LESLIE SWITCH Owner’s Manual
Attaching the CU-1 to the keyboard
ank you and congratulations on your purchase of the Ham-
mond CU-1 Leslie switch. e lever switch on the “Half-
Moon” shaped CU-1 unit is used to control the Leslie eects
just like on the original B-3. Please read the installations in-
structions carefully before you install the CU-1.

Setting up to allow the CU-1
For your safety, please operate your Hammond prod-
uct on a level, stable surface.
Line up the screws attached to the CU-1 unit with the pair of chosen
holes located on the bottom side of the front rail and securely tighten
these screws.
NOTE: Do not place the keyboard with the CU-1 unit attached onto a at
desk type surface. Since the CU-1 extends past the bottom of the
keyboard, the CU-1 unit and front rail of the keyboard could be
seriously damaged.
NOTE: Before placing your XK-3/3C into an ATA keyboard type case, make
sure you remove the CU-1 unit rst.
2. Connecting to the equipment
#920, A-162, A-405, SK2, XK-1C, XK-3, XK-3C, XLK-3
Insert the plug on the CU-1 into the equipment labeled “Foot Switch”
jack.
XK-5, XLK-5
Insert the plug on the CU-1 into the equipment labeled “CU-1” jack.
For other compatible model, see owner’s manual of your instrument
which attach the CU-1 for detail.

Turn on the equipment, touch the [MENU], [4]Control and choice
the “FOOT SW” page using [PAGE] buttons.
Select “CU-1” using [VALUE] buttons.
SK2, XK-1C
Turn on the equipment, touch the [MENU], [][][]Control and
choice the “FOOT SW” page using [] []buttons.
Select “CU-1” using [VALUE] knob.
XK-5, XLK-5
No operation required.

how to set up the CU-1.
Playing with your CU-1 Switch
#920, A-162, A-405, XK-3, XK-3C
CHORALE: e Leslie eect is “On”, rotation mode is “Slow.”
TREMOLO: e Leslie eect is “On”, rotation mode is “Fast.”
STOP: 1) e rotation stops, the Leslie eect is still “ON”, if the
[BRAKE] button is “On” (XK-3/3C) or O Mode is at “Brake”
(#920, A-162, A-405).
2) e Leslie eect is “O ”, rotation continues, if the [BRAKE]
button is “O ” (XK-3/3C) or O Mode is at “rough” (#920,
A-162, A-405).
It takes a moment for the equipment detecting STOP position,
to make the switching between CHORALE and TREMOLO
smoothly.
SK2, XK-1C, XK-5
CHORALE: e rotation mode is “Slow.”
TREMOLO: e rotation mode is “Fast.”
STOP: e rotation stops. It takes a moment for the equipment de-
tecting the STOP position, to make the switching between
CHORALE and TREMOLO smoothly.
It switches only the rotation. To switch “On” or “Bypass” the
Leslie eect (switch Rotary or Stationary channel), press the
[BYPASS] button.
NOTE: On newer Hammond products, the speeds of the Leslie can also
be selected by means of a kick switch on the expression pedal or a
switch button on the product itself. Thus the selected speed on the
CU-1 unit may occasionally not match the action speed (slow-fast-
o) of the Leslie. If this occurs, simply move the lever switch on the
CU-1 to the adjacent position and the actual rotor speed will then
match the CU-1 selection.

1. Attaching the CU-1 unit.
SK2, XK-1C, XK-3, XK-3C (Thin bottom of the Keyboard)
Remove the protective paper from the adhesive tape on the thick spac-
er, and attach the spacer to the CU-1 unit as shown above.
XLK-3, XLK-5 (Middle bottom of the Keyboard)
Remove the protective paper from the adhesive tape on the thin spac-
er, and attach the spacer to the CU-1 unit as shown above.
#920, A-162, A-405, XK-5 (Deep bottom of the Keyboard)
No spacer is needed for mounting the CU-1 Unit.

機器への取り付けかた
お買い求めいただきまして誠にありがとうございます。CU-1 は
レスリー効果の切り替えをオリジナル B-3 と同じレバー操作で
行うための「ハーフムーン」シェイプのレスリースイッチです。
B-3の演奏テクニックを他機種でも可能にします。ご使用の前
に、この取扱説明書を必ずお読みください。

本機を使えるよう設定する
安全のため、かならず安定した場所で作業を行ってく
ださい。
各機種共通
本機を取り付け位置に当て、つまみネジをしっかりと締めます。
NOTE:本機の取り付け後は伴盤の底面に対して出っ張るため、楽器を直接机などの
上に置くことはできません。机を傷つけたり、本体が破損する恐れがあります。
NOTE:XK-3/3C を専用ハードケース HC-300へ収納される場合は、本機が干渉
するため必ず本機を取り外してください。
2. 機器への接続
A-405,SK2,XK-1C,XK-3,XK-3C,XLK-3
本機を機器の「FOOTSWITCH」ジャックへ接続します。
XK-5,XLK-5
本機を機器の「CU-1」ジャックへ接続します。
その他の対応機種で本機をお使いになる場合は、お手持ちの楽器の取
扱説明書をご覧ください。
A-405,XK-3,XK-3C,XLK-3
機器の電源を入れ、[MENU] → [4]CONTROLと操作し、[PAGE] ボ
タンで「FOOTSW」ページを選びます。
[VALUE] ボタンで「CU-1」を選びます。
SK2,XK-1C
機器の電源を入れ、[MENU] → [][][]CONTROL → [ENTER]
と操作し、[PAGE] ボタンで「FOOTSW」ページを選びます。
[VALUE] つまみで「CU-1」を選びます。
XK-5,XLK-5
特別な設定は不要です。
その他の対応機種で本機をご使用の場合は、お手持ちの楽器の取扱説
明書を参照して設定を行ってください。

HORALE レスリーオン、スロー状態になります。
T
REMOLO レスリーオン、 ファースト状 態 になります。

TOP レスリーオフ状態になります。スロー←→ファースト状態
の移行をスムーズに行うため、この位置にしてから実際
にレスリーオフになるには約１秒かかります。
また、この「オフ状態」で停止したローターのサウンド
を得るか、レスリー効果をバイパスするかは、XK-3/3C
で は [BRAKE] ボ タ ン で、A-405 で は LESLIEOFF
MODE で選びます。

HORALE ローターはスロー状態になります。

TOP ローターはストップ状態になります。スロー←→ファース
ト状態の移行をスムーズに行うため、この位置にしてか

本機の操作ではローターのモードのみが切り替わります。
レスリー効果を得るかどうか（ロータリー／ステーショナ
リーチャンネルの切り替え）は、[BYPASS] ボタンで選
びます。
NOTE:レスリー効果は本機の操作以外にも様々な方法で状態を変化させられるた
め、実際の状態と本機のレバー位置とが異なってしまうことがあります。この
ような場合には、本機のレバーを一旦現在とは異なる位置に動かしてくださ
い。レバー位置と状態が一致します。
1. 本機の取り付け
図を参考に取り付けを行ってください。
SK2,XK-1C,XK-3,XK-3C 等、伴盤底が薄い機種
スペーサー（厚）の両面テープに付いている保護紙をはがし、本体と接
着します。
XLK-3,XLK-5 等、伴盤底の深さが中くらいの機種
スペーサー（薄）の両面テープに付いている保護紙をはがし、本体と接
着します。
A-405,XK-5 等、伴盤底が深い機種
スペーサーは使用しません。
