ARRIS CM3000PRO User Manual

Thank you for purchase ARRIS CM3000PRO Brushless Gimbal. This gimbal is

compatible with GoPro 3/ GoPro 3+.

The ARRIS CM3000PRO is fully adjusted and tested before we send out to you.

When you receive it, you just need to install the GoPro on it, and give power supply

to it, and then it will work.

Note: The gimbal need 3S battery power supply. You can power it through extra 3S

11.1V battery, or you can power is through the battery of your multicopter. After

you power it, please remain it still, it need several seconds to initialize. And make

sure the GoPro is tightening to the lower plate. If you do not tighten it, it may cause

vibration.

The controller on ARRIS CM3000PRO Gimbal is Basecam Simple BGC 32 bit

version controller board . You can adjust the settings on the software as needed

from:

After you installed this, but the computer could not detect the gimbal you connect,

you need to install the driver from

http://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/pages/usbtouartbridgevcpdrivers.aspx.

However, since we have adjusted all the settings on the gimbal and tested it, we do

not suggest this for beginner. In a word, if there is no problem of the gimbal, please

do not adjust the settings.

As we all know, the quality of the aerial photography is not only determined by the

gimbal, but also the setup of the mulitcopter and the skill level of the person who

fly it.

In order to obtain the best quality, please take time to make sure everything on your

multicopter is correctly balanced and dialed in.

1. ARRIS CM3000PRO Parts

The ARRIS CM3000PRO Brushless Gimbal consists of the following items in the

package:

1.1 ARRIS CM3000PRO Gimbal

1.2 User Manual Disk

1.3 Wire for manual control the Gimbal

1.4 The video output and charge wire for GoPro

2. Important Notes

2.1. ARRIS CM3000pro needs 3 cell 11.1V batteries to give power supply. You can

use a separate battery or the battery on your mutlicopter to power it. DO NOT use

any other cell battery, it might cause damage to the controller or have a negative

impact on the gimbal.

2.2. When you connect the gimbal to computer through a USB cable, you will also

need to supply power to the gimbal via a 3S battery and keep the gimbal still in

order to ensure it connects to the computer

2.3. If you want to use all the functions of ARRIS CM3000pro, you need to make

sure there are 4 extra Channel on the Radio.

2.4. In order to ensure the normal operation of ARRIS CM3000pro, YAW should

connect with radio and do some setting. Then the gimbal can adjust the direction

effectively.

2.5. Before the initialization of the CM3000pro, please make sure that the front of

the gimbal stays the same direction as the front of the multicopter.

2.6. On the platform of the ARRIS CM3000pro, there are 4 holes for damper balls.

You can try different types of damper balls. Here is the link:

2.7. In any mode, you can manual control the direction of the Yaw Axis of the

gimbal.

3. How to Install the Gimbal

(Optional Parts TL68A01) If you install the gimbal on the 10mm tube, you can

use it. The picture below is the picture of the upper plate of the CM3000 Pro:

4. How to Connect the Wires

4.1 Plug defined positive and negative

(The mark on the metal case refers to the following function)

SH---Shutter

VO---Video Output

Yaw---Yaw

CMD--- Mode Switch

Roll---Roll

Pitch---Pitch

Power--- 12V Power Supply

4.2 How to Connect with the Receiver (Take Futaba R6208S as example):

Connect with receiver directly

If the receiver is far away from the gimbal, please use the extended wire.

4.3 How to set the settings on the Radio

For Mode Switch, please use band switch, such as the A in following picture.

And for Yaw, Roll and Pitch, please use the stick or knob which has the function of

return to central point. Such as the stick C and knob B in following.

The picture below is the settings in Futaba T8FG:

4.4 How to connect with the Video TX

ARRIS CM3000PRO integrated with the video output wire. It can connect with the

Video TX easily.

As the picture below, connect the video output wire with GoPro. This wire can

charge to GoPro too.

Connect the other end with the connector to the plug of the controller board of

the CM3000 Pro.

Use the manual control wire, one end connect to the “VO”on the metal case,

and the other end connect to the videot tx. If the wire is not long enough, you

can connect with the Video TX by extended wire.

5. How to Adjust the Parameters

For adjusting the parameters, you can check the Simple BGC user manual. Or you

can also download it from http://www.basecamelectronics.com/downloads/32bit/

Since we have adjusted all the settings when we send the gimbal out, please do not

change those settings casually.

6. How to load the stock settings

If you click the “Use Default”or changed some settings, the gimbal could not work

propeller, you can load the stock settings into the gimbal. The following is the

procedure:

6.1 Connect the gimbal to the software, and choose the right port, and click

“connect”;

6.2 Load the stock settings to Profile 1, and then click “Write”to save it;

6.3 Click Profile 2, load the stock settings, and then click “Write”to save it;

6.4 Remain the Gimbal still and make sure it is horizontal, next please click

“Camera IMU”, and then “CALIB.ACC”to calibrate the sensor. Next, click

“Frame IMU”, and then the “CALIB.ACC”to calibrate the other sensor. Wait a

few seconds, it will be OK.

6.5 Return to Profile 1, and click the “Follow Mode”, and choose “Follow Yaw”,

then click “Write to save it”

6.6 Disconnect it.
