1. Operation and use
1.1. Boiler characteristics
Buer tanks are used as batteries, which store the heat energy prepared by solid fuel boiler, which is then transmitted in a continuous mode to the heating
system of a central heating and warm usable water.
Buer tanks are not enamelled, thus they are suitable for storage of neutral medium only (e.g., demineralized boiler water, glycol, etc.). The maximum
allowable operating pressure is 3 bar (0,3 MPa) for buer tanks and 6 bar (0,6 MPa) for spiral coils.
Buer tanks complement the following: systems equipped with a heat pump; solar systems; CH boilers.
Buers can be supplied without thermal insulation or with high quality insulation made of hard polyurethane foam, which reduces heat loss to a minimum.
The tank may have a permanent insulation of hard polyurethane foam or detachable insulation made of soft polyurethane foam.
1.2. Construction description
The main part of the buer is the tank in which the heating medium is heated. It is made out of a steel sheet and painted with undercoat from the outside.
The buers have nine 6/4” (internally threaded) hydraulic connections, which makes it possible to connect them in various variants. Three ½" (internally
threaded) connections for the sensor covers are also included, as well as a 1" or 5/4”for type 3000 only (internally threaded) water drain connection at the
bottom of the tank.
1.3. Remember
1. Installation of the buer tank should be started by reading the installation and operation manual provided with the device. The manual should always
be in the place of use of the buer tank, as it is often required for inspection by the service.
2. Do not operate the buer tank without a properly functioning safety valve (applies to closed system).
3. The company is not responsible for safety valve malfunction caused by incorrect installation of the valve and installation errors.
4. Defects discovered during the warranty period should be reported to the manufacturer's service.
5. Vent the heating circuit before the start of the heating season.
6. Periodically check the lling level of the heating system.
7. If the buer tank is installed in a closed system, an expansion vessel must be installed. If the vessel is already installed, its capacity should be increased
accordingly.
8. It is not allowed to prevent water from dripping from the safety valve – do not clog the safety valve outlet. If the safety valve is leaking water all
the time, the pressure in the water supply installation is too high or the safety valve is defective. The valve outlet should be pointing down. It is
recommended to place a funnel for draining water under the valve. A hose can also be attached to the water outlet for draining leaks caused by opening
of the safety valve. The hose should be resistant to a temperature of +80°C, have an internal diameter of 9 mm and a maximum length of 1.2 m, be
led from the outlet with a downward grade (min. 3%) in an environment where the temperature does not drop below 0°C.The hose should be secured
against reduction in ow capacity (crushing, clogging) and its end should be visible (in order to check the functioning of the valve).
9. Galmet Sp. z o.o. Sp. K. reserves the right to make any modications and technical changes.
10. The tank has an outer casing made of articial leather (skay, PVC foil), while the thermal insulation is made of polyurethane or polystyrene foam. It is
not allowed to manipulate open re directly next to the tank, as it may damage the outer casing as well as the thermal insulation
11. All maintenance and installation works must be performed in accordance with applicable health and safety regulations.

2. General operating rules
2. General operating rules
2.1. Installation
- Buer tank should be installed in a dry room. The tank cannot be installed in rooms where the ambient temperature may fall below 0°C.
- The tank should be connected by a qualied installer. Conrmation of installation in the warranty card is required.
- Due to the design of the tank, it should only be installed in an upright position.
- Buer tanks are recommended to be installed close to the main heat source in order to avoid unnecessary heat loss.
- Buer tanks can be connected to open and closed systems. The heating system pressure (closed system) must not exceed the maximum operating pressure
of the tank (0,3 MPa).
- Buer tanks used in an open installation should be connected to an open vessel protected in accordance with PN-B02413.
- Buer tanks used in closed systems should be protected by a properly selected safety valve with a pressure not higher than the maximum operating
pressure of the tank (0,3 MPa). The installation should be additionally equipped with an expansion vessel of appropriate capacity.
2.2. Start-up
After connecting the entire central heating system you should:
1. Fill the heating system with a heating factor.
2. Check the hydraulic connections for any leaks.
3. Insulate the pipelines and tank connections.
4. Bleed the installation.
After completing all the steps, the central heating installation is ready to work. The rst heating of the buer tank should be carried out in the presence of
the installer in order to correctly check the operation of the whole installation.
Before bleeding the buer tank, make sure that the heating device is switched o and the heating system is not hot.
Before the rst start-up or after a long break in operation, check whether the entire installation is lled with the heating medium.
2.3. Turning o the boiler
In the event of interruption in use and the risk of freezing of the heating medium in the tank, the tank and the entire heating system associated with it
should be emptied.
Caution!
- It is prohibited to start the heating circuit if the buer tank is not lled with heating medium.
- The buer tank must not be used if a malfunction of the safety valve is found.
- It is forbidden to install devices (e.g. shut-o valve, non-return valve, etc. between the tank and the safety valve, or an open expansion vessel (a tee is
the only exception).
- It is forbidden to make any unauthorized repairs to the tank.
- It is not allowed to prevent the water leakage from the safety valve.
