Fuller LPG Counter Urns
Technical Manual
General Information
This appliance is for boiling water only and is suitable for use in mobile catering vans and trailer.
This appliance is only for professional use and shall be used by ualified people
This appliance is a manual lit LPG fuelled water boiler. It is fitted with a flame failure valve that automatically cuts the flow of gas if the flame
is extinguished.
To maintain peak performance it is recommended that the appliance be regularly serviced.
Safety
All work carried out on this appliance during installation or servicing must be performed by a ualified installer and the connection to the gas
supply must be carried out by ualified installer in accordance with the relevant regulations.
Parts which have been protected by the manufacturer shall not be adjusted by the user.
The siting of the appliance and connection to the gas supply must comply with the Gas Safety Regulation 1995; the re uirements of the Fire
Precaution Act 1971; the Health and Safety at Work, etc. Act 1974. Detailed recommendations are contained in BS5440 pt.1:2000;
BS6173:2001 and BS6891:1998.
All LPG e uipment consumes oxygen and emits carbon monoxide and should therefore only be used in well ventilated areas.
All connections should be checked for gas soundness. If in any doubt, turn off gas supply immediately.
The body gets very hot in use. Care should be taken not to touch any part of the body, especially near the combustion outlets. Also care should
be taken to keep combustible items (i.e. tea towels) away from combustion outlets.
This appliance is only for professional use and should only be used by ualified people.
Care should be taken when dispensing hot water. To avoid chance of scalding, the cup or teapot should not be held when filling.
Use fresh water each day.
DO NOT ALLOW TO RUN DRY
For installation in Ireland please refer to the re uirements of I.S. 820:2000 including Amd 1: 2003 for the re uirements for natural or LPG
installations at pressures not exceeding 5 bar, from the point of delivery of the gas up to and including the appliance in non-domestic premises.
Installation
Please refer to the installation regulations in force in the country in which the appliance is installed.
This appliance should be located in a well ventilated area to prevent the occurrence of unacceptable concentrations of substances harmful to
health. It should be located out of reach of customers and also away from accidental contact by staff.
It should be placed on a fire resistant surface. We recommend 1.5mm stainless steel as a base.
There should be a gap of 125mm to any wall. These walls should also be fire resistant.
It is recommended that there is a gap above the urn of at least 600mm.
The feet should be fixed to the worktop by means of 4mm bolts or pop-rivets. Stability of urn should be checked before use each time.
The appliance is ready to connect to the gas supply by means of a compression fitting (supplied separately to prevent damage in transit).
On unpacking it should be checked that the thermocouple is not touching any parts of the interior between the valve and the probe.
It is suggested that the urn should be connected to the water supply via a hole in the side of the body. The lid should not be lifted for filling
whilst the urn is in use.
The installation must comply with Local Authority Regulations.
An easily accessible gas cock must be fitted in the gas supply adjacent to the appliance for use in an emergency.
At this stage, leak test the whole system. The Gas Safety Regulation re uires that all connections in the gas supply line between the gas supply
and appliance be tested for leaks by means of a drop test and any joints be tested using a leak detection fluid. This must be done before
commencing to commission the appliance.
The parts protected by the manufacturer or his agent shall not be adjusted by the installer
We recommend 47Kg cylinders.

Use
Standard - F44 & F20 (without pilot)
After installation, fill the boiler with water and open the cylinder valve.
Turn the knob anti-clockwise to the star symbol and push in whilst holding a lit taper over the burner (through the lighting hole at front). After
ignition wait 3-4 seconds before releasing the knob. The boiler will then be on the high setting.
To simmer, turn the knob further anticlockwise to the small flame symbol.
When turning off the boiler, set on high (large flame) and close the valve on the cylinder. This ensures that all the gas in the pipe is burnt.
Then return knob to vertical position.
Piezo version – F44/P & F20/P (with pilot)
After installation, fill the boiler with water and open the cylinder valve.
Push in the knob and turn anti-clockwise to the star symbol. The spark will light the pilot light. Hold the knob in for a few seconds.
If it does not light then it is probably due to air in the pipe. Retry until successful.
Turn the knob further anticlockwise to the simmer setting (small flame) or full on (large flame).
When turning off the boiler, set on high (large flame) and close the valve on the cylinder. This ensures that all the gas in the pipe is burnt.
Then return knob to vertical position.
If the piezo fails then the appliance can be lit by using a taper. Push in the knob and turn anti-clockwise to the star symbol. Light the pilot with
the taper and hold in the knob for a few seconds.
In the event of a suspected gas leak immediately turn off the gas supply. Do not search for a leak with a match or naked flame. Consult
a gas safe registered engineer.
The flame should be burning mostly blue. If it is mostly yellow or orange then service. If there are sooty deposits then stop using
immediately and consult a gas safe engineer.
Maintenance
When not in use the boiler should be emptied of water and the non-drip tap left open. In hard water areas the boiler will have a build up of scale
which should be treated regularly with scale remover. If water drips from the tap when closed the top can be unscrewed (when urn is off and
empty) and the rubber washer inside, cleaned.
Spare parts available include water tap, gas valve and thermocouple.
Servicing Manual
We recommend that the appliance is serviced at least once a year, by a ualified engineer.
To remove the burner assembly for servicing firstly make sure the boiler is isolated from the gas supply and the water is drained.
Remove the black knob by pulling away from the body and undo the locking nut to free the flame failure valve.
Then undo the two screws where the gas pipe enters the body.
Turn the boiler upside down and unscrew the 4 bolts connecting the assembly to the body.
To replace the burner unit follow the above in reverse.
F20 & F44 – Replacing thermocouple
Unscrew the locking nut at the thermocouple end and break the connection to the valve.
When replacing thermocouple, care should be taken with positioning.
The tip of the thermocouple should end over the middle of the burner bar.
Do not over tighten the connection to the valve.
If in any doubt please contact the manufacturer.
F20/P & F44/P – Replacing thermocouple and electrode
Unscrew the two screws to release the locking plate.
Electrode can then be replaced (please note the alignment and replace the same)
To replace the thermocouple, break connection to the valve and replace with new one.
Do not over tighten the connection to the valve.
Replace locking plate and secure with two screws.
If in any doubt please contact the manufacturer.
Replacing Flame Failure Device
Break connections and replace with correct valve.
Please test all joints for leaks.
Replacement water taps, gas valves and sight glasses are also available from the manufacturer
