Operating Instructions
1. Turn the Electronic Flash ON/OFF
Note: If the Electronic Flash will not be used for
an extended time, slide the Power switch to
OFF and remove the four batteries.
– Slide the Power switch to ON. All lights will
flash once. The Electronic Flash will start
charging when the POWER light is green.
– To test flash, press the TEST button.
– To turn off the Electronic Flash, slide the
Power switch to OFF.
2. Light intensity output
The Electronic Flash has eight light intensities. The eight intensities are
shown on the eight vertical bars on the display panel. The light intensity level
being used at any time is indicated on the corresponding lighted vertical bar.
The levels are adjusted by cycling through the +button and –button. Light
intensity levels include: 1/128, 1/64, 1/32, 1/16, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, and 1/1 (full
power output).
3. M MODE
On M MODE (manual mode), flash brightness is selected manually. Select the
light intensity and adjust the camera by pressing the shutter. The Electronic
Flash will flash under the camera synchronous signal.
4. S1 MODE
S1 MODE (slave mode) can only be used when the camera or master flash
is on M MODE. On S1 MODE the Electronic Flash will trigger the flash
synchronously with the first flash of the camera or master flash. This mode
cannot be used if the camera is on TTL MODE.
')

10
5. S2 MODE
S2 MODE (slave mode 2 or pre-flashing cancel mode) can only be used when
the camera or master flash is on TTL MODE. The camera or master flash will
flash twice: the first flash tests the environmental light and the second flash
captures the image. The Electronic Flash will ignore the first flash and will flash
synchronously with the second flash.
Operating Instructions
6. Automatic save function
The Electronic Flash will automatically save the current settings.
7. PC synchronous port input
The Electronic Flash synchronous port is used for connecting the flash to
the camera using a coaxial PC cable (not included). When the two pieces
are connected, the Electronic Flash can be positioned away from the
camera and doesn’t need to be mounted on the camera’s hot shoe bracket.
Note: the PC sync flash only accepts synchronous signal input and does
not support synchronous signal output.
8. External power supply box
The Electronic Flash uses a standard Canon external power socket. A
compatible power supply box can be purchased and connected to the
external power source socket port.
9. Power saving function
nThe Electronic Flash has an auto sleep function to save battery power for
longer use. When the Electronic Flash enters auto sleep mode, the indicator
light turns off. The POWER indicator light will flash green for 0.5 second
intervals.
nIn M MODE, the Electronic Flash will idle for five minutes and then will enter
auto sleep mode. To restart the Electronic Flash, press the TEST button or
activate the camera.
