1. INTRODUCTION
1.1 PRELIMINARY STATEMENTS
THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL IS TO BE CONSIDERED AS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE PRODUCT
AND MUST ACCOMPANY THIS UNTIL THE EQUIPMENT IS DECOMMISSIONED AND DISPOSED OF.
THIS MANUAL MUST BE PRESERVED BY A PURPOSEDLY DESIGNATED PERSON IN A SUITABLE
PLACE KNOWN BY ALL THE PARTIES CONCERNED, IN ORDER FOR IT TO BE READILY
AVAILABLE FOR REFERENCE.
1.2 CONTENTS OF THE MANUAL
This manual contains the description of the product termed SHAPE/SHAPE manufactured by
EPTA S.p.A.
The manual contains information on the installation, use and maintenance of the product.
It also contains details on the technical features and on safe use of the product.
1.3 PURPOSE OF THE MANUAL AND PARTIES INVOLVED
The information contained in the instruction manual is aimed to explain the use and technical
features of the product; it also provides advice for product handling, assembly, adjustment and
use.
Moreover it contains information concerning the directions to be given to the personnel in char-
ge of operation, as concerns maintenance jobs and safe performance of these.
This instruction manual caters for:
OPERATORS: qualied individuals in charge of operating, adjusting, cleaning the equipment
and performing ordinary
maintenance.
SPECIALIZED TECHNICIANS: individuals possessing the technical training and the expertise
required to make them aware of the hazards one encounters when performing maintenance
jobs, therefore able to use the measures necessary to minimize personal damage and to per-
form extraordinary maintenance jobs, repair, replacements, overhauling.
The title of every single section of this manual bears the
indication of the individuals the section itself is addressed
to (OPERATORS or SPECIALIZED TECHNICIANS).
If no indication is given in the title it means that the section
caters for both.

1.4STRUCTURE OF THE MANUAL AND KEY TO THE SYMBOLS USED
IMPORTANT ; This symbol is used to indicate advice, rules, reminders and
notices that all those involved in the use of the product (each for his/her scope
of activity), must consider at all stages of the life of the equipment (installation,
use, maintenance, decommissioning, etc.).
CAUTION; This symbol is used in the manual’s safety messages to highlight the
hazards that could cause small or moderate injuries if overseen.
The message may also be used only to highlight conditions that could cause da-
mage to the equipment.
HAZARD; This symbol is used in the manual’s safety measures to indicate the
behaviour to be absolutely avoided during equipment use and maintenance and
whenever potentially hazardous situations arise, which could entail severe
injuries and even death.
IN ORDER TO AVOID ACCIDENTS, read, understand and abide by all the precautions and
advice contained in this manual an/or on the labels appearing on the equipment.
2. RESPONSABILITIES
THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL IS TO BE CONSIDERED AS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE
PRODUCT AND MUST ACCOMPANY THIS UNTIL THE END OF ITS LIFE.
The manufacturer disclaims whatever responsibility resulting from:
▪ improper, incorrect or unreasonable use of the product.
▪ use that is contrary to the National regulations.
▪ incorrect product installation.
▪ incorrect power supply.
▪ poor scheduled maintenance.
▪ unauthorized changes or jobs.
▪ use of spares that are not original or not specic for the relevant model.
▪ failure to observe the instructions contained in this manual.

3. VALIDITY AND COPYRIGHT
3.1 OVERVIEW
This use and maintenance manual, including all the relevant attachments, is the only documen-
tation supplied for the equipment and must accompany this as long as it is in service.
Should this manual be lost or damaged, a replacement can be asked directly to EPTA S.p.A.
3.2 VALIDITY OF THE MANUAL
This manual reflects the state of technology applied to the construction of the equipment at the
time when this is marketed; thus it cannot be considered as inappropriate or obsolete if it is
subsequently updated further to new experiences.
3.3 MANUAL COPYRIGHT
EPTA S.p.A. reserves the right to update production and as a consequence also the applicable
use and maintenance manual, without incurring the obligation to inform the client of the
changes made.
3.4 COPYRIGHT
This manual is exclusive property of EPTA S.p.A. Handing over this manual to third parties must
be authorized by EPTA S.p.A.’s management.
It is strictly prohibited to copy or reproduce, even partially, any drawings or documents contai-
ned in this manual.
Any violation will be prosecuted according to the law, and entitles to damage compensation
following commercial law provisions.

4. INTENDED USE (OPERATOR)
The product is aimed to be used by qualified personnel, i.e. personnel that
has been instructed and trained to use the product and the relevant hazards
by the employer.
Therefore, read the manual with the utmost care before use and instruct the
operator on the use of the equipment following the directions in this manual.
The instructions in this manual also apply to those in charge of handling,
installing, maintaining and disposing of the equipment, each for his/her own scope of activities.
The product must only be used for the purpose it was designed for, as stated in the manual.
The cabinet is only suitable for holding the temperature of cooked warm
food for short periods of time and exclusively when the food is being
served.
No other use, like coking or long-term temperature holding, is allowed.
The display cabinet may not be used by children or people with such impaired physical, sen-
sory or mental capacities as may not allow safe use of the equipment without supervision or
instruction.
During normal use of the equipment the front glazing must be closed; only during maintenance
or clearing is it possible to open the glazing completely. Intermediate positions are prohibited.
It is prohibited to remove guards or panels when removing them calls for the use of tools.
Tampering or altering the product is absolutely prohibited.
Any other use not explicitly expressed in this manual is considered
as hazardous; EPTA may not
be held responsible for any damage resulting from improper or
unreasonable use.

5. HANDLING ANDWARE HOUSINGE (SPECIALIZED TECHNICIAN)
5.1 TRANSPORTATION
The equipment may only be loaded and unloaded by qualied personnel, who will
see to verifying the weights involved and the exact lifting points; they’ll also see
that the lifting equipment used is safe and has the necessary carrying capacity.
Only the people in charge of operations must be in the area in which the hosting
takes place.

PROHIBITED LIFTING MEANS
Lifting means or equipment not meeting the safety features must not be used, do not use e.g.:
• lifting capacity smaller than the weight of the equipment;
• noncompliant construction folklift truck features
• construction features altered through use;
• substandard ropes or cables;
• worn-out ropes or cables.
Handling procedures other than those described in this chapter are not
allowed.

5.2 WAREHOUSING
The equipment must be stored in a dry humidity-free environment.
Before storing the equipment, provide for a cloth that may protect it from dust and dirt.

When storing the appliance (crate packaging),
do not stack more than two packages on top of
each other (Fig. 2).

6. ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS FOR INSTALLATION
The equipment must be installed in a closed environment, covered
and safe from atmospheric agents.
The equipment must not be installed in rooms containing explosive
substances.

Position the equipment far from draught (doors,
windows and air conditioning outlets etc.) and
observe a distance of at least 100 mm from the
wall or from any object that may hamper correct
air circulation around the equipment.
Climate conditions in the room must be within the
temperature limits established for the equipment
class (25 °C - 60% R. H.); when these conditions
are not complied with, poorer equipment
performance must be accepted (FIG. 3).
