amera Precautions
Please note the following when using the camera:
Do not place the camera in a damp or dusty location. This may cause fire or
electric shock.
Do not leave the camera in places subject to extremely high temperatures, such as
in direct sunlight. This may affect the camera case and internal components.
Try to avoid bumping or hitting the camera while it is being activated. This may cause
the camera to malfunction.
Choose a flat, still surface to set the camera on.
When the lens or the viewfinder is dirty, please clean them with a lens brush or soft
cloth.
Under the following circumstances, have the camera repaired by qualified personnel.
The cable or plug is damaged or worn.
The device has been dropped and/or the casing has been damaged.
Liquid has entered the camera.

Before installing any software on your computer it is very important that you disable
your anti-virus program. Anti-virus programs have the ability to corrupt files before
they are finished being created, rendering them in operable.
To disable your anti-virus program, locate and right-click on the anti-virus icon in the
lower, right-hand corner of your screen (near the time display) and disable the
program. Disabling your anti-virus program in this manner is temporary, and your
anti-virus program will reactivate when you reboot your computer.

Battery Installation
1. Open the BATTERY DOOR--Fig. 3.
2. Insert three AAA alkaline batteries
into the battery compartment with
the polarity in the direction
shown--Fig. 4.
Please Note the Following:
When the batteries are low, you will
see the indication on STATUS LCD
continuously blinking.
Always download photos to a
computer prior to replacing the
batteries to avoid memory loss.
Do not use both old and new batteries
together. Replace all the batteries at
the same time.
It is recommended that you remove the
batteries if the camera is not going to
be used for some time. This will save
the battery life.

Power the Camera On/Off
Power On
Method 1
Press the POWER button
until the STATUS LCD lights up--Fig. 5
Method 2
Plug the USB cable into the computer,
and press the POWER button. The
camera will be powered on by USB
power source--Fig. 6.

Method 1
The camera will automatically power
off after 20 seconds of inactivity.
Method 2
Press the mode button until the
STATUS LCD appears as in Fig. 7.
Then press the SHUTTER RELEASE
BUTTON to turn off the camera.
Note: If the camera is connected to the
computer, you will have to unplug the
USB cable to turn the camera off.

Taking Photos
Once the camera is turned on “Hi” will appear and the frame number “26”
will immediately appear afterwards on the STATUS LCD--Fig. 8. If there are
images already saved in the camera, the frame number will indicate how
many shots are still available on the camera.
1. Look through the VIEWFINDER to frame the subject of the photo.
2. Press the SHUTTER RELEASE BUTTON to take a photo.
3. The frame number shown on the STATUS LCD indicates how many shots are still
available before the memory is full. The camera will automatically perform a
countdown after each shot is taken, shown on the STATUS LCD.
4. When a photograph is taken, you will hear a single, short “beep”. After the
“beep”, the camera will be ready to take another photo.
Please Note the Following When Taking Photos:
If the environment is too dark to achieve acceptable image quality, the camera’s self
detection device will prevent you from taking photos.
Whenever you hear two “beeps”, it means that either the memory is full or that the
light is not bright enough. No photos can be taken in either situation.

Camera Mode Selections
By pressing the MODE BUTTON you can cycle through different shooting modes
that are displayed on the STATUS LCD. When a given mode is displayed, it can be
selected by pressing the SHUTTER RELEASE BUTTON.
The different mode options that appear on the STATUS LCD are shown below in Fig.
9.
OF: Power off
St: Self timer in 10 seconds
d8: Capture pictures in video mode
CA: Delete all photos in the memory
CL: Delete the last picture
Hi: High resolution (640 X 480 pixels)
Lo: Low resolution (320 X 240 pixels)
50: Lighting AC power frequency 50Hz
60: Lighting AC power frequency 60Hz
Hd: Enable compression
Ld: Disable compression
