• Read operator’s instruction book before operating this machine
• Your hearing is at risk of irreparable damage. Anyone operating this machine under normal
conditions during continuous daily use may be exposed to a noise level equal to or exceeding
85 dB (A). The operator must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Whenever themachine
is in use, safety goggles must be worn to safeguard against flying objects, as mustear protectors,
such as a soundproof helmet, in order to protect the operator’s hearing. If theoperator is working in
an area where there is a risk of falling objects, a safety helmet must alsobe worn.
• Wear safety footwear with non-slip soles and steel toecaps. Wear gloves to protect against cuts.
• Acoustic power level LWAin accordance with directive 2000/14/EC.
• Danger: Deadly fumes!
During use, the machine produces toxic gases. Do not use the machine in closed or poorly
ventilated areas. These fumes are deadly!
• Danger: Fire!
2-stroke is inflammable. Do not spill.
• Keep away from naked flames. Do not smoke. Do not spill fuel. Never attempt to refill while the
motor is running or hot.
• Warning! Hot surfaces.
During operation and for a certain time after the machine has been switched off, the silencer,
cylinder, motor casing etc. will be hot. Do not touch them until they have cooled down. You risk
getting burned!
• Danger of kickback!
Kickback causes the chain saw to move suddenly and uncontrollably towards the operator.Always
work in safety. Use chains with safety links that limit kickback. Always check chain tension and
that it is sharp. Always cut at full speed. Only cut one branch at a time. Check the position of the
trunk to prevent the chain from becoming wedged in the cut
• Do not cut with the tip!This is dangerous and increases the risk of chain saw kickback.Danger of
serious injury of death.
• Never use one hand only! Hold the machine firmly with both hands. This operation allows cor-rect
control of the chain saw and limits the risk of kickback.
Read carefully all the other safety standards included in this booklet.

satisfying for you and fully meet your expectations. This manual has been drawn up to allow your to get to know your
machine well and use it in safe and efficient conditions; please do not forget that it is an integral part of the machine and
keep it to hand to be consulted at all times and consign it with the machine if you should sell or lend it to others.
Your new machine has been designed and manufactured to current standards and is safe and reliable if used in
full respect of the instructions contained in this manual (forecast use); any other use or failure to comply with the
instructions for safe use, maintenance and repair shall be considered as “improper use”, cause the warranty to become
null and void and relieve the Manufacturer from all responsibility, with the user becoming responsible for charges for
damages or personal or third party injury.
If any slight differences are found between the description herein and the machine you own, please bear in mind that
due to continual product improvement, the information contained in this manual is subject to modification without
prior notice or obligatory updating, although the essential features for the purposes of safety and operation remain

Safety instructions
Warning: This machine ha been conceived for
semiprofessional use.
Each component of the saw may become a source of
potential danger in the event of incorrect use or poor
maintenance. It is advisable to pay particular attention to
the paragraphs preceded by the following words:
Precautions
Warning of the possible risk of serious personal
injury or damage to material, in the event of failure to
comply with the instructions.
TRAINING
Read the instructions in this manual carefully.
Before using the chain saw you must become familiar
with the controls and learn how to stop the engine quickly.
You must also learn how to use it correctly.
Never allow minors or those who are not familiar with
the instructions to use the chain saw.
Use by minors over 16 years of age is only allowed for
the purpose of learning under the surveillance of an
instructor.
Do not use the chain saw:
• when there are bystanders, especially children or pets,
nearby. Always check the distance of bystanders.
The saw must only be used by one person;
• if the user has taken medication or is under the
influence of alcohol or drugs that could impair
reflexes or visual capacities;
• when fatigued or feeling unwell;
• without safety devices, such as the front guard
(hand guard) or when these devices are damaged;
• in closed or poorly ventilated areas, to prevent
highly toxic carbon monoxide from accumulating;
Do not adjust the chain saw
This could seriously endanger the operator’s safety,
leading to the risk of accidents and serious injuries.
Bear in mind that the owner or user is responsible for
accidents or risks to third parties or to their property.
When transporting the chain saw:
• switch off the engine or in any case trip the safety
device, chain brake, to prevent accidental chain
start-up;
• always fit the chain catcher;
• transport the chain saw holding it only by the front
handle (handrail);
• avoid contact with hot surfaces and especially with
the silencer (danger of burns);
• point the guide bar to the rear of the direction in
which you are travelling;
• when transporting the chain saw with a vehicle, place
it where it cannot cause danger to anyone and fix
it securely to prevent it from falling over, leading to
possible damage and fuel spillage (fire hazard);
• always switch off the chain saw when not in use.
Do not create sources of danger either for others
or yourself!
Always switch off the engine before filling with
fuel.
• Do not smoke and keep away from naked flames.
Danger of fire and serious burns or death.
• Do not fill when the engine is hot. In this situation of
high temperature, any remaining fuel could spill from
the tank and catch fire.
• Take care over spraying caused by pressure forming
in the tank. Open the fuel cap slowly to allow
pressure to be released gradually.
• Always fill in well ventilated places.
• Clean any traces of fuel from the chain saw and the
place in which filling is carried out. Prevent fuel from
coming into contact with clothing. In the event of
contact change your clothing, as it is a fire hazard.
• After filling, clamp the fuel cap tightly and check the
seal. Do not start the saw if there is any leakage,
as this could cause danger of serious burns.
• Do not start up the saw in the place in which filling
took place.
Clothing.
Clothing must be suitable and MUST NOT be in any way
restricting for the user.
• Wear snug-fitting clothing providing protection
against cuts.
• Do not wear scarves, shirts, jewellery or any hanging
or loose accessories that could become caught in the
chain saw or in objects and materials present in the
workplace.
• Wear gloves, safety footwear with non-slip soles and
goggles. Use ear protectors to protect hearing.
• During cutting operations wear the protective helmet
fitted with visor and ear protectors.
Your dealer can provide you with information on safety
material and has high quality items to offer its customers
maximum safety when working.
Before starting up
Before starting to use the chain saw check the following:
• chain brake device operating and efficient;
• bar and chain fitted correctly;
• correct chain tension;
the throttle lever and safety lever move freely, without
having to be forced and when released they return
to neutral automatically and quickly. It must not be
possible to activate the throttle lever before having
released the safety lever;
• the Stop switch is functioning and easy to move;
• the electric cables, especially the high voltage cable
(spark plug cable) are in good condition to prevent
any sparks that could cause fuel to ignite. Also check
correct connection between spark plug cap and
spark plug;
• the handles are fixed firmly to the saw and are clean
and dry.
Starting the engine
• Rest the chain saw on the ground holding it down
firmly. The left hand on the front handle and the right
foot on the rear handle.

