Mover Plus is a transfer platform developed to provide smooth, convenient transfer indoor/ﬂat surfaces. It’s easy to

use and helps transfer patients safely and conveniently. Mover Plus has a narrow base frame and double castors

for easy manoeuvrability even in conﬁned spaces. Mover Plus has a stable platform and comfortable seat cushions,

and thanks to constant eye contact with the carer, the user always feels comfortable and conﬁdent.

References to directions in this document (left/right, forwards/backwards) are always based on the carer’s

pushing position/facing the care recipient.

1. Intended use

The Mover Plus – Transfer Platform is a mobile transfer platform with a safe working load of 150 kg. The product

is intended for indoor use on ﬂat surfaces for moving care recipients and residents at hospitals, nursing homes or

in home healthcare. The product is only intended to be used for care recipients who are able to stand up without

assistance or who can stand with minimal assistance. The product is not intended for long periods of sitting or

moving. The product is intended for moving a care recipient to/from a chair, bed, wheelchair or toilet. In this con-

text, “care recipient” means the person being moved.

The Mover Plus is not intended to be used in direct contact with water.

References to directions in this document (left/right, forwards/backwards) are always based on the carer’s pushing

position/facing the care recipient.

Mover Plus is intended for indoor use only in Home Healthcare environment and Professional Healthcare facility

environment.

Contraindications

• This device is only intended for moving care recipients. No other use is permitted.

• The device may not be used by patients above the maximum weight indicated on the label of the device.

• This device is not intended for long transporting of users, only for short transfers.

Precautions

• Check that the device is used on ﬂat surface.

• Check the device is correctly mounted/assembled before its ﬁrst use.

• Check the device after every folding after any transport.

• Inspect the device regularly to detect any signs of damage. If there are any visible signs of damage, contact

Direct Healthcare Group Customer Service.

• It is important to never leave the user alone during the transfer.

• Warranty applies only if repairs or alterations are made by personnel who are authorized by Direct Healthcare

Group.

• Ensure that there are no obstacles or people in the way of the transfer device.

• Check the function of brakes before use.

• Always use the brakes when the user is getting on and getting off the device.

• Activate the brakes whenever the device is not in use.

• Low speed is recommended when moving the device when a user is using it.

• Take care not to drive the device over thresholds with high speed or force.

• When passing over a threshold, pass the back wheel of the device ﬁrst. Approach the threshold with lower

speed and communicate the coming threshold to the patient.

• The product should only be used for the purpose speciﬁed in the IFU. Any other use is prohibited.

• Keep the instructions for use together with the product so that it can be used as a reference if necessary.

• Always carry out recommended daily maintenance before using the product.

• Before using the product, a clinical assessment must be carried out as to whether the care recipient can be

moved using this product and, if so; whether the move/transfer should be carried out by one or two care

givers.

• Do not move a loaded device over obstacles that the castors cannot easily get over.

• The product must be regularly cleaned/disinfected – after every use if necessary or at least once a day.

Warnings

• The device may not be used by infants, children or adults who are 146 cm or shorter.

• The caregiver must be able to read and understand the Manual/IFU of the product.

• Caregiver: Never use the device if you have not had a proper training on how to use the device including the

accessories.

• Maintenance/Service staff: Never maintain the device if you have not had a proper training on how to use and

maintain the device including the accessories

• It is important to use only approved accessories to prevent unintended detachment of components and

subsequently a fall that may lead to patient injury.

• Use careful and gentle maneuvers when moving the device.

• Perform maintenance/service of the device, according to the instructions in the manual/IFU, at least once

every 12 months.

• Accessories must be properly ﬁtted and tested in relation to the user’s needs and functional ability.

• Special care must be taken when using strong electrical power sources such as diathermy and the like so

that diathermy cables are not placed on or near the device. In case of doubt consult with a Direct Healthcare

Group representative.

• Do not leave a care recipient unattended during a transfer.

• During a transfer or standup procedure, the user must be over the base of support of the device during the

entire transfer procedure, to avoid tipping of the lift.

• Always maneuver the device using the handles. Do not push on the legs.

