Safety
• Theproduct may be used by children of 8 years and above
and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capability or lack of experience and knowledge provided they
have been given supervision or instruction concerning use
of theproduct in asafe way and understand thehazards
involved.
• Never let children play with theproduct.
• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children
without adult supervision.
• Persons (including children) whose physical, sensory or

that they cannot use theproduct in asafe way must not use it
without supervision or instruction.
• Theproduct must only be connected to astandard domestic
220–240V, 50Hz electrical supply.
• Theproduct is only intended for normal domestic use and
only in themanner described in this instruction manual.
• Theproduct is intended for indoor use only.
• Theproduct is only intended for use in anormal indoor environment.
It must not be used in extremely smoky or dusty locations.
• Always plug theproduct directly into awall socket. Do not
connect theproduct to awall socket via anextension lead or
trailing socket.

• If themains lead is damaged it should only be replaced by

• Always unplug themains lead before cleaning, servicing or

• Never place theproduct where there is arisk of it falling into
water or other types of liquid. Never use it in abathroom.
• Theproduct must only be placed on afirm, flat surface.
• Theproduct must only be repaired by qualified service
technicians using original spare parts.
• Never use theproduct if your hands are moist or wet.
• Never place any items on top of theproduct.
• Never insert foreign objects into theair inlet or outlet.
• Switch theproduct off and unplug it from thewall socket
immediately if it tips over. Make sure that theproduct is
completely intact before using it for thefirst time. If you have
theslightest suspicion that theproduct is damaged, have it
inspected by qualified service technicians before using it.
• Unplug theproduct from thewall socket during thunderstorms.
• Place theproduct in such away that there is no risk of people
tripping over its mains lead.
• Do not place themains lead where it can be crushed or damaged
by sharp edges.
• Never use theproduct if it or its mains lead is damaged in any way.

How does theproduct work?
Ionisation
Theionisation of air can be compared to thefeeling one experiences just before
and after athunderstorm. Immediately preceding athunderstorm, theair can seem
more difficult to breathe and you might feel tired, this is due to theair being filled with
positively charged ions. After athunderstorm when lightning has cleared theair, it can
feel easier to breathe again. This is because theair now contains high concentrations
of negatively charged ions. Modern living standards with computers, fluorescent lights
and built-in ventilation systems generate asurplus of positively charged ions.
Theair purifier described in this instruction manual draws in air through a3-stage filter
comprising apre-filter, aHEPA filter and anactive carbon filter. This process cleans
theair of harmful particles such as dust, pollen, irritating odours and exhaust gases.
If theionisation function is activated, theair will be ionised once it has passed through
thefilter. Theionisation process causes thecharge in theair to disappear. This causes
any dust particles still in theair to fall to thefloor. In order to prevent this dust from
rising up and being sucked into thefilter, thefloor should be vacuumed about aday
(or as required) after theair purifier has been switched on. Regular vacuuming will also
prolong thelife of thefilter.

Operating instructions
Make sure that you have read and understood theentire instruction manual before
using theproduct.
Placement
1
Place theair purifier on aflat and stable surface
at least 30cm away from walls and furniture. Also
make sure that it is at least 50cm away from metal
objects or other electrical appliances.
Installation
1. Detach theair intake grille
and remove thefilter.
2. Remove thefilter
from thepackaging.
3. Refit thefilter. Note: Thearrow on thefilter should
point inwards toward theair purifier.
4. Refit thegrille.
5. Plug themains lead into awall socket.
6. Switch theair purifier on and select functions
as described in theControl panel and functions
section above.

Button lock
1. Hold in [ FAN] and [ TIMER ] at thesame time until thebutton lock indicator
light (10) comes on. All thebuttons on thecontrol panel will now be locked.
2. Hold thesame two buttons in at thesame time again to deactivate thebutton lock.
Care and maintenance
• Always unplug themains lead before cleaning, servicing or moving theproduct.
• If theair purifier is not to be used for anextended period, it should be unplugged
and stored in adry and dust-free location out of reach of children.
Cleaning/changing thelter
Note: Never immerse thefilter in water or other liquid.
Thefilter change indicator light (11) will come on when thefilter needs to be cleaned or
replaced.
1. Detach theair intake grille (5) and remove thefilter. Vacuum clean thefilter and
thespace where thefilter sits inside thepurifier.
2. Refit thefilter and air intake grille.
3. Switch theair purifier on and hold in [ ION] for 3 seconds to reset thefilter
change timer.
If thefilter is damaged in any way or has been subjected to excessive amounts of
contaminants, change it.
Troubleshooting guide
Theair purifier
will not switch on.
Make sure that themains lead is undamaged and securely
plugged into awall socket.
Is thewall socket live?
Low power. Is thefilter fitted correctly? Refer to theInstallation section above.
Clean thefilter or change it if necessary. Refer to theCare and
maintenance section above.
Responsible disposal
This symbol indicates that this product should not be disposed of with
general household waste. This applies throughout theentire EU. In order
to prevent any harm to theenvironment or health hazards caused by
incorrect waste disposal, theproduct must be handed in for recycling
so that thematerial can be disposed of in aresponsible manner. When
recycling your product, take it to your local collection facility or contact
theplace of purchase. They will ensure that theproduct is disposed of
in anenvironmentally sound manner.
