DO NOT OVERDRY. Overdrying can cause shrinkage, static cling, and damage

some fabrics.

1. Select a cycle by turning the Cycle

Control Knob either way. Stop when

the indicator on the knob’s outer ring

points to the cycle and setting you

want. See pages 6-6 for further cycle

information.

2. Press a temperature selection

which matches the type of fabnc

being dried. The red indicator will

appear over the temperature selec-

tion you have chosen.

3. Push the Start Button to start

the dryer.

4. To stop and restart the dryer:

Open the door or turn the Cycle Con-

trol Knob to OFF to stop the dryer.

Close the door, select a cycle (if nec-

essary) and push the Start Button to

restart the dryer.

The Cycle Control Knob should point

to an OFF area when the dryer is not in

use. If the dryer is stopped before the

cycle is finished, turn the Cycle Control

Knob to an OFF area.

Operating Instructions

Continued

Theautomaticcycles

The automatic cycles allow you to

select the degree of dryness you prefer

for the clothes being dried.

The electronic DRY-MISER@ control

is an electronic sensor that determines

the amount of moisture in the clothes.

The dryer automatically shuts off when

the proper dryness is reached.

The Cycle Control Knob will not move

until the clothes load is almost dry, or

the Cool-Down portion of the cycle has

been reached. After the Cool-Down

portion is complete, the Cycle Control

Knob automatically moves to an OFF

area and tumbling stops.

Use AUTOMATIC PERMANENT

PRESS to dry permanent press, knits

and other synthetic items. The load

tumbles without heat during the last 10

minutes. This helps keep wrinkles from

setting in and makes the load easier

to handle.

shrinkage, static cling and damage to

some fabrics.

TIMEDDRYING

Use the TIMED DRYING cycle for any

load you want to dry by time.

Turn the Cycle Control Knob to the

number of minutes you want from

10 to 70.

The last 5 minutes of this cycle are

without heat to help make the load

easier to handle.

UsingFLUFFAIR

Fire Hazard

Do not dry plastic or rubber items

with heat. Use FLUFF AIR setting,

or line dry. Failure to do so could

result in fire or damaged items.

The dryer does not heat when the Cycle

Control Knob is set in FLUFF AIR. This

cycle can be used to fluff or air dry bed-

ding, plastic tablecloths, foam rubber

pillows, stuffed toys, sneakers, etc.

1. Turn the Cycle Control Knob to

the number of minutes you want

in FLUFF AIR.

2. Push the Start Button.

UsingTUMBLEPRESS”

The TUMBLE PRESS setting removes

wrinkles from clothing that has been

packed in a suitcase or closet, and from

items not removed from the dryer at the

end of a cycle.

1. Set the Cycle Control Knob on

TUMBLE PRESS.

2. Press the PERM’T PRESS Tempera-

ture Selector.

3. Push the Start Button.

The load will tumble in heated air for

15 minutes. Then the dryer will tumble

the clothes for 5 more minutes without

heat.

For best results, put only a few items

at a time in this cycle. As soon as the

dryer stops, put the items on hangers or

fold them. 7

Operating Instructions

Continued

UsingDAMPDRY

Use this setting to dry damp items that

do not require an entire drying cycle, or

to dry items to damp level. (Two exam-

ples are heavy cottons, such as jeans,

which you do not want to become stiff,

or cotton clothes which are easier to

press when damp.)

1. Set the Cycle Control Knob on

DAMP DRY in the TIMED DRYING

cycle.

2. Push the Start Button.

The dryer tumbles the load with heat

for 25 minutes, then without heat for

5 minutes.

End-of-cyclesignal

The dryer sounds a signal to let you

know when the cycle is finished. The

signal can be turned on or off.

The signal is helpful when you are

drying permanent press, synthetics and

other items that should be taken out as

soon as the dryer stops. To use the

Cycle Signal:

Press the Cycle Signal ON pad before

a cycle starts. The ON indicator will

show. The signal will sound when the

cycle is finished.

If no signal is desired, press the Cycle

Signal OFF pad. Make sure the OFF

indicator is showing.

Lintsignal

Clean the lint screen before each

load. If you neglect to clean your lint

screen, a signal will sound. The (whistle

tone) signal lets you know the air flow is

being restricted. Restricted air flow

reduces drying efficiency.

Turn off the dryer and clean the lint

screen as shown on page 11.

AdditionalDlyerFeatures

GentleHeatsystem

The dryer automatically reduces the

heat settings in HEAVY HIGH and

PERM’T PRESS. During the

IaSt

few

minutes of each of these temperature

settings, the dryer temperature gradu-

ally reduces to a lower heat setting.

This helps prevent overdrying.

Usingthedryingrack

The drying rack lets you dry items that

you may not want to tumble. The rack

does not move, but the drum turns.

Make sure nothing hangs over the edge

of the rack.

1. Fit rear legs of the rack into indenta-

tions in the back wall of the dryer.

2. Lower the front so the legs rest on

the dryer opening.

3. Put wet items on top of the rack.

Leave space between them so air

can reach all surfaces.

4. Close the door and start the dryer.

See page 10 for suggested cycles

and temperature settings when

using the drying rack.

Drying rack suggestions

Drying time will depend on how much moisture the items hold. The following chart

suggests cycles and temperature settings for different kinds of items that might best

be rack-dried.

SUGGESTED SUGGESTED

TO RACK DRY: CYCLE TEMPERATURE

Wool sweaters

(Block to shape and lay flat on

the rack.)

TIMED DRYING KNITS GENTLE

Stuffed toys or pillows

(Cotton or polyester fiber

filled.) TIMED DRYING PERM’T PRESS

Stuffed toys or pillows

(Foam rubber filled.) FLUFF AIR

Sneakers or canvas shoes FLUFF AIR

NOTE:

The rack must be removed for normal tumble drying.

FINISHGUARD”setting

When you are unable to remove a

toad from the dryer as soon as it stops,

wrinkles can form.

FINISH GUARD tumbles the load,

without heat, every 5 minutes for up to

40 minutes. This tumbling rearranges

and fluffs the load to help avoid wrinkles

that set in when the load remains in

the drum.

You don’t have to set the Cycle

Control Knob for FINISH GUARD.

FINISH GUARD takes over automati-

tally to protect the load if you don’t

open the door within 5 minutes after the

PERMANENT PRESS cycle stops.

A signal will sound every 5 minutes

during FINISH GUARD, for up to 40

minutes. The signal will stop when the

dryer door is opened.
