1 IMPORTANT SAFETY
INSTRUCTIONS
For the proper use, maintenance and storage of this battery, it
is crucially important that you read and understand the
instructions given in this manual.
To avoid serious injury, risk of fire, explosion and danger of
electric shock or electrocution:
• If the battery pack case is cracked or damaged, DO NOT
insert into the charger. Replace with a new battery pack.
• Charge the battery pack only with the recommended
charger.
• DO NOT try to short circuit any terminals of battery
pack.
WARNING
If the battery fluid gets in your eyes, flush immediately with
clean water for at least 15 minutes. Get immediate medical
attention. Do not charge the battery pack in rain or in wet
conditions. Do not immerse the tool, battery pack, or
charger in water or other liquid.
• Do not allow the battery pack or charger to overheat. If
they are warm, allow them to cool down. Recharge only
at room temperature.
• Do not place the battery pack in the sun or in a warm
environment. Keep at normal room temperature.
• Keep in shady, cool and dry condition, if the battery is not
charged for a long time; charge the battery for 2 hours
every 2 months.
• The battery pack cells may develop a small leak under
extreme usage or temperature conditions. If the outer seal
is broken and the leakage gets on your skin:
- Use soap and water to wash immediately.
- Neutralize with lemon juice, vinegar, or other mild
acid.
• If leakage gets in your eyes, follow instructions above
and seek medical attention.
• Please check prior use, if output voltage and current of
the battery charger is suitable for the charging battery
pack.
• During transporting, the battery pack needs protective
packaging.
• Handle with care.
• Keep away from humidity and fire.
2 SAFETY NOTES AND
PRECAUTIONS
• Do not disassemble the battery.
• Keep away from the children.
• Do not expose the battery to water or salt water, battery
should be stored in a cool and dry location and should
place the battery in cool and dry environment.
• Do not place the battery in high-temperature locations,
such as near a fire, heater, etc.
• Do not reverse the positive terminal and the negative
terminal of the battery.
• Do not connect the positive terminal and the negative
terminal of the battery to each other with any metal
objects.
• Do not knock, strike or step on the battery.
• Do not solder directly onto the battery and pierce the
battery with nails or other edge tools.
• In the event that the battery leaks and the fluid gets into
one’s eye, do not rub the eye. Rinse well with water.
• Immediately discontinue use of the battery, if, while using
the battery emits an unusual smell, feels hot, changes
color, changes shape, or appears abnormal in any other
way.
3 ENVIRONMENTALLY SAFE
BATTERY DISPOSAL
WARNING
If the battery pack cracks or breaks, with or without leaks,
do not recharge it and do not use. Dispose of the battery and
replace with a new battery pack. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
REPAIR IT! To avoid injury and risk of fire, explosion, or
electric shock, and to avoid damage to the environment:
• Cover the battery’s terminals with heavy-duty adhesive
tape.
• DO NOT attempt to remove or destroy any of the
battery pack components.
• DO NOT attempt to open the battery pack.
• If a leak develops, the released electrolytes are
corrosive and toxic. DO NOT get the solution in the
eyes or on skin, and do not swallow it.
• DO NOT place these batteries in your regular
household trash.
• DO NOT incinerate.
• DO NOT place them where they will become part of
any waste landfill or municipal solid waste stream.
• Take them to a certified recycling or disposal centre.

4 PROPOSITION 65
WARNING
This product contains a chemical known to the state of
California to cause cancer, birth defects or other
reproductive harm. Some dust created by power sanding,
sawing, grinding, drilling, and other construction activities
contains chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or
other reproductive harm. Some examples of these chemicals
are:
• Lead from lead-based paints;
• Crystalline silica from bricks and cement and other
masonry products;
• Arsenic and chromium from chemically treated lumber.
Your risk of exposure to these chemicals varies depending
on how often you do this type of work. To reduce your
exposure to these chemicals, work in a well-ventilated area,
and work with approved safety equipment, such as dust
masks that are specially designed to filter out microscopic
particles.
5 OPERATION
5.1 CHECK BATTERY CAPACITY
Press the battery capacity indicator (BCI) button. The lights
will illuminate according to the batteries capacity level. See
chart below:

