Your Spout Cover requires three AAA batteries
to power the Digital LCD Screen and
Temperature Sensor.
Locate the battery compartment door on the
underside of the Spout Cover.
Loosen the cover in the battery compartment
door with a coin.
Properly insert three AAA batteries into compartment.
Replace the battery compartment cover.
Tighten the cover with a coin.
Press On/Off Button to check if product is
working properly.

Turn on the water and make sure the running water is
making contact with the Water Temperature Sensor.
On many bath tub spouts, the Spout Cover™
will cover the entire spout. On others, it will not. Safe
and proper use is still possible, as long as running water
is making constant contact with the Water Temperature
Sensor at the bottom of the Spout Cover™.
Afx the Spout Cover™securely to bathtub spout using
the hook and loop strap.

Begin running water into bathtub with
Spout Cover™ rmly afxed to bathtub spout.
Turn product on by pressing the On/Off button.
Observe LCD for current water temperature.
Adjust hot/cold faucet handles until comfortable water
temperature is achieved (backlight should be green).
Fill the bathtub to an appropriate level,
and turn off the water.
Check bath temperature with hands before placing
child into the tub.
The LCD will turn off automatically if no water flow is detect-
ed for 15 minutes. You can manually turn off the display by
pressing the On/Off button.
Make sure that the temperature screen is turned off.
Press and hold the power button for approximately
15 seconds.
The screen should flash and beep, and then reappear
in the alternate temperature scale.
To turn back, repeat this process.

READING THE LCD
Recognizing the Temperature Warning Alerts:
When used as directed, the product is programmed
to provide high-temperature alerts at water
temperatures above 100 ºF (38 ºC).
• The display turns red at 100 ºF (38 ºC)
• The display flashes and beeps starting at 105 ºF(41 ºC)
• The display flashes and beeps rapidly at 110 ºF
(43 ºC) and above.
UNDERSTANDING THE HIGH TEMPERATURE ALERTS
If any temperature warning alerts are activated,
immediately turn off water and remove child from tub.

CLEANING YOUR SPOUT COVER
THE ERR CODE
This product is equipped with a sensor that measures
water temperature. If the sensor malfunctions, the code
Err will be displayed on the LCD. Discontinue use and
contact 4moms®Customer Support.
Your Spout Cover™is made of plastic that is easily cleaned using
a soft cloth and mild soap and water. Avoid harsh abrasives.
PROBLEM SOLUTION
LCD screen does
not turn on.
Batteries may need to be replaced.
Replace with three new AAA
batteries as described in Battery
Installation section of this booklet.
LCD screen does

Spout Cover does

be incompatible. If product does not
properly afx to your spout, discontin-
ue use and return product to place
of purchase.

WARNING-DROWNING HAZARD
To prevent scalding or drowning, never leave child
unattended in bathtub. Discontinue use of this product
if it becomes damaged, broken, or disassembled.
•For maximum safety, it is recommended that your home’s
hot water heater be set at a temperature no higher than
120 ºF (49 ºC) at the faucet, as recommended by the Ameri
can Academy of Pediatrics.
• To prevent scalding, drowning or other accidents, never
leave child unattended in the Tub.
ALWAYSkeep infants within adult’s reach.
• This product does not protect against drowning and is no
substitute for adult supervision.
•This product has a built-in thermometer that is intended to
display only the temperature of the water coming out of the
faucet. It is not intended to be used as a medical
thermometer. It does not control the temperature of the
water, and will not operate properly if the Sensor is not in
contact with running water.
•We recommend that you always check the water
temperature with your hand as an added precaution.

•For proper operation and safety, check regularly to
make sure water temperature sensor (at the bottom
of cover) is in constant contact with running water
during use - PRODUCT WILL NOT OPERATE PROPERLY IF
SENSOR IS NOT IN CONTACT WITH RUNNING WATER.
•If you see the message Err on the LCD, Sensor has
malfunctioned. Discontinue use and contact 4moms®
Customer Support.
BATTERY WARNING
• Use only AAA batteries.
• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Remove batteries when product is stored
for long periods of time or when batteries
are no longer functioning properly.
• Dispose of exhausted batteries properly.
Please read these instructions carefully before use and keep
them for future reference. For your child’s safety, please make
sure anyone else using the Spout Cover reads and understands
these instructions before using it as well.
NEVERallow other children to substitute for adult supervision.
Infants can drown in as little as 1 inch (2.5 cm) of water.
ALWAYSbathe your infant in as little water as necessary.

4moms®warrants to the original purchaser of every new
4moms®Spout Cover™that the unit will be free from
defects in material and workmanship, under normal and
proper use as specied by 4moms®, and upon proper
usage in accordance with the instruction manual supplied
with each Spout Cover™ unit. 4moms’ obligation under this
warranty is limited to a period of six (6) months from the
date of purchase and in the country of original purchase. If
the unit is determined by 4moms®to have been defective
within six (6) months of purchase, it is limited to the repair
of the unit, including labor charges, or defective parts
or assemblies. The warranty shall include standard labor
charges and applicable parts as determined by 4moms®.
4moms®assumes no liability for parts or labor coverage for
component failure or other damage to the unit resulting
from improper usage or failure to clean and/or maintain
product as set forth in the warranty provided with the unit.
4moms®does not assume any responsibility for personal
injury or property damage incurred due to improper use or
unauthorized modication of the Spout Cover™.
While 4moms® does extensive testing above and
beyond that required by law, if through some unforeseen
circumstance we need to issue a recall, we ask that you
please register your Spout Cover™. We have two easy
ways to register: either ll out the enclosed registration
card or register online at www.4moms.com.
