3. General information
The IOLITE LX module enables the user to have standalone data logging as well as simultaneous
transmission of data over various buses.
4. Licensing
The unit comes with a valid DewesoftX®license.
5. Hardware connection
To connect your IOLITE LX to a PC, connect:
- power cable to the IOLITE PWR IN,
- Gigabit LAN port to the PC’s Ethernet port.
6. Ethernet configuration on the PC
In order to access the IOLITE over as a RTC, you have to set a static address on your PC.
The static address should be part of the same subnet as the address of the IOLITE.
First we need to set up the IP address of the PC.
- define the IP address (e.g. 192.168.10.10)
- define the Subnet mask (e.g. 255.255.255.0)

7. Hardware setup
Once everything is connected you can go to “Options” -> “Settings” as in Image 2.

If you can’t see the “RT Device” or IOLiteLX, check that you have “Real-time controller (Control)” enabled
as in Image 3. If not, enable it and restart Dewesoft.

Once you have the RTC enabled, add the RTC in Devices as in Figure 4. by selecting “RT Device”.

If the device is not found, is disconnected or if you need to update your connection settings to the
IOLiteLX, you can click the refresh button next to the IP address field (Image 5).

The device should now be detected and you should be able to see its IP address and other information
(Image 6). Click OK to close and exit the Settings.

8. Input channel setup
Setting up the analog (Image 7) and counter (Image 8) input channel settings is done by clicking the
“Setup” button of each of the channels.

9. Setting up real-time controller
First, add the real-time module, click on the “More…” button and choose “Real-time controller” from the
list.

Now we are presented with the real-time module's user interface.

9.1. Configure section
In the “Configure” section there are two tabs, “Info” and “Config”. Info tab shows the basic information
about the device, as seen on Image 11.

In the Config tab we can set up the basic settings like the data acquisition frequency, scan cycle
frequency and others, as seen on Image 12. If we want to run the IOLite LX in a standalone mode, where
it starts logging or outputting automatically, we need to make sure that we enable the “Restart
acquisition on device startup” option.