4 Green Lights The battery is at 80-100%capacity.
3 Green Lights The battery is at 65-80% capacity.
2 Green Lights The battery is at 45-65% capacity.
1 Green Light The battery is at 20-45% capacity.
1 Blinking Green
Light
The battery is at 10-20% capacity.
Lights go out The battery is under 10% capacity and
requires charging immediately

BATTERY PROTECTION FEATURES
This lithium-ion battery packs are designed with features that
protect the lithium-ion cells and maximize battery life.
If the tool stops during use, release the trigger to reset and
resume operation. If the tool still does not work, the battery
needs to be recharged.
COLD WEATHER OPERATION
The lithium-ion battery pack can be used in temperatures
down to -14°C (6.8°F). Put the battery pack on a tool and use
the tool in a light duty application. After about a minute, the
pack will warm up and begin operating normally.

7 LIMITED WARRANTY
Greenworks hereby warranties this product, to the original
purchaser with proof of purchase, 2 year commercial battery
warranty against defects in materials, parts or workmanship.
Greenworks, at its own discretion will repair or replace any
and all parts found to be defective, through normal use, free
of charge to the customer. This warranty is valid only for
units which have been used for personal use that have not
been hired or rented for industrial/commercial use, and that
have been maintained in accordance with the instructions in
the owners’ manual supplied with the product from new.
2 YEAR LIMITED BATTERY WARRANTY
COVERAGE:
– Greenworks Commercial Battery Packs (GL 250, GL 400,
GL 500, GL 900, GLW300, GLW600, GL400BT, 48B4AH)
– 2 year from the date of purchase (non transferable)
WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS, LIMITATIONS AND
RIGHTS:
1. All warranties may not be transferred by the consumer to
any subsequent purchaser.
2. Parts or components not supplied by the warrantor, or
parts or components that have been modified.
3. Any failure resulting from the use of improper tools or
improper repair procedures.
4. Any failure resulting from the use of improper tools or

5. Any failure or part that has become inoperative due to
accident, impact, abuse, misuse, neglect, mishandling,
dulling of cutting edges, or failure to operate the product

accordance with the owner's manual.

have been exposed to temperatures beyond those
specified in the product’s instruction manual, batteries

reached their useful life.

1 INSTRUCTIONS DE SÉCURITÉ
IMPORTANTES
Pour l'utilisation adéquate, l'entretien et le rangement de cette
batterie, il est d'une importance capitale de lire et de
comprendre les instructions de ce manuel.
Pour éviter de graves blessures, le risque d'incendie,
d'explosion et le danger d'électrocution :
• Si la batterie est fissurée ou endommagée, NE l'insérez
PAS dans le chargeur. Remplacez-la par une nouvelle
batterie.
• Chargez la batterie uniquement avec le chargeur
recommandé.
• Ne tentez pas de court-circuiter les pôles de la batterie.
AVERTISSEMENT
Si vous recevez le liquide de la batterie dans les yeux,
rincez immédiatement à l'eau claire durant au moins 15
minutes. Appelez immédiatement un médecin. Ne chargez
pas la batterie sous la pluie ou dans des endroits humides.
Ne plongez pas l'outil, la batterie ou le chargeur dans l'eau
ou tout autre liquide.
• Ne laissez pas la batterie ou le chargeur s'échauffer. S'ils
sont chauds, laissez-les refroidir. Rechargez uniquement à
température ambiante.
• Ne laissez pas la batterie au soleil ou dans un
environnement chaud. Maintenez à température ambiante.
• Maintenez dans un endroit ombragé, frais et sec, si la
batterie n'a pas été chargée depuis longtemps, chargez-la
pendant 2 heures tous les 2 mois.
• La batterie peut présenter une légère fuite en cas
d'utilisation ou de température extrêmes. Si le joint
externe est endommagé et que le liquide entre en contact
avec votre peau :
- Utilisez du savon et de l'eau pour vous laver
immédiatement.
- Nettoyez avec du jus de citron, du vinaigre ou un
autre acide doux.
• Si le liquide atteint vos yeux, suivez les instructions ci-
dessous et appelez un médecin.
• Veuillez vérifier avant utilisation si la tension de sortie et
le courant du chargeur de la batterie est compatible avec
le chargeur de la batterie.
• Durant le transport, la batterie doit être emballée et
protégée.
• Maniez avec précaution.
• Maintenez éloigné de l'humidité et du feu.
2 NOTES DE SÉCURITÉ ET
PRÉCAUTIONS
• Ne démontez pas la batterie.
• Maintenez hors de portée des enfants.
• N'exposez pas la batterie à l'eau ou l'eau salée, la batterie
doit être rangée dans un endroit frais et sec et utilisée
dans un endroit frais et sec.
• Ne laissez pas la batterie dans des endroits aux
températures élevées, tels que près d'un feu, d'un
chauffage, etc.
• N'inversez pas le pôle positif et le pôle négatif de la
batterie.

