch pawl (Fig. 2A). Adjustments can be made to the leg

extensions in 1" increments by extending or retracting the inner leg for the optimal angle and to adjust for

the ground surface angle.

1. Pull the spring-loaded catch pawl (Fig. 2A) up to release it from the tube and the slot

in the angle.

2. Extend or retract the inner leg (Fig. 3A) as needed so the steps are parallel to the ground and level

when extended, and unobtrusive while retracted.

3. When the leg is at the desired position, release the spring-loaded catch pawl into the tube and slot

closest to where the inner leg and tube meet to lock them (Fig. 4).

Securing and Storing the Steps

1. Retract leg extensions. See Leg Extension Adjustment section.

2. Lift up SolidStep 4.0 to its stored position (Fig. 1) until the transport locks engage and click into place.

3. Make sure the latches (Figs. 6A and 7A) are resting against the door frame.

4. Once the transport lock has been engaged, test its functionality by shaking the step assembly to

simulate road vibration, making sure that the SolidStep 4.0 is secure.

Adjusting the Transport Lock

1. To verify the transport lock adjustment is working properly, the SolidStep 4.0 should be in the stored

position (Fig. 5). Make sure transport latch flanges (Figs. 5A, 6A, and 7A) are resting against the door

frame. If final adjustment is required, loosen the two bolts (Fig. 6B and Fig. 7B) on either side of the

adjustable transport lock. This allows for side-to-side adjustment in the latch mechanism.

Attempting to engage the transport lock without proper adjustment may cause damage to the door

frame or step assembly.
