loading your

Dryer

For best dryng results and energy

savings, sort dryer loads carefully

Separate loads

according to

the type of fabric and werght For

example

Dry heavy fabrics (denrms. towels.

cottons) separately from light fabrics

(permanent press, synthetrcs)

Separate lint grvers [towels, sweat-

blends, permanent press]

Keep dark colors and light colors

separate

Keep colorfast Items away from non-

colorfast fabrics

Allow room

for Items to tumble

dry faster with fewer

wrinkles When dryng permanent press,

dry smaller-than-normal

loads for the

best wrinkle removal

Use a mesh bag

Setting Drying

Times

Modern dryers are designed

with dry/ins temperatures needed to

safely handle modern fabrics Cool-

down times have been added to heat

settings You mrght notice slrghtly

longer drying times

The time It takes to dry a load

depends on.

The kind of fabric, its weight and the

size of the iood A large load of jeans

WI/I take a lot longer to dry than a

small load of light synthetics

The amount of moisture in the iood

Towels hold a lot of moisture, synthetics

don’t. Synthetics dry faster

Temperature of the rinse water Cold

rinses help save on energy and wrin-

kles, but a cold load WIII take slightly

longer to dry than a warm one

mAmount of //nt on the screen A full

lint screen slows the a/r flow and can

make drying time longer

Room temperature The dryer heats

room air If the room arr temperature IS

not above 45 F (7 2 C), drying trme WIII

be longer and removal of wrrnkles may

be poor

Proper instaiiotion and exhousf sys~

terns For the fastest possrble drying

time, Installing and exhausting your

dryer properly IS important See rnstal-

lation instructtons.

Be careful not to overdry. Over-

drying can cause shrinkage,

damage to some fabrics and

static cling.

FLUFFAIR

This temperature setting is useful

for fluffing beddrng, pillows and cloth-

rng, or dustrng drapes It IS also best

If You Need

Service or

Assistance, We

Suggest You Follow

These Four Steps:

1. Before calling for assistance...

Performance problems often

result lrom little things you can find and

fix yourself without tools of any kind.

Modern dryers are designed to dry at

the cooler temperatures needed by

modern fabrics They may need more

time than you are used to.

Room temperature IScold

DRYER DOES NOT RUN

Is electric power cord plugged In?

Is the dryer door closed tightly’ Your

dryer has a switch by the door that

shuts off the dryer If the door is

opened.

Did you push the Start Button?

Check clrcult breakers or both fuses In

the fuse box

DRYER RUNS BUT DOES NOT HEAT.

Is the Cycle Control Knob pointing

to at least 10 minutes or LIGHT?

(The last minutes are cool-down

time )

Is it a gas dryer? See if the gas IS

turned on. If not, turn the Cycle Control

Knob to OFF. Turn on the gas and wait

five minutes for the automatic switch

to reset. Then try starting it again

Is it an electric dryer? Check the cir-

cuit breakers or fuses in the fuse box.

An electric dryer will have two fuses. If

one is blown, the dryer may run, but

not heat.

DRYING TIME IS LONGER THAN USUAL.

Check the lint screen. Remove lint.

Keep the screen clean for best drying

results and times.