• Si la batterie fuit et que du liquide atteint vos yeux, ne
vous frottez pas les yeux. Rincez à l'eau claire.
• Arrêtez immédiatement l'utilisation de la batterie, si,
lorsque vous l'utilisez de celle-ci émane une odeur
inhabituelle, si elle est chaude, si elle change de couleur,
de forme, ou semble anormale d'une toute autre façon.
3 ÉLIMINATION DES
BATTERIES SANS DANGER
POUR L'ENVIRONNEMENT
AVERTISSEMENT
Si la batterie se fend ou se brise, avec ou sans fuites, ne la
rechargez pas et ne l'utilisez pas. Jetez-la et remplacez-la
par une nouvelle batterie. N'ESSAYEZ PAS DE LA
RÉPARER ! Pour prévenir les blessures et les risques
d'incendie, d'explosion ou de choc électrique, et pour éviter
tout dommage à l'environnement :
• Recouvrez les pôles de la batterie avec du ruban adhésif
épais.
• N'essayez PAS d'enlever ou de détruire les composants
de la batterie.
• N'essayez PAS d'ouvrir ou de réparer la batterie.
• En cas de fuite, les électrolytes rejetés sont corrosifs et
toxiques. NE PAS laisser entrer la solution dans les
yeux ou en contact avec la peau et ne pas l'avaler.
• NE jetez PAS vos batteries usagées dans votre poubelle
à ordures ménagères.
• NE PAS incinérer.
• NE LES mettez PAS dans un endroit où ils feront partie
d'un site d'enfouissement de déchets ou d'un flux de
déchets solides municipaux.
• Emmenez-les dans un centre de recyclage ou
d'élimination certifié.

4 PROPOSITION 65
AVERTISSEMENT
Ce produit contient un produit chimique connu dans l'état

Votre risque d'exposition à ces produits chimiques varie

5 UTILISATION
5.1 VÉRIFIEZ LA CAPACITÉ DE LA
BATTERIE
Appuyez sur le bouton indicateur de capacité de la batterie
(BCI). Les lumières s'allumeront en fonction du niveau de la
batterie. Voir le graphique ci-dessous :

ÉLÉMENTS DE PROTECTION DE BATTERIE
Cette batterie en lithium est conçue avec des composants qui
protègent les cellules en lithium et optimisent la durée de vie
de la batterie.
Si l'outil s'arrête en cours d'utilisation, relâchez la gâchette
pour réinitialiser et redémarrer. Si l'outil ne fonctionne pas, il
faut recharger la batterie.
UTILISATION PAR TEMPS FROID
La batterie en lithium peut être utilisée jusqu'à une
température de -14°C (6,8°F). Mettez la batterie sur l'outil et

lubrification, un mauvais stockage, la saleté, les abrasifs,
les chocs, l'humidité, l'eau, la pluie, la neige, la rouille, la
corrosion, le vernis ou autres conditions similaires.
7. L'appareil, s'il n'a pas été utilisé et/ou entretenu
conformément au manuel du propriétaire.
8. Tension inappropriée pour les produits électriques et les
batteries qui ont été exposés à des températures
supérieures à celles spécifiées dans le manuel
d'instructions du produit, les batteries qui n'ont pas été
correctement chargées ou les batteries qui ont atteint leur
durée de vie utile.
