Preparing the Site
Before installing the device, ensure that the site meets the following requirements:
If you use a DC cabinet, ensure that the outputs of the DC power distribution box fall within the range of –72 V DC to –38 V
DC. Two different power sources are required for redundancy.
If you use an AC cabinet, ensure that the outputs of the AC power distribution box fall within the range of 90 V AC to 264 V AC.
Two different power sources are required for redundancy.
Airflow clearance: The spacing between the air intake of the cabinet and neighboring objects must exceed 75 mm. If the air
intake of the cabinet is next to another communication device, the spacing must exceed 150 mm.
Maintenance clearance: The spacing between the rear of the cabinet and neighboring objects must exceed 350 mm for
maintenance.
Aisles in the equipment room ≥ 1000 mm; aisles between cabinet rows ≥1000 mm
Spacing between cabinet sides and wall ≥800 mm
Spacing between cabinet row and wall ≥ 1000 mm

Cabinet size: The height of the NIP6830 is 4 U (1 U = 44.45 mm) for DC cabinet and 5 U for AC cabinet.
Airflow clearance: Maintain a minimum spacing of 2 U between devices installed in the same cabinet, between the top-most
device and the cabinet top, and between the bottom-most device and the cabinet bottom. abinet bottom.

You are advised to wind excess optical fibers around fiber spools for convenient cable routing and device maintenance.
Determine the locations of the fiber spools based on the device arrangement in the cabinet. The fiber spools cannot be too
close to device operation area to avoid hampering board insertion or removal or cabling, and the fiber spools cannot be too
far away from the device to facilitate fiber spool operation.

Cables of the power modules must be tied separately to facilitate the removal of individual modules.
Ensure that the power cables do not block the air filter and that the cables of one power module do not block the access
to the cables of the other module.
After you connect power cables, install the plastic cover of the junction boxes.
