All DaVinci Fireplaces
Overview
This log set supplies everything needed to install in all CAT1 fireplaces (2’, 3’, 4’, and 5’, lengths). For CAT2+ fireplaces,
purchase one additional log set kit for every additional 5’ or less of length.
Example:
18’ DaVinci would use four log set kits (3 kits for the first 15’ using the 5’ setup for each, and one additional kit using the 3’
templates and setup).
NOTE: For 2’, 3’, 4’ foot lengths not all of the included logs and stones are used. Unused logs and stones may be discarded.

Installation Notes
WARNINGS:
Make sure the gas control valve is OFF and the heater is cool prior to conducting service.
Failure to position the parts in accordance with these diagrams or failure to use only parts specifically approved
with this appliance may result in property damage or personal injury.
HINTS:
The fireplace should be in place, with the gas line and vent attached and the firebacks installed (see owner’s
manual for further details).
ORDER OF INSTALLATION:
Place the template/s on the burner.
Secure log placement plates to the media tray.
Remove the template/s.
Dress the burner with crushed glass or rock embers.
Place the logs and stones as shown in this instruction sheet.
Return the fireplace to the proper configuration.

2’ Fireplace
2’ Fireplace - Preparing the Media Tray
1. Remove the glass to gain access to the firebox (see manual for details).
2. Place the 2’ Fireplace template on the burner as shown below.
NOTE: The holes in the template rest over the raised cluster of burner holes on each burner.
NOTE: Make sure the “L” and “R” are properly oriented, not reversed (if the letter is formed backward, turn the template
over).
3. Place the log placement plates in the punched out areas in the template that match their shape.
4. Secure the log placement plates to the media tray with the included screws.
5. Remove the template and dress the burner with crushed glass or rock embers (see appliance manual for details).
Do not overtighten the screws when securing the log placement plates to the media tray.

2’ Fireplace - Log Installation
The logs are fragile, especially after being exposed to heat.
Install Log #1 as shown below. The pin on the leftmost log locating plate inserts into the hole on the bottom of the
log (use the hole indicated below).
NOTE: Make sure the knot in the log is pointing to the left.
Install Log #7 as shown below. Place the hole in the bottom of Log #7 on the right log locating plate (the charred
end of the log should face the left as shown).

Install Log #5 as shown below. Place the wider end of the log #5 on charred portion of Log #1. Log #5 spans the
burner and the thinner, charred end is angled to the right and rests on the media tray.
NOTE:Whenalogplacementrequiresthelogtospantheburner,make
surethepartofthelogabovetheburnerisnotdirectlyabovea
clusterofholes(seeillustrationbelow).
Install one of the included log locating pins into the leftmost hole on the top of log #5 as shown below.

Install Log #6 as shown below. Place the hole in the bottom of Log #6 on the log locating pin installed on Log #5 in
the previous step. The other end of log #6 rests on log #1, just to the left of the knot.
Install stone #35 as shown below. Make sure the stone does not rest over the burner.
Lift the charred left end of log #7 and install stone #13 under it as shown below.
NOTE: The right end of the log will still rest on the media tray.
Install stone #10 as shown below. Make sure the stone does not rest over the burner.

NOTE: 3’ unit uses (2) templates, left and right.
NOTE: The holes in the template rest over the raised cluster of burner holes on each burner.
NOTE: Make sure the “L” and “R” are properly oriented, not reversed (if the letter is displayed backward or upside down,
reposition the template until it is correct).
3. Place the log placement plates in the punched out areas in the template that match their shape.
4. Secure the log placement plates to the media tray with the included screws.
5. Remove the templates and dress the burner with crushed glass or rock embers (see appliance manual for details).
Do not overtighten the screws when securing the log placement plates to the media tray.

the log and the charred (right) end of the log rests on the end of log #2.
Install Log #6 as shown below. The log-locating pin on the left of Log #1 inserts into the hole on the bottom of log
#6. Log #6 spans the burner.