• Move the saw at least 3 metres away from the filling
point before starting the engine.
• Check that there is no-one in the range of action of
the saw. The chain saw must only be handled by one
person.
• Never start up the chain saw indoors.
• Never direct the silencer, and hence the exhaust
gases, in the direction of flammable materials.
• Check the minimum speed of the saw, which must
not allow the chain to rotate.
Moreover, after acceleration the engine must return
quickly to the minimum speed when the throttle is
released.
If this is not the case do not start to work, adjust the
minimum speed and solve these problems. (see
paragraph “Setting carburation”).
Warning: checking and adjusting the carburettor
and the minimum speed is the only operation
performed with the engine running.
• Check that chain lubrication is regular. Oil supply to
the chain indicates that the oil pump is functioning
correctly.
WARNING UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES
should the chain saw be used if the chain is
not lubricated, as this would cause irreparable
damage to all cutting parts in a very short time!
When working
When working comply with the following:
• work in daylight. Visibility is essential to guarantee
safety conditions;
• stand in a firm and steady position. Where possible,
avoid working on wet or slippery ground or ground
that is excessively rough or steep and does not allow
the operator to work in a steady position.
The user is responsible for assessing potential risks of
the working ground and taking all precautions required
to guarantee personal safety.
• Never work without a pawl. This is especially
important when felling.
• When working at a height:
a) only work on an elevating work platform
b) do not use ladders
c) do not climb on the tree
d) do not work in unstable positions
e) do not work above shoulder level
f) do not use only one hand.
• Always walk and never run to avoid losing balance.
Always take care over obstacles.
Always put the chain saw into the safety position
when moving around.
• Pay attention to materials projected by the action
of the chain. This occurs above all when the chain
comes into contact with foreign bodies (nails, stones,
etc.). Never operate the chain saw with bystanders in
the work area.
• Take care not to knock hard against foreign bodies;
this could damage the cutting parts: if this occurs,
switch off the saw and check for damage.
• Pay attention to any abnormal noise or vibrations.
If this occurs, switch off the saw and look for the
cause.
Felling and removing branches
Operations to fell and remove branches must be
performed by skilled personnel, trained to use the
chain saw in these difficult operations.
• Before starting felling operations for the first time,
practice cutting trunks placed on trestles, in a stable
and safe position. This will allow you to become
familiar with use of the saw.
Before commencing felling operations also check:
• that there are no bystanders in the work area (with the
exception of any others involved in the felling opera-
tion);
• that the work area is free from obstacles that could
endanger the operator and any collaborators;
• escape routes free from obstacles have been
established;
• the natural direction in which the tree is leaning and
consequently the area covered by the “falling” tree.
• that there are no strong winds; in this case postpone
felling operations.
In any case, do not work alone or in a remote spot as, in
the event of an accident, your calls for help might not be
heard by collaborators.
• Free the base of the trunk to be felled from any scrub,
branches or stones, as these could create dangerous
situations and damage the cutting parts of the chain
saw.
• Make a first undercut on the trunk on the side on which
the tree has been planned to fall. This facilitates and
partly guides the tree during felling. Then cut right
through the trunk, starting from the opposite side of
the tree.
When the tree is falling take care over springback of the
trunk or any splinters caused by the trunk breaking.
• When operating on felled trunks, if working on sloping
ground always stand above the tree to avoid danger
caused by movement of trunks.
Pay particular attention to the position of felled trees,
especially on uneven ground. Assess possible inner ten-
sions of the timber. Avoid getting the blade wedged in the
wood. Be alert for springback.
Removing branches
Beware of kickback. The chain saw can suddenly
kick back towards the operator. Avoid this dangerous
situation:
• do not cut using the tip.
• do not lodge the tip of the bar in the wood – only cut
one branch at a time – only cut with the chain saw
running at maximum speed
• remove any branches or foreign bodies from the
cutting area
• hold the saw firmly with both hands.
• stand in a stable position
• use chains with reduced tendency to kick back.
