1. Foreword
Thank you for purchasing this new Ice Cold Merchandiser (ICM) from Frigoglass.
Before using this unit please read the instructions below carefully. A well-maintained
Frigoglass ICM will help you increase your sales and profits.
This ICM has been designed for beverages.
2. Technical description
2.1 General
The merchandiser must be connected to a grounded mains outlet with a minimum
fuse rating of 10A. The outlet must be easily accessible for the purposes of installation
and servicing. During installation, other authorities may impose additional
requirements in respect of lighting, alarm equipment and similar.
2.2 Climate classification
According to climate specifications, this ICM is tested for ‘C’ condition, namely
ambient temperature of 90°F and 65% humidity.
Limited outdoor use is allowed only under suitable roof / shade. Not to be placed
under direct sunlight.
The floor must be flat, not inclined, for stability reasons.

Do not place cream spray bottles inside the cooler.

3. Installation
After unpacking, check the cabinet for any damage caused during transportation. In
the event of damage, please contact the forwarding company.
Allow the merchandiser to stand upright for at least 1 hour prior to connection to the
mains supply. This gives the oil time to run back to the compressor after transit and
installation.
This appliance is not intended for use by young children or
handicapped or infirm persons unless they are adequately
supervised by a responsible person who will ensure the safe
operation of the appliance on their part. Young children
should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the
appliance.
3.1 Installation instructions
Improper leveling might result in cabin deformation affecting
cooler performance.
a. Always ensure that your merchandiser is installed on level floor / counter. There
are 4 adjustable feet at the front and back under the chassis. Please adjust until
the ICM levels. Check using a spirit, if available.

The unit should not be placed near any kind of heat source.
The unit should not be placed under direct sunlight.
Keep the ventilation openings, both in the appliance
enclosure and in the built-in structure, clear of obstruction.
Do not use electrical appliances inside the food storage
compartments of the appliance, unless recommended by the
manufacturer.
Do not use mechanical devices or means other than those
recommended by the manufacturer to accelerate the
defrosting process.
The instructions for appliances which use flammable
insulation blowing gases shall include information regarding
the disposal of the appliance.
To reduce the possibility of fire, this appliance must be
installed only by a suitably qualified person.
Failure to comply with the instructions may result in high-
energy consumption and poor performance of the unit.
b. Mains connection: If the mains cord supplied is not long enough, do not use an
extension lead. Ask a technician to install a socket near the ICM.

If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its service provider or similarly qualified
persons in order to avoid a hazard.
c. The merchandiser must stand upright for at least 1 hour after transportation and
prior to start up.
d. Ensure that there is a spacer to maintain a distance between the back side of the
ICM and the wall, and that nothing is placed on top of the ICM.
Do not use electrical appliances inside the cooler.
e. Allow a minimum gap of 100mm at the rear and 50mm at the sides of the cooler.
Assemble the spacer supplied with the appliance to adjust the correct distance
from the rear walls. Do not place anything on top of the ICM.
3.2 Connection to the mains supply
Connect the ICM to a 120 Volts, 60Hz power supply on a min 10A fused & grounded
socket. Do not use extension cables. If the power cord is not long enough, ask an
authorized electrician to replace it with a longer one, or to install a socket near the
ICM.
Do not compress the main cable.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its service provider or similarly qualified
persons in order to avoid a hazard.
4. Maintenance
PRIOR TO ANY CLEANING OR MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE,
UNPLUG THE ICM!
DO NOT DAMAGE THE REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT.

4.1 Preventive maintenance
xClean the condenser once or twice yearly using a vacuum cleaner.
xUse mildly soapy water to clean the interior of the ICM. Use a window-cleaning
agent to clean the glass surface. Use gloves when you clean the glass.
xPay the appropriate attention during the transportation of the cooler so that you
do not damage the LED/lamp, the front grille or the glass door.
Do not use alcohol/acid based cleaning agents.
4.2 Cleaning
Tend the area of the cooler and keep it clean and dry.
It is important to clean the merchandiser twice a year. In order to avoid mould
formation, odours, etc. product compartments must also be thoroughly cleaned. The
interior of the ICM has to be cleaned with a mild soapy cloth.
Keep the cooler in a stable position during cleaning.
For your safety, during cleaning the unit should be
unplugged from the wall socket.
Do not remove the safety devices (grates, guards, earthlings,
etc.).
Keep the cooler in a stable position during cleaning, do not
step on or lean over the cooler.
If one or more of the bottles break while in the appliance and
liquid spills inside the cabinet or the space surrounding the
appliance gets wet, unplug the cooler before you clean the
liquid around and inside the cooler. Remember to take all
necessary actions to protect yourselves from broken glass
(use protective gloves when cleaning).
4.3 General user information
The thermostat is located on the back side of the ICM. The thermostat is factory set to
approx. +2.5°C. If you require a higher temperature (warmer), turn the thermostat
knob anticlockwise. If you require a lower temperature (colder), turn the thermostat
knob clockwise.
4.4 Operation
Energy saving tips:
For energy saving and for the ICM’s better performance:
xLoad your ICM at night-time so that the drinks are cold once you get there in the
morning.
xStore your back-up stock in a cool and/or dark place so that when reloaded, the
ICMwill need much less time to cool them down.
xWipe moisture off the products before you place them in the ICM.
xAvoid opening the door for long periods of time.

5. Service
ALL ACCESS TO THE COOLING SYSTEM AND ELECTRICAL
PARTS (CHANGING A LAMP OR REFRIGERATION DECK)
MUST BE PERFORMED BY AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL
ONLY.
PRIOR TO ANY CLEANING OR MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE,
UNPLUG THE ICM!
IN CASE THERE IS NOISE, YOU NEED TO UNPLUG THE
COOLER AND CALL SERVICE.
Do not damage the refrigerating circuit during servicing.
If the ICM is not functioning properly or is out of order, please check the following
before calling the authorized service provider.
FAULT POSSIBLE REASONS HANDLING
Power cord not plugged in. Plug it in.
The ICM does not
work. No power coming through the
socket.
Check for fuse/MCB on
the mains.

The thermostat setting is not
correct.
Rotate the thermostat knob
clockwise.
The ICM has recently been
reloaded with warm products. It
takes 8-16 hours to cool them
down.
Preferably, reload the ICM
before night closing.
The ICM is loaded in such a way
that the air circulation in the
interior is getting blocked.
Load the ICM according to the
standards you have been
provided with by the company.
The door does not seal properly.
Repair the doors for proper
closing (this type of repair
should be performed by an
authorised technician).
The cooler
does not cool
enough. The
products are
warm.
Leakage in the cooling system.
Repair the leakage (this type of
repair should be performed by
an authorized technician).
For this particular ice cold
merchandiser, a powerful
mechanism is needed and
consequently a certain amount
of noise cannot be avoided.
Ice Cold Merchandisers are
of dynamic type, according
to the specifications that the
company is offering.
Intense metallic noise. Call a Service technician.
The ICM
sometimes
makes noise.
Inclined or curved floor.
Level the ICM properly by
adjusting its feet. Placing a spirit
level on the top of the ICM will
assist you in leveling it.
The drainage hole for the
condensate water is blocked. Unblock the drainage hole.
There is water
on the floor.
There is a leakage in the tray. Call a Service technician.
The lights don’t
work.
The fluorescent tubes or ballast
or starter are out of order. Call a Service technician.
The supply
cord is
damaged.
If the supply cord is damaged, it
must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its service
provider or similarly qualified
persons in order to avoid a
hazard.
If after all the above-mentioned checks the problem with your ICM remains, contact
the customer service department of your supplier and provide the following
information:
