ABOUT THE VIEW-R
WTC's View-Rlets you remotely view, monitor and modify the
programmable data that a WTC weld control stores and
produces. Most functions in the View-Roperate through a
standard Web browser.
THE VIEW-R PROVIDES THREE ESSENTIAL SERVICES:
•THE DATABASE SERVICE. This feature enables the storage
of static data like function strings and setup strings etc. and
historical data like weld history, graph history etc. from the
weld controls.
•THE APPLICATION SERVICE. This feature enables
verification of the database and data gathering functionality
for events, faults, graphs, etc.
•THE WEB SERVICE. This feature enables the View-R to
receive or push information to the timer.

OPERATING ENVIRONMENT:
Ensure the operating Environment of the View-R meets these
requirements:
• Temperature: 0° C to 50° C (32° F to 122° F)
• Humidity: 8-90% relative humidity, non-condensing.
STORAGE ENVIRONMENT:
• Temperature: -40° C to 60° C (-40° F to 140° F)
• Humidity: 8-90% relative humidity, non-condensing.
INSTALLATION
For the LAN network, you MUST use a WTC DEP (Data Entry
Panel 105/300s/600) or the robot teach pendant on integrated
controls, to program a unique address in each WCU that will be
on the same LAN channel. If using a DEP, it must be connected
to the DEP port of the weld control. If you do not program a
unique LAN address in each WCU, communication errors will
result and the LAN channel will become disabled.
THE VIEW-R CONSOLE COMES INSTALLED WITH 2 USB ANTI-DUST
COVERS AND 2 MINI DISPLAY-PORT COVERS. THESE COVERS ARE
NOT INTENDED FOR A HIGH VIBRATION ENVIRONMENT AND MAY
BECOME LOOSE.
AS PART OF YOUR REGULAR MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES CHECK
EVERY SIX MONTHS TO ENSURE THAT THE POWER SUPPLY CORD,
ETHERNET CABLE(S) AND THE DUST COVERS ARE FULLY SEATED.
SETTING WELD CONTROL UNIT’S NETWORK ADDRESSE(S):
THE ETHERNET NETWORK ADDRESS IDENTIFIES EACH WELD
CONTROL'S LOCATION ON THE NETWORK. EACH WELD CONTROL
MUST BE PROGRAMMED A UNIQUE ADDRESS BEFORE
COMMUNICATIONS WITH THE VIEW-R OVER THE ETHERNET ARE
POSSIBLE.

SETTING THE PLANT ETHERNET AND VIEW-RCONNECTIONS:
The cable connection originates at the EtherNet connector at
the back of the View-Runit. This cable connects to the EtherNet
switch on the plant EtherNet. The laptop or computer terminal
that will be used to access and program the View-Rshould also
be connected to the plant EtherNet.
CABLE REQUIREMENTS:
WTC recommends using Cat5E or Cat6E cable of 100 m max.
length to connect to the Plant EtherNet.
85-250V Power Cable, 50/60 Hz, 1.5 Amps should be used to
connect to the power supply.