• Repair any paint damage as soon as possible to avoid a shorter lifespan due to corrosion.

• Do not use chlorine, phenols, pentanols or other strong detergents that could damage the surface/dry out the

cushions or cause premature cracking.

• Do not allow the device to stand in direct sunlight since dark surfaces can become extremely hot.

• The device must not be lowered into water.

• The device must not be cleaned using steam.

• The device must not be stored in a wet room.

• The device must not be used outdoors, only indoors.

3. Expected Lifespan

The expected lifespan of the product is at least 10 years if regular maintenance is carried out and any broken parts

are replaced as necessary. Contact the distributor if any part needs to be replaced.

Before first use:

• Inspect the packaging for any damage.

• Check for correct product being delivered.

• Check to ensure that the device is free from damage.

• Check if all the parts/components are included in the package.

• Check if all approved accessories are included in the package.

• Check if Product Quality Approval document is included in the packaging. Save this document for future

contact with manufacturer.

• Make certain the device is properly assembled.

• Check if it is possible to move the device in all directions.

4. Product label

UDI (Unique Device Identiﬁcation) can be found within

the barcode human readable text. It contains:

(01) EAN code

(11) Date of Manufacture. The date is in the format

YYMMDD Y = Year, M = Month and D = Date.

5. Policy of the number of persons required for moving a care recipient

This product is designed to be safely used by one carer. There may be circumstances involving a care recipient who

must be moved that make it necessary for two carers to carry out the move. Each professional carer is individually

responsible at all times for assessing whether the product is suitable for use and whether a move/transfer needs to

be carried out by one or two carers.

How to carry out a move/transfer

1. The steps shown below are for a transfer from one chair/wheelchair/bed/toilet to another, but it is done in the

same way regardless of whether the movement/transfer is carried out from a chair, bed, wheelchair or toilet.

1. Fold up the

two half-seats.

2. Manoeuvre up to

the care recipient.

Turn the cushions

1. Hold the half-seat by the handle in the upper corner.

2. Turn the half-seat either away from the moving area or

to a position underneath the care recipient.

Mover Plus can be moved in both directions.

How to carry out a move/transfer, continued

Release the brakes and move the care recipient.

NOTE: The care recipient should be seated during movement.

2. To carry out a transfer to a chair/wheelchair/bed/toilet, you carry out the above steps in reverse order.

3. When moving to a toilet:

• When the care recipient is in position, the rear castor brakes are applied and the care recipient stands up.

• Remove the care recipient’s clothing if necessary then fold up the half-seats so the care recipient can sit on

the toilet him or herself. The product can now act as a support frame to make it easier for the care recipient

during the toilet visit.

Individual adjustments It’s possible to adjust the height of the shin

support and the half-seats (25 mm)

1. Untie the screws and adjust the shin sup-

port/seats to the wanted height.

2. Tie the screws and use the Mover Plus

according to “7. How to use Mover Plus”.

8. Care and Maintenance

Preventive maintenance schedule

If the product, when checked, has faulty/broken parts, do not be use until the faulty parts have been replaced.

Inspect exposed parts for cracks or sharp edges (these may

become unhygienic or injure the care recipient) x

Check that there are no loose bolted joints x

Repair any damage to the paint to prevent surface

corrosion – this applies particularly to Mover Plus. x

Cleaning and disinfection

After every use:

Clean the movers seats, shin-support and handles. Wipe using a mild soap solution/surface disinfectant. The

product is not corrosion proof.

Weekly and possibly more often depending on frequency of use:

If necessary, clean the mover with a cloth with warm water or a soap solution and check that the castors are free

from dirt and hair. Ensure that the device is dried thoroughly after cleaning.

If disinfection is needed:

70% ethanol, 45% isopropanol or similar should be used.

Do not steam clean due to risk of corrosion.

Do not use cleaning agents containing phenol or chlorine, as this could damage the materials.

Recycling/Disposal

When the product is no longer usable it should be recycled in accordance with legislation and regulations in the

country concerned. Ask your local recycling station for further information about how the different materials in the

product (metals, plastics) should be recycled.

11. How to report a serious incident
